   They were closed, very frustrating. You should not be able to make reservations online when restaurants are closed. We drove a half hour to go to dinner with out of town guests only to find the restaurant was closed. It took us another 45 minutes to get into another restaurant as it was Saturday night.

   Highly recommend! The food was amazing. Salads were fresh and flavorful. I had the lamb chops and my husband had the lasagna. You can tell that the owner of this restaurant takes pride in what is served. We live just a few minutes away, but had never eaten here before. This is now my favorite place to dine in Rochester. We will definitely be back.

   Worst service and bad food. The calamari was chewy and made me gag. The pasta was hard, the waitress left mid shift and didn't say she was leaving. I asked for chicken on my ravioli and they brought out a plain chicken breast on the side after I had eaten half my ravioli. This place needs to shut down. Horrible.

   We made a reservation for Valentines Day. Given the location and menu we thought we would be in for a romantic memorable experience...memorable is what we got for sure. We arrived and the restaurant was empty which was very odd for Valentines Day when they had stated they were fully booked. We ordered a bottle of wine which took 15 minutes to get. Our server who also claimed to be the assistant manager had no clue about anything on the menu. We both order salads prior to our dinner. One antipasto salad and one Caesar. After 45 minutes she came to the table and asked if I wanted my Caesar as an appetizer. By this point we just found the whole experience humorous and decided to just see it through. (Mind you a few tables have been seated and actually ordered food and left by now and we haven't even had our order taken!) she appeared a few minutes later with my Caesar salad on an appetizer plate and and large pasta platter for my husband who was confused as to what happened to his antipasto salad and what this pasta platter was. Shocked she apologized for the mix up she thought this pasta platter is what he ordered and would bring him an antipasto salad and he asked for extra pepprocini (sic) to which she replied we are all sold out (odd) and he also asked if my bread plate of salad was the $8 Caesar and she replied yes (which was tossed in ranch). Finally after receiving our proper antipasto salad minus peppers we placed a dinner order of scampi and lasagna both which appeared to be something you could buy in the freezer section at the local grocery store. I have to say the location is beautiful and has great potential if only they exuded proper care of customer care and attention to detail. We will not be back.

   Great vibe in this restaurant, very nice people, but it seems they cut corners when it comes to the food. I asked for balsamic vinegar to add to the dipping oil for the bread and was given Heinz Red Wine Vinegar. Not the same. I ordered Frutti di Mare. The angel hair pasta it was served with may have been the worst pasta I've ever eaten. I substituted a lemon white wine sauce for the palomino sauce it comes with and that was good. The shrimp was excellent, the muscles were good, but they "forgot" to include the calamari. Same thing happened with the lady at the table next to me who ordered the same dish, but she didn't realize it until I asked our waitress about it. My calamari was fried up and brought out on the side...I'm guessing it was just recently thawed out and it was some of the worst calamari I've ever had. It was grainy and didn't taste very good. I liked the feel and ambiance of the place and would like to go back there to hang out...maybe sit at the bar and order an appetizer.

   The service was outstanding and the food was even better. After we asked our server a few questions, it sounds like the restaurant has new management and a lot of positive changes are being made. All dishes are freshly made, from fresh ingredients and made to order. Ambiance was fantastic as well. I wish I didn't live out of state so I could go back soon!

   We took our family to Mamma Mia on Christmas Eve for the first time. The ambiance was wonderful. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for every day dining to a special event. This is a little gem tucked away in downtown Rochester.

   This was our third time at Mama Mia's and I must say, I was very impressed. The first two times, the service was not very good, but this was shortly after they opened, so I am happy to see they've addressed this issue. Our waitress couldn't have been more attentive, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. I am looking forward to going back again.

    We suspected something was wrong when we arrived for our reservation and the restaurant was virtually empty. A few minutes after arriving, we were met by someone and after an awkward exchange asking if we had reservations, he said he would check on a table for our party. During his absence, a group was walking out and warned us that it tool 45 minutes to get their drunk order.. strike 1. The man returned as they were leaving and heard the complaint and told us they were an angry group.. Then another group was leaving and one of our group asked how their experience was, and they responded "ok" and made a face that signified other.. strike 2. We were seated in a room with about 6 or 7 tables with nobody in it, but dirty dishes on the table. As we sat, another group came into the room, specifically to tell us that the place was filthy and their experience was horrible.... STRIKE 3 AND WE WERE GONE
