Went for the prime rib buffet. Prime rib was overcooked mashed potatoes were awesome as was the prep person. Our server was horrible. Non existent throughout the meal, until I confronted him. 18% gratuity already added onto the bill, which allows the server to suck. No wine list. Manager care. Members are treated better than the customer witnessed by myself. Fresh rib was brought out for them and servers paid more attention to them.
We recently joined two other couples for dinner at Malcolms. It was all-you-can-eat prime rib night so four of us choose it while the others ordered from the menu. Food was outstanding, particularly the mashed potato bar and prime rib. Others had a shrimp and grouper which were equally good.
It was very nice to be able to reserve a table online even when the restaurant was closed.
The venue is well appointed with excellent, attentive service. My only reservation is that Malcolms can be a little noisy because the restaurant seating surrounds the bar. We had a wonderful time but conversation was a little limited due to the noise level and that is the only detraction from an otherwise wonderful experience.
Did not like the fact that an 18% gratuity was automatically added. Not what I would have left....
We had not been here since the change in name, etc. So happy we returned! We will definitely be back. The food was delicious, scenery beautiful, service was very friendly and accommodating and relaxed atmosphere. Great place!
Off the beaten path at the golf course. Great food, good prices and glad we went.
Boisterous atmosphere, lively crowd and we were seated promptly at the exact time of our reservation. Prime rib buffet was excellent and sides were cooked perfectly. Salmon was a bonus feature and was delis. We will definitely visit again.
Being a celebratory dinner, we ordered a merlot. It was not good, tasted vinegary. The food was very tasty, well-prepared: veal marsala and my date had chicken on a bed of pesto linguine. You get only the entree: no bread was offered, no salad came with the meal. We ordered the tiramisu, which was frozen in the middle and bland. Waitress did not offer coffee or refill the water glasses. There is an 18.5% gratuity added automatically to the bill so perhaps that's why.
The entree was the best thing about the meal; the rest was not good.
We are from Ohio and travel to Ormond Beach at least once or twice a year and always try to eat at Malcolm's. Always a treat. My wife LOVES the mashed potatoes bar. We will be back when we visit the area.
We were a group of 8. All ordered different food items and everyone liked their choice. We were seated in the back by the window with a great view. The only problem was that the air conditioner was up too cold and we were all quite chilly. We mentioned it to the server but did not notice any temperature improvement while we were there.
Food was delicious, and the ambiance and service were outstanding.
Friday night all you can eat prime rib dinner with marble slab mashed potatoes were excellent!
We were in the area for one night on the way south and "Yelped it" to find a good spot for dinner. We wanted more than a regular dining experience, since my parents are visiting from aboad and they both recently had birthdays. Open table made it very easy to get a reservation. We got delayed in bad traffic, so called the restaurant direct to let them know we were running a little late. We were assured this would not be a problem.
Our waiter seemed young and nervous, but he did a great job. The food was good. We splurged and had dessert. My husband said the flourless chocolate cake was even better than the one I make!
Was kinda surprised to see the restaurant so quiet for a Saturday night. Would definitely recommend to friends
Overall, it was OK. The menu items were good, but the food that was with the prime rib buffet was room temperature at best.
Four of us went to celebrate my mom's 87th birthday. The seats were comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their lunch selections. Service was outstanding...and they knew ahead of time that we were celebrating a birthday. At the end of lunch, they gave mom a little chocolate cake. It was cute. We each had a bite.
We decided to give Malcom's a try as a change of pace. Their normal menu is OK for lunch, however it was their daily specials that brought us in for supper. I won't go into a bunch of culinary details, just know that the food is good and a good value.
The service left a little to be desired. Our server was very inattentive and scarce. On two different occasions we had to get up from the table to summon some help from another staff member. They have an automatic 18% gratuity on each check, so this could certainly have something to do with the "care less" attitude. Being the optimist ... maybe she was just having a bad night.
In summary - We plan to go back and try one their other interesting-sounding daily specials. Maybe we'll have a good service day too.
We came to celebrate our 4th anniversary since we had our wedding reception at LPGA. We've been back every year around our anniversary to reminisce about the wonderful reception we had. We were highly disappointed with the transformation of the restaurant and our visit this time. We made a reservation ahead of time and no one greeted us at the hostess stand for over 10 minutes. We walked up to the bar tender to ask if anyone was seating us since we had made a reservation and he rudely responded "I don't know", you could try to find a waitress. The dining room was so loud we couldn't carry a conversation. Our waitress was pleasant and tried to do her best to give us good service. The bar and kitchen took forever to get our food, which was much lower quality than the food I remember getting from the Grille. When we ordered dessert, it took over 30 minutes for it to come out. I think at that point they forgot about us. Our waitress did comp our dessert since we had to wait so long, which was a nice gesture. However, overall experience was disappointing and rather drawn own given that we were there for over 2 hours. We will not be back, unless it is just to grab a beer from the bar some afternoon. It seems that your priorities have changed from providing a fine dining experience, to just catering to a party crowd. AS far ad I'm concerned, there is nothing that sets you apart from any other pub or bar in the Daytona area now. I guess we will just have to look at our wedding pictures to remember how LPGA used to be!
Where did this place come from! Unique feel, walk into the bar from the main entrance - or as we noticed, stroll up to the patio from outside. We chose to sit outside, weather was great, the view is fantastic. Our server steered us towards happy hour specials when taking our drink order, thanks for that, we would've spent more when unnecessary! I opted for the Tuna Tacos, I seem to seek out fish tacos wherever I go, they did not disappoint. My wife had Ribs from a Farm to Table menu they use as weekly features - also fantastic. Service was great, attentive, but not overbearing, overall we enjoyed our time at Malcolm's and will be back with friends!
It's a ways back in LPGA;good for them. We didn't realize that the restaurant is not separate from the large bar that attracts the Friday night golfers coming off the course, so it was very loud. We specifically went there because it was advertised "Prime Rib" night. When you walk in the front door for the first time, you are surprised to see several long tables set up in the "foyer" with the prime rib chef, along with mashed potato fixings, and vegetables waiting there. Food good, but too expensive, though all you could eat; no rolls/butter. You then had to mingle through the golfers to the dining tables; it was odd to have to then walk back out to the "foyer" area to get your plate of food and carry it to the table. Uncomfortable.
The best one can say is that the food is mediocre with an excessive price range. We are world travellers and know more about food that most people. Any chain restaurant in this area is better. You will not see us again.
We had Lobster Scampi with several olive pit pieces. Wish I could have subracted the builtin 18% gratuity. But that would have seemed grosse. Not likely to return.....
Hi Ben,
The food was good, the service was great and the Music was magnificent . We have no complaints about Malcoms.
We do however want to bring to your attention that the table behind us hosted a group
with a man the used the F word with everything he said. He was loud and vulgar.
Not a very good advertisement for Malcoms at the LPGA

A very limited menu. The food was okay, nicely presented, but not something we would go back for.
Friday nights all u can eat prime rib, mashed potato bar with tons of fixings, fresh veggies. Really good at a great price.
The Prime Rib special was wonderful! The staff was very accomodating.
Thank you for a great meal and a reasonable price.
A couple of items of note here. The remodel looks great. This is inside a country club and it would be a good spot for groups. I guess it is also supposed to be for neighborhood dining. Staff training seems to not be a focus. Bartender doesn't know how to make very basic cocktails. The waiter had no idea what the food was. So they are not taking this as a serious dining establishment. Maybe that will change if enough people notice or don't return. We will go back and try again at some point to see if they get it. The Farm to Table menu is a good concept and the food was good.
Love the floor to ceiling windows on two sides of restaurant, beautiful view of golf course and golf cart staging area. From the Arnold Palmer beverage through our wonderful lunch and ending with a brownie sundae, our experience was delightful. Seared Ahi Tuna tacos are the best in all Daytona Beach! My friend enjoyed a flat bread chicken pizza and cannot wait to return for more. Quality of food was superior! We will return soon and often I believe.
I had eaten at this location before. On Valentines day, the menue was changed to a limited list of choises. The meal was good but it was OVER PRICED. Since my date and I were already there, we didn't leave. But I was considering it.
It will be awhile before I return.
We were at the Grille on Saturday the 12th of May - my sisters and I take our mom out for lunch every year on the Saturday before Mother's Day. We try to go somewhere different every year. This was the first time we've been to the Grille. Everything from the food to the service were excellent, we really enjoyed the Santa Fe Chicken soup. The service was excellent. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.
The food was fair with little choices. The price was too much for the food options. The $10 service charge was an insult. We will never eat there again.
Unfortunately, when we arrived at the restaurant they did not have our reservation.
Very expensive for an ordinary restaurant. 2 Sirloin steaks, 2 appetizers, 1 drink. Total bill $109!!!! Better steak at Outback with drinks 1/2 price.
Every year that we come to Daytona, we make a point to go and eat at the LPGA. We just loved it
The best burger in town!!! Great service and a nice touch with a visit to our table from the chef :)
We enjoyed our dinner so much that we returned the following day for their Sunday brunch which was outstanding. The view was great also.
We were very impressed with the food. The seasoning of the entrees was particularly outstanding, nothing overpowering. The wait staff was very attentive and thoughtful. We especially found the visit we had from the sous chef to be very impressive. Visits to the table by the chef or management always add a personal touch. We had a picturesque view of the golf course, however it was dark and we were unable to truly appreciate what was out there. But the atmosphere and comfort of the dining room was very pleasant. Judging by the beautiful windows, the view during the daytime would be beautiful.
Great food and wonderful view overlooking the 18th hole
