Portions were very small from the appetizer to the main entree pasta tasted like something you by in the grocery store in a can
Place was empty on a Wednesday. Food was good not great given price.
We have been eating at Maison Martinique on and off for over 10 years. The overall quality has been the same, on and off. This time the quality of food and staff hit a home run. Keep up the good worki.
This place is an absolute gem! Great food with professional service in a beautiful setting that’s straight out of St. Bart’s. It’s a little tricky to find but well worth the trouble. Did I mention their prices are more than fair?
I gave less than 5 stars for noise and ambiance, but this is a personal opinion based on fact that there was a sax player providing music which interfered with our conversation. The dining room is not very large. We asked if he could tone it down, and they actually had him quit playing. Due to virus fears there was only one other couple in the room, and i later learned they were displeased that the music was gone. Any way they went beyond to accommodate our request in this regard. The food was delicious and worth the price.
Leslie was our waitress and she did a great job. She is very attentive and her tea is great. The food was fantastic. There is a good assortment of food and everything is fresh and prepared well. We go to this restaurant regularly as the food, atmosphere and service is excellent.
We've eaten dinner here and loved the food so thought we would try breakfast. Their omlet of the day was very good but the portion of home fries served with it was pitiful....maybe 5-6 thin pieces of potato. My Maison Breakfast was fine with a more generous portion of home fries. But would not come back for the breakfast; menu VERY limited.
Would recommend for dinner but not breakfast.
What a disappointment! This is not the Maison Martinique which was outstanding at one time . The name is the same but the decor is dated, the understaffed service is undertrained, and the prices are based on past reputation, not quality. We dined with another local couple for my husband's birthday which I noted on the $5 OpenTable reservation. We were seated promptly at 6:45 pm but apparently there was only one waitress and one server for the room of approx 8-10 occupied tables. It took forever to place a drink order, get menus, place a dinner order, and be served. We had empty cocktail glasses still on the table throughout the meal. The wine menu contains mostly unrecognizable bottles which is fine if there is a sommelier or attentive waiter to educate and assist. We ordered a recognizable but overpriced $150 bottle of CA cabernet which arrived just minutes before our entrees (it should have been decanted or opened to breath when ordered with our cocktails.) The server poured the first four half glasses and never touched the bottle again. The food was quite good but the prime rib was grilled like a steak :( We were provided dessert menus and ordered two which arrived without the birthday recognition. The waitress presented the check to my husband despite having been told when we were seated that it was his birthday and I would like to have the check. Her skills are better suited to her day job at the local pub. This could be a wonderful place again with better management but we will not return anytime soon.
Food took over an hour to arrive to table and we had to go find waitress to remind her. Quality of shrimp and pasta was poor. Salmon was overcooked and dry. Fresh mahi mahi was good. Restaurant food and service was far better in the past and I hope they can get back to that standard.
Had a reservation for Valentines Day at 9 pm and showed up at 8:45 pm. It was a little after 9 pm before a host even came to the front. She was not smiling and only said we are running behind with no comment on when we would be seated. She then disappeared for another 15 to 20 minutes only to come back again with her face down in her seating chart to give us no more information about the wait time.
At 9:25 we left the restaurant to go eat elsewhere as if I am going to spend over $100 a person I expect to at least be updated on the expected wait time and to be greeted with some sort of niceness and information. We were just happy we were able to find another place before everything closed at 10 pm.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Maybe they are better when they are not busy but from reading the only other review from that night about running out of desserts and other food on the menu I am glad we did not stay.
Showed up at 8:35 for an 8:45 reservation. We weren't seated til 9:33 only had 1 special menu for valentines day there was no option to order from their regular menu which is what drew us to Maison Martinique and by the time we ordered they had already ran out of some food items. So had to settle for something else. For starters the salad was bitter tasting so I didn't eat it. The jumbo shrimp for 2 appetizer consisted if 4 shrimp, the main entree rice was cold and salmon like warm the hottest item on my plate were the green beans. The place was noisy and could hear other patrons complaining it just wasn't the romantic ambiance we had hoped for. And so we decided to order our desserts to go as it was 11pm and they too had mostly ran out of those as well and all we got we're slivers of mud pie. When earlier in the evening while waiting to be seated the desserts were presented beautifully done and of great size. And for a mandatory $100 per person for what we received certainly wasn't worth it.
Wonderful dinner for 4. Ambiance. wine choices. entrees, and Christine. our waitress all outstanding. We will be back!
We requested outside seats, and were seated indoors. Our waiter was nice, but did not know the specials, and did not appear to be well trained for the job. The food was okay.
I had not been here for several years but I won’t wait long before returning. Every meal got rave reviews! The macadamia nut Mahi was outstanding. The small portion was more than I could eat. The veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked. It was a complete and total win.
Here at Maison Martinique the ambiance and speed of service lags behind the high cost of the meal. So while the lamb chops were very delicious, they took forever to come from the kitchen, they were not particularly hot when they arrived, and we were charged a very high price for them. Maison Martinique needs to speed up its service and amp up its ambiance to match its high prices. Furthermore, the glass ware is cheap, but the wine is not. We had a very lovely evening here, but it took way too long to complete our meal: we left at 9:30 from at 6:45 reservation. I was starving, even after my wedge salad, by the time the food arrived at 8:30. My husband had lost his appetite.
Off the beaten path, a lovely restaurant with consistently great food and good service.
Went there for Christmas Eve. Food was good but menu limited, I assume for the special holiday. Server was very nice and experienced.
The ambiance was really nice, festive for Xmas Eve. We sat overlooking the pool, which was lit beautifully. But the service was weak, and the food was not great. We ordered salads, and someone tried to deliver our entrees before we got our salad. Then, the server delivered salads with onions, so she had to take them back and we waited for our salads some more. When we finally got them they were delicious, I will say. I had prime rib, which was cut thin and really tasteless, even the demi glaze. My husband ordered surf and turf. The scallops were perfect, but the stuffed shrimp was overcooked and the steak was just okay. We expected to pay top price because it was Xmas Eve, but overall we were quite disappointed with the experience. The service was slow and not polished (she put the bread bowl on our table with the butter sitting on top and just walked away). Our server was nice enough, but just in over her head. Would not go back, and would not recommend.
The Christmas eve dinner menu was different than their online menu. The food was average and overpriced. Awesome building and grounds.
Not sure why I booked it on open table for a key business lunch. Paid $5 to make a reservation, and then found out once I arrived, they were not open for lunch.
When these things happen, it creates a lot of problems and last minute prep.
Had some of the worst prime rib ever ordered rare received well done seared like a steak they comped the meal but ruined a perfect evening out with my wife and grand daughter
Out of town guests
Two couples. Thanksgiving afternoon. Great ambiance. Nice, live non-intrusive piano music from adjacent room. Small separate dining room - parties at only two tables. Room very very cold. Both parties repeatedly complained to waiter about room temperature. Took about an hour to get the management to get the room temperature comfortable. The waiter and the manager seemed at odds about what to do about the frigid state of affairs. Drinks and appetizers excellent but very slow coming to table. Service was good but the food took forever to arrive. The place was clearly understaffed. Food was excellent and quantities were quite generous. We certainly didn't feel rushed. Dinner for 4 with 4 drinks was $240 which included tax before the tip. Prices were a bit higher than usual owing to the Thanksgiving holiday. We'd love to go back and give it another chance to improve on the service.
Food was good. Quiet dinner with good service. Interesting dining area.
Food and service were Excellent! The Tuna Tower is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!
Beautiful setting. Ask for the room with the fireplace. Just lovely. Food was delicious and well prepared to order. Excellent all around.
Awesome food. Very intimate
Parking lot curbs are not painted and my wife tripped and fell into the shrubbery. This caused bruising to her atm, leg and back. When we entered we were greeted only by the cook who was wearing flip flops. She advised they didn't have an item that is listed on internet menu, veal. We were told the bar was upstairs which is narrow and dark stairwell. Only had one drink at the bar and left without dinner as my wife was sore and the menu didn't appeal to us as advertised. The place is dated and we would never recommend this place.
It was a quiet night there but our server was attentive and cordial. We celebrated our 43rd anniversary with a bottle of Brut (a bit sweeter than we like). The Bruschetta with goat cheese was a hit with my wife. The macadamia nut encrusted Mahi with coconut rice and vegetables was absolutely delicious and was ordered with no dairy (they were very accommodating). The Onion crusted grouper dish was also a big hit with my wife. Serving sizes were generous. Price was reasonable. Ambiance was intimate and the room was not too cold (my pet peeve elsewhere). The parking was easy and free. An evening well worth it and memorable for us.
Food was just ok....too expensive.
Had a wonderful time Party of 6 and everyone enjoyed the food and the wait staff was great Looking forward to our next visit!
We had a most enjoyable evening in a quiet atmosphere, untroubled by noise from other patrons. The food was excellent, the portions were substantial and the service was outstanding.
A good surprise. The fish was fresh and very well prepared, with a tasty sauce. Service perfect, thanks to Gaby!
Soooooo slow. We waited for everything and the restaurant wasn't busy. It was one hour and 45 mins to get our meals. The waitress seemed to be the only person working there. She was very busy apologizing and offering things comped for us waiting so long. A cup of coffee before dinner took 20 minutes. With only 3 other tables occupied it was awful. I almost left to drive home, grab a snack and return for dinner. I ordered the lobster which was good, but no butter. Really? This was not during season. We live here year round and will not go back. Never.
We love it! Most definitely will be back and keep coming back. It was a beautiful experience. Thank you and God bless you all, Stephanie and Debbie were amazing
My date and I were very pleased, enjoyed eating while hearing piano musis
The old chef and servers that received high ratings in previous reviews are long since gone. The single server we had reminded me of the wicked witch of the west. We ordered the prime rib and we got a chuck steak artfully concealed with vegetables, showing only the eye of the large muscle, so as to fool the guest into thinking he had a prime rib in the dimly lit dining room. An old and cheap trick, but didn't fool this Culinary Institute of America alum. We simply didn't have the heart to make a fuss and disrupt dinner for the other guests. The culinary skill was so low that baby snack carrots from Publix were thrown uncooked into a 'vegetable medley'. This place is simply a bad joke, riding on the coattails of nearby restaurants like the old standard Ocean Grill. Stay away.
Delicious dinner, impeccable service and exotic ambiance!
We arrived at 6:40 and we did not receive our food until 8:30. Our server was pleasant at the beginning but was absent throughout the evening. When our prime rib arrived for three of us, it was cold. Our server never returned to ask us how our dinners were. When she finally returned and we complained, she told us they have a new chef and she was having trouble getting the food out of the kitchen. At that point, she did comp us our one appetizer. We would not return.
We were disappointed about the immediate change in the menu
