Great food and service. We go for lunch often. The s’mores cheesecake is scrumptious!
Good food but this is the second time in a row where I could not get my server’s attention when I needed it. It took 15 minutes to get a check plus another 10 to get my credit card back. If you want to attract business people you need to be more attentive
Nice restaurant for business or everyday dining with food service by staff. Tasty menu selections too.
Main Kitchen is one of the best spots for lunch in downtown Houston.
Online did not communicate there was only valentines menu available so we had to eat bar menu cause we went for the bone in ribeye.
The food and service are great. Nice bar and the vibe is good. The view of the streets at night is a nice touch.
Perfectly located downtown Houston. The restaurant is sophisticated without the stuffiness. Great atmosphere, service, settings, excellent and delicious dishes, the menu is versatile and changes with seasons. It offers choices for food lovers, healthiness, or just casual hardy plates as well. Value is appropriate. I highly recommend this place for private or business settings.
Was a Saturday night and the service was very slow. Waitress was very friendly but drinks took forever... First round was almost 30 minutes...
Food is great, but service was slow and inattentive. The hostess needs to be replaced.
Nice ambiance and food but the server could have been far more attentive. We arrived for our 5:30pm dinner reservation and were rushing out the door gulping down our dessert at 7:40pm to make it to the theater in time for curtain.
Our food was delicious. The presentation was very unique and fun. Not very busy when we were there (6pm on a Saturday)
We had reservations at 11:00 AM, and ordered at 11:15 appetizers, we were told it's 15 minutes before they will begin making appetizers and won't get them until that time. After that they got an order wrong, and offered to fix it but it would be another 15- minutes. We took what we got, but the did not offer a discount on the order.
I have been there 25-30 times before this and have never had this level of service
Jennifer N. We greatly appreciate your review, as we are always looking for better ways to improve service. I have spoken to our culinary department and management team. Please ask to speak with a manager or supervisor on your next visit. We would like to make it up to you. Have a wonderful day. Main Kitchen Management.
Fantastic experience for large group of 8. Fabulous food!
The happy hour that was listed on OpenTable did not exist at the restaurant. Service was very slow especially at the bar. Food was OK and atmosphere was very nice.
Very good for a business meal downtown. I have only eaten there at lunch. The menu is good, and it is possible to get a somewhat private table along the window, or a booth. The servers are attentive without being pushy. The food is quite good. Professional setting.
This restaurant is located inside the JW Marriott downtown. We love this hotel and the restaurant is incredible. The service is impeccable. The food is excellent. The ambience is elegant. All of the wait staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Main Kitchen!
Slow service. Average food
Veggie burger was delicious. Service was a little slow.
Everything was good except that the poke bowl came with fully cooked tuna.
Slow service. Had to ask for service. We had a reservation for lunch and although the place was mostly empty st 11:30 am, we walked around in circles while they figured out a dr rent spot to sit us. Food is great!
Great dinner, nice wines. Our waiter, Luis, was fantastic. He gave great suggestions and was there when we needed him. The truffle fries are AMAZING!
I really like Main Kitchen, but I would hesitate visiting again without my parka. It was super cold in the dining room, uncomfortably so.
Very tasty and underrated downtown hotel restaurant. All of the classics, done well - but leave plenty of time, the kitchen is quite slow in preparing and bringing out food!
We had a large party of ten, 7 adults and 3 children. The Sunday brunch was perfect for a such a diverse group. We were celebrating a birthday and the manager Robert stepped up to assure that the cake and cupcakes were plated, and placed on a cart for us to use for our brunch. The food was delicious, the kitchen kept the buffet hot and full for all the guest on a busy morning. Two of our party ordered off menu and the wait staff stepped up to aid them immediately! There is no doubt that Main Kitchen runs so well due to upper management. Robert was on hand to oversee all aspects of the brunch that morning and it was obvious he is a seasoned professional. With thanks for all those that went above and beyond at Main Kitchen!
Lunch service was extremely slow! Not good during busy workday!
Everything was ok. The customer service was sub par. The waiter wasn’t very attentive for the type of restaurant and the amount of money spent. However the food was very good and the atmosphere is nice. I would probably not return.
The food was delicious, but our waitress didn’t fill our water glasses until asked and even then it took multiple reminders for the water glass to finally be filled.
Need new menu
Service was sketchy and confused. New?
Green, I mean GREEN mashed potatoes? Presentation seemed to be total direction. Salmon was dry.
Maybe, I'm too normal to understand where the chef is ???
I'll be back because it is convenient, but I will not be able to recommend it.
Great meal; everything tasted great. They were surprisingly busy on the Friday afternoon that we dined. So food service was slow as was the check. Other than that, good meal.
The food was good. The service not so much because of this I won't be back.
Terrible experience. No hostess to great us as we entered. We had to find a waiter to seat us and then nothing for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile the tables are in the hotel bar which was very load and crowded. Not at all the experience we were looking for compounded by a complete lack of service. After the 15 minutes, we left.
Always enjoy eating here and is a great lunch or dinner spot for business. For lunch I think their prices are a little steep.
For the price, expected more from service; a bit too casual the clientele
Slow service, drinks over priced and tasted worst than a college punch and the food was above average for a chain restaurant (not fine dining by any means)
Service was poor. Waitress wasn’t professional, borderline with arrogance. Didn’t make difference between host and guest, she handed the bill to my guest instead of me.
After 15 minutes of waiting at our table for a server to show up, we finally had to flag someone down to find out if we had a server. Pork tacos not very flavorful. High prices for not high quality food or service.
Decided to go based on reviews we read. The actual experience was a let down. Nothing special...
Nice place for dinner after work and before opera. Food ranges from good to very good. Lamb tagliatelle with raz el hangout a bit too much like lamb stroganoff. Duck was very good.
