Lutyens Restaurant, Bar and Private Rooms

Located in the former Reuters buildings, Lutyens won the Square Meal magazine Best New Restaurant award in 2009. Designed by Terence Conran, the new building includes several dining and drinking options - open for breakfast through to late night cocktails. There are two bars, two restaurants, an outside terrace and four private rooms, plus a private members club. The restaurant’s à la carte menu focuses on modern European, highly-seasonal food, with a subtle Nordic influence (thanks to the Swedish chef). There is also a great value prix fixe menu. The wine list is one of the best in the City and the wine bar offers over 40 wines available by the glass, as well as a great value bistro menu. The subterranean cocktail bar includes large sofas, armchairs, cosy corners and alcoves, great music and a bar food menu, making it ideal for post-work gatherings or pre-dinner drinks.

The restaurant decided to close for the day. No contact at all from them.. We showed up with 3 business guests for lunch to find the place closed. Some warning would have been nice!

Got there and there was a notice that it was closed for unforeseen circumstances. That is fine but was with clients and had not received a call or email!!

Amazing food and excellent service - my friend complained about one of the wines towards the end and they offered us free digestive drinks to make up for it! Overall the ambiance was great and very attentive service!

We arrived late, as other diners were leaving. But the staff rallied round and served us very well. The food and wine were good and the price reasonable for this type of restaurant.

Thank you Lutyens for another excellent lunch. My sister who joined me as my guest had a broken foot and the manager and staff were most accommodating in finding a box to stand it on so it was raised. The Dover sole is always very good but as a beer drinker could they stock Birra Moretti as well as Peroni as the former is much nicer and it's what the Italians drink!

A total stab in the dark but it proved to be a great find. Great Choice on the menu and the food was both very well presented and cooked beautifully. Warm and very friendly atmosphere with excellent service. Quite a little gem in the heart of the city. Thank you.
