Please plan for your entire party to be present at the scheduled time of your reservation. Incomplete or late parties may not be seated.
My reservation was for 1:45 & we weren’t seated until around 2:15. There were several tables open but was told we couldn’t be seated there because it was reserved for a larger party (never showed). At least two parties of the same size came in after us and were seated before us. It was like we were glass windows standing by the entrance. I can go on for days.. I’ll just stop here.
Great food with a great vibe.
Joined a friend for brunch to introduce them to LuLu’s. They absolutely loved it and as always I wasn’t disappointed!!
Overall great. Extremely loud and difficult to hear, but we asked to be moved and they put us in the adjacent room, which was much quieter. Really great.
Food and drinks were delicious but the prices were a little steep. Service was a little slow but that could have been remedied if they had more wait staff.
I don't even know where to start everything was perfect. Everyone needs to go at least one time.
Great place that is underutilized for dinner!
Dined at Lulus for Valentines and was worried bc I usually go to Lulus for brunch. I shouldn’t have worried bc food and service was great. The reason I am giving 4 stars is bc the menu was price fixe which resulted in the food coming out very quickly to the point of feeling rushed.
We went for Sunday brunch Food was excellent. Service was very good. It was extremely crowded with a wait of an hour if no reservation. We had a reservation and had a wait of about 20 mins. Two people were working the hostess stand & that seemed to be a problem with seating people. There were empty tables but no one was cleaning them. Our table had not been wiped down since previous diners, only dishes removed. It was very loud & I had to talk loud to be heard. All that said, the food is worth returning & I will
Food was great and fast. Service was excellent. Great place to go for Brunch.
Great Bloody Mary with jumbo celery stalk
Had Juevos rancheros, with Avacado, like the red potatoes, very good and hearty brunch
I had the Chesapeake Benny and it was delicious! Very generous amount of lump crab. The service was friendly, but we did have to re-ask for the drink order.
Really enjoy LuLu's would make another visit in the near future #gaingang
Food was wonderful, service was insanely fast, and and the atmosphere was fun. Music was a little loud for a Sunday morning.
Went to have brunch for the first time, had to make a reservation, I got there 10 minutes early and they wouldn’t seat me until my entire party was there! Why? Is that going to change anything? No! Isn’t that the point of having a reservation? Why should I have to stand there for 15 minutes when my table was open and I could have sat down and ordered a drink! There is really no where to stand. I think it’s ridiculous!
I have heard so much about Lulus and we have tried on several occasions to get in for brunch but the wait was too long. FINALLY I got to experience it myself and I was less than thrilled. I would have to say this day must have been an off day for the restaurant. We had a reservation for 10:00a.m. Bloody mary was OUTSTANDING but the food was just mediocre. I got the red velvet waffle with chicken both were cold and uneventful. My GF ordered the shrimp and grits and it was even cold. I mean cold grits. GROSS... Lets get it together Lulu's you got this!
Not thrilled. Although our waiter definitely aimed to please, the food didn’t. My husband’s risotto was uniquely different in a good way but my seafood pasta dish was a mound of mush. I couldn’t actually find the pasta noodles and the calamari was too tough to chew. The scallops and shrimp were ok but the overall flavor was off putting. My son’s beef dish was fine but nothing noteworthy. We got the calamari appetizer over couscous which was odd at first but began to grow on us. Draft beer selections were limited; wine was good. In my opinion, not worth the price. I’ve heard great things about the brunch but this dinner didn’t live up to my memories of previous dinners we enjoyed here years ago.
Great brunch! Great service ! Music could be a little quieter
I loved the energy at Lulus. My friends and I reserved a table for a Sunday brunch. It was very easy to make the reservation through Open Table. My friends loved their food-although I only remember one friend’s order of French Toast.
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and requested no ranchero sauce but I received it with ranchero sauce. The food was still good but not as enjoyable for me because I’m not a huge fan of ranchero sauce-so I probably wouldn’t order that dish again. I didn’t see the need to send it back-like I said the food itself was still good I would’ve preferred that it be made without ranchero sauce—-as I was told I had the option to request it be prepared that way.
My friend also made a comment about one of the servers staring/glaring at her. I’m sure it was probably because they were getting super busy for the brunch hour and seeing that our table was done eating-she was ready to turn it over and sit the next paying customer down.
While that didn’t really bother me personally-it did bother my friend and made her feel uncomfortable. I understand that restaurants are a business of making money. But they should also be in the business of making people feel welcome, comfortable, and inclined to return.
Having said all that-I am still interested in coming back and trying a different item on the menu with my family and see what that experience will be like.
Amazing and awesome. Can’t wait to go back.
Lulu’s is a staple brunch spot in RVA..the food is always consistently good!
This is our favorite Brunch spot!!!! We love the Atlantic omelette and the service is great. Fun spot with great food!
Food and service are excellent. We had LuLu Benedict, Chicken and Biscuits, and French Toast--everything was completely delicious!! Also--the bloody Mary was nice and spicy! It was a little loud, but we could still have conversation.
The food was FANTASTIC (Best brunch EVER!) and service was friendly and quick. Our only complaints are that the tables are set extremely close to one another so it was difficult to get into my seat without bumping other tables and having multiple conversations that close together made it very difficult to hear across the table.
Excellent brunch, great service. Everyone had a great time. The food was delicious.
LuLus has an amazing look and feel and a great menu. We went for Brunch and were surprised at the options available. The food was tasty and plentiful with the exception of a couple parts. My scrambled eggs were incredibly over cooked to the point where they were firm and sponge like. My first piece of chicken was very tender and juicy but the second was very tough and dry and I did not finish it. The biscuit, potatoes, gravy, and coating on the chicken were all amazing. I would give this meal another shot in a heartbeat though. The only other issue was the noise level. The dining room is open concept with nothing to absorb the conversations or laughter. It echoes quite strongly in there. I don’t mind a loud atmosphere but some people do. Acoustic tiles on the ceiling or in the corners may help with the noise levels.
Great service. Solid food. Waffles were a little soggy
Bad food and bad service.
Slow indifferent service. Cold food. Tasteless deserts. Not fresh.
Lipstick on my coffee mug of lukewarm coffee.
Saturday night and the place is empty. I can see why.
Won’t be returning.
Great food. Great service.
We prefer to go early so the noise isn't so bad. The food is pretty predictable but good.
Looking for a new fun and foodie restaurant with visitors, we went here based on online reviews and interesting menu. It was practically empty on a Thursday night - and stayed that way during our 2.5 hrs. So I didn't get a good feel for how it would be when more active - can't comment on the bar scene. Liked the space ... the bar and the restaurant are one room, not large, so probably pretty noisy when full. Decor is minimal, but interesting. Food was a mixed experience. The bisque was excellent - but the calamari was rubbery and swimming in sauce. Risotto excellent - lobster not. And many dishes were lukewarm -- really a problem, especially since there were literally no other diners, so the kitchen was not stressed. Our server was very thoughtful and helpful. We probably will go there again just to see if it was an off night for LuLu, because the menu and space were both interesting. Right now I have trouble recommending, especially given the menu prices.
Very nice place and good food! Tables were a little close. Good though!
Love the food here. Delicious and creative. Friendly staff.
First diners of the night. Got food and it was lukewarm. Was just ok, food use to be so good back in the day. Won’t be back again for awhile.
Reservations for brunch recommended. Place is legit
The food at Lulu's was very good. It was a very busy Sunday and the restaurant packs you in, therefore it was very noisy. We would definitely go back but hopefully on a more quiet day/night.
Excellent service. Attentive but not overbearing. Great brunch food. They hit all the marks.
Have had brunch here a few times, mostly very good experiences. However, on New Year’s Day I was appalled by the poor service and customer appreciation.
As a bruncher I REALLY wanted loved this place because so many of my friends and family recommended it. Overall I had a good dining experience but I think my expectations were too high (especially when compared to my favorite brunch spots in other locales). I had the Brazilian Mimosa and French Toast with the thick sliced bacon and potatoes add-ons. My highlights were the cocktail (unique/tasty, generous amount, well priced), and the sides (the potatoes were excellent... crispy-yet moist, and well seasoned). The French toast was just OK (the slices were things as I'm used to fluffy large slices...I guess once you go Challa you can't go back LOL) but I've definitely had better. Service was so-so because our waitress went M.I.A for a little over 10 minutes when it came time to get our check, but thankfully we weren't in a hurry. I'm definitely going to give it another try now that my expectations have self-corrected because it's decent enough for a second stop thru....I'll just be trying something else.
We went for NYE ....we’ve been to LuLu’s for brunch before and it was Awesome...but our experience on NYE was just terrible. It was a three course menu, the choices all looked good but the service was ridiculously slow and the food was mediocre. It doesn’t have me excited to go back for dinner again anytime soon.
