Celebrations & More
Food fabulous. A most enjoyable evening. Made reservation on OT.... was seated immediately after arriving.
Always great to get together with friends and Lucia’s is our go to place , love it there never disappointed.
I love this restaurant and always give 5 stars to everything however I went Saturday night w a reservation after being seated it took 35 minutes to be acknowledged and that was from a grumpy older man. He was the worst possible excuse of a waiter I had to ask for bread and hunt him down just to order my dinner. In the past I have always left satisfied this time not so much and it is all based on the bad service. Not in a hurry to return.
Very much enjoyed our dinners. Service was very rushed. Wife an I go out for an evening's dining experience and this wasn't up to our expectations. Our waitress was inpatient and I had to ask for the evening's specials. Even with the very good food, this establishment is fair at best.
The draft Peroni wasn’t working, and they had only 2 bottles of it left — at 7:30 pm! It was chaos at that hour, packed with people and hard to find our server at times. The food was fantastic. Hard for a table of 8 to all communicate down to one end of the table; the server apparently couldn’t get to the other end. Despite all that, we had a great double birthday celebration at our current favorite restaurant!
Had an old friend in town.
I would normally give 5 stars for everything, but it was a busy Wednesday evening and the other diners were VERY loud--basically shouting at one another! We had to move from the window table we had requested to one near the bar, where it was still loud, but we could hear ourselves talking. There should be some way to prevent this noise because it makes dining unpleasant.
Great sauce, or gravy 😳 Server very nice and prompt, very helpful. Will be back
We always visit Lucia’s when my family is in town... never disappoints! Great food always.
Very consistent.. Food is always outstanding!!
The location is very convenient if you are North of Boston and don't feel like dealing with parking for comparable places in the North End
I’ve eaten at lucia’s a number of times and have enjoyed all. The hostess is so accommodating and makes sure we always get the seat that we requested.
The waitress was actively rude. The food was almost disgusting with how much butter they put in it. The only thing worse was that it was priced like a good meal. How does OpenTable say this is the best restaurant in the area? Never returning.
This is our 6th birthday celebration at Lucia's and we presented the biggest group of participants. Everything came out at the right time and together. And the dessert was to die for! The marsala is very good as is the veal parm. The fettucini al fredo was likewise spectacular. Highly recommended/
Had a reservation and when we arrived we asked for a booth. Even though there was a booth available, we were told it was reserved. Funny, we had a reservation and were there on time and before any other person arrived, to take the same booth a (Half an Hour Later)! This is not a good policy. Given that a patron has a reservation and is on time, they should get precedence - especially since the only open booth sat (Unused) for a good half an hour. Food and service was good, although service was quite slow given that there was only one poor overworked woman, waiting on at least eight tables.
It was so loud! I couldn’t have a conversation with the people at my table. The food was great but the aucoustic was so so bad! Too loud!!!
Except the noise level there was nothing adverse. Everything else was fine but nothing was particularly worthy of note.
Great time with my daughter and grand-daughter. Really terrific meals!
This restaurant is a great Italian fare experience with great desserts as well!
Food was great as usual. John the waiter always goes out of his way to make pleasant evening for my wife and I!
I have been here before but this time we were disappointed. There were 3 of us and our waiter did not read us any specials. We noticed other waiters did so we had to ask for them. He never came by to refill drinks- we had to get his attention. Someone else cleared our table. We wanted dessert but he did not come to us. We had to ask for the bill. Pretty disappointing and it was very slow on a Friday night with plenty of waiters and servers.
I don't usually frequent Italuan restaurants . I am Italian and am usually disappointed with Itsluan restaurants. However, this one is excellent. I plan on going back. Try the carozzella. MOLTO DELIZIOSO!
Food was OK, but nothing special. Typical Italian fair, that you can find done better in places not far away for the same or less money. Also, our 3 dishes were quite salty.
For service, we had an uninspired waiter who seemingly was hired because of his excellent Italian accent rather than his skills or attitude. We did notice another couple of servers that were much more attentive and personable to their tables, so it doesn't look indicative of a larger issue.
Overall, there are much better Italian choices nearby that I will revisit rather than this place.
Everything, food, staff was very good. Sat on the bar side. Very noisy
Excellant Decor, Friendly service and outstanding food. Drinks are big and good for the price. This was our first time.but will be back if we are in the area
We were welcomed warmly and seated in the middle of a large dining room. There were several empty tables and we asked if we could sit anywhere but the middle of the room, but were told that they were taken. While we were eating, only a couple of those seats were taken. Despite this, and having to eat under a spotlight, we did enjoy the food and the ambiance. It seems like a very friendly neighborhood restaurant. The menu is extensive, and portions are good. I had to ask twice to make sure my food allergy was written down, but then they made sure to address it. Next time I know to ask specifically for a booth or window, but I do recommend this restaurant to others if they like good Italian food, have a larger group, and like a good atmosphere.
Very good neighborhood Italian restaurant...food was very good...chicken saltimbocca was delicious. Good food, service, night out with friends...well done.
Great service a fantastic food. John the waiter goes out of his way to to make the night wonderful!
I can tell you in one word, YUM! Best local authentic Italian restaurant! Great for dinner with friends or a date night. Either way. I highly suggest.
Lovely dinner with friends. Able to easily converse.
Loved it! Especially the new curved booth.
So I specifically asked the host/manager for the table near the window for our reservation. He deliberately refused and reset another table inside the restaurant because he said the window table was reserved.
So we just finished our meal and the window table we requested IS STILL EMPTY at 9:00. Clearly we could have had a better table by the window but we’re not allowed access to it. Really??? Not impressed with the host/manager. We spent a lot of money for our party but were very disappointed our simple request was not honored
Delicious, genuine North End Italian food - always excellent! The new decor is beautiful. And, Winchester Center is always a very nice setting to visit as well. On this particular visit, their exceptional food stopped me from giving them a very low overall rating. That, and the fact that my guests and I really enjoyed each other’s company and conversation. Not having anyone check on your table, bring another drink, or explain why no meals had been brought out to us 45 minutes after ordering is inexcusable. And, it was a slow Tuesday night. The ultimate explanation was that their stove broke, but it was being fixed. When meals finally did arrive, they were all great! But, one of us sat without dessert for quite some time and another initially failed to get his ordered coffee. The waitress said she thought we were sharing dessert and waiting for decaf. When ordering, we had actually told her laughingly that no one wanted to share, and that we all wanted real coffee as none of us liked decaf. Someone came over, did not introduce himself (the manager?), was somewhat rude, and seemed quite annoyed that we had said that it would have been nice if someone had told us what was going on, long ago. We can only speculate that they were afraid we would go somewhere else upon learning the stove was broken. A good host would have been honest, apologetic, and allowed us to decide. Lucia management - please read about Gramercy Tavern’s legendary hospitality - you really need to!!! Everyone has an off-night, but really??? You need to elevate your hospitality up to the level of your food!!
Always good food good service
Always a great time, always great food. Thank you for making our night that much more special.
I always love a visit to Lucia's. The food is wonderful, and everyone is very friendly. A solid choice for Italian food in the suburbs.
As always, very satisfied with the friendly service, food and ambiance. Prices are somewhat high for their specials but worth it.
Great experience. Good food and good service.
Always satisfying at Lucia.👍
I took my mother there for Mother's Day and it was wonderful. We had a reservation for lunch and we were sat immediately. They had some great Specials, one of which had a rose on the side-- my mom loved it. Our server Mario was very attentive but not overwhelming. I had the pollo parmigiana and mom had the swordfish. Delicious. I wish we had room for dessert because I would've ordered the cannoli but ended up deciding against it.
This was a very disappointed Mother’s Day experience and I feel bad I brought my mother here, a place she had heard such great things about. The service wasn’t great at all, some of the staff was quite rude( giving discusted looks over poorly made soda( yes soda was screwed up)the rest was about average if that . The food on the other hand was very bland if not burnt I’d forget it if my stomach wasn’t still hurting. I could get food and service like this anywhere. The whole experience is not worth the price and I do not recommend this restaurant at all and can’t imagine why it’s been praised.
