Nonna Lucia's recipe, fresh pasta layered with egg, ground veal, Mozzarella & tomato sauce
The food was OUTSTANDING! Restaurant was pretty busy at 1:00 pm on sunday.
The staff was wonderful and the food delicious!
On vacation in Boston, had one free night. We were excited to goto Little Italy. Service was slooooow, had to ask for every, little thing…utensils, olive oil three times after they served us dry bread, they were out of the dessert we ordered, pasta tasted bland, like a kids meal. No utensils, salt, pepper, olive oil, Parmesan. When pasta came we lifted up our salad and appetizer plates to make room and he plopped the pasta down and walked away, leaving us holding extra plates in our laps. Waste of a nice night. First review I have ever left on Open Table. Took the time because it actually was that bad!
Old school Italian restaurant. Great food, service, reasonable prices-always a positive experience dining here!
Food was cold and not good.
Amazing food!!! We couldn’t decide what to order so we decided on several dishes to share. The wine was excellent and the sugar cookie martini was over the top! We are visiting from Phoenix Arizona and will definitely be back for this delicious Italian food.
We had a reservation and had to wait ten minutes because they were so confused on tables. Then they sat us upstairs and it was freezing! The calamari was good, and so was the chicken Marsala. The other pasta dish was horrible. The pasta was not cooked at all. We also had to ask for utensils then again for bread. Service was definitely not good.
Maybe they're still getting back up to speed post-pandemic but nothing was particularly good, except for our server who was friendly and professional. In an almost empty restaurant the host seated us next to the wait station and seemed confused and annoyed when I asked for a different table. The food was bland and not especially well prepared. The tomatoes for the caprese weren't ripe. No butter or olive oil served with the bread. My chicken dish was served over pasta that, I suspect, hadn't been drained well and was watery. Plus the interior of the restaurant is very dark without many windows.
Excellent food, kind and courteous service. We will definitely be back.
To be perfectly honest they were very busy and several things came out wrong or not at all. But
Service was not good and food was just ok. Very loud inside. Our waiter acted like we were a bother and we hardly saw her. Will not go here again
The food is always delicious and the service was excellent!
We reserved outdoor seating for 2 but between the time reservation made and time of reservation rain started to pour down. When we arrived it was clear outdoor seating was washed out for the evening. We approached the hostess prepared to scramble to find a new place but the hostess made us feel welcome and found as an indoor table right away. In a world where service has vanished it was really refreshing to be welcomed under less than ideal circumstances.
We ordered a special mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer along with some fried calamari. Entrees were veal Saltimbocca and gnocchi. FID was delicious and ambiance had a nice feel of a special neighborhood restaurant- great experience
Not a great experience. Much better restaurants in the area.
Not as good as it once was before, the service was good but everything else was subpar for a North End restaurant.
A wonderful "North End" experience while in Boston! Our waitress was amazing and the food delicious!
The food was not good enough for the price it was very mediocre and I would not return
We were very disappointed with this restaurant. Just ordinary, sitting among many terrific restaurants. Very noisy, food only average and service slow.
We had a group of 8 people and the staff was very good about organizing everything for us. Food was great.
Excellent experience. Very good food. Great service . Beautiful ambiance
Very nice authentic Italian. Everything we ordered was perfect.. including our drinks. Very very good! We will be going back to try more dishes. Carlito was a wonderful server. He made sure we had everything we needed. What a great time we had. If you are lucky enough to get a visit from Frank.. we’ll he made the night even better. Fun night! Great atmosphere!
Enjoyed a nice lunch at Lucia , service was great, outside patio dining amazing
If you are looking for an authentic Italian meal at a reasonable price in an upscale restaurant that features pleasant atmosphere and excellent service at reasonable price; then, Lucia Ristorante in Boston's North End is the place to go. The menu has many of the iconic Italian dishes listed with descriptions in English. In addition to the menu, there are always nightly specials. Of course there is a full wine and beer selection to chose from as well as some scrumptious after-the-meal desserts served with liquors or coffee. My wife and I took two family members, whom we had not seen for the past two years, there recently. We were fortunate to have made our reservations through OpenTable over a month ago since the restaurant is so popular and looking for last minute seating is a virtual impossibility. Our party was seated at a booth towards the rear of the restaurant at our request. Our waiter, Ricardo, was very efficient and shortly after seating, we had our drink selections and had ordered plates of Bruschette, Caprese and Calamari for our antipasti. These we followed by our dinner entrées. Our guests ordered the Pasta Cabonara and the Vitello Parmigiana (the special entrées for that night) while my wife had Salmone and I had the Veal Chop that was stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella cheese. All of these offerings were excellently prepared. Peroni beer and Stags Leap Chardonnay were our drink selections for this meal. For dessert we enjoyed Tiramisu and coffee. We exited the bustling restaurant for a short walk around the North End and back to our car that was parked within a block of Lucia Ristorante. It was an excellent evening and this restaurant is highly recommended!
Food and service good. However, please teach your staff to wait until all diners have finished eating before removing dinner plates.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. The staff and owners are lovely people and the food is divine.
Fabulous food. Everyone loved their meal. I am very picky about my meatballs and honestly these were the best I’ve had in a long time. The owner came and greeted everyone. The staff were attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place!!!
Food was fantastic. Service was horrible.
Lovely dinner at Lucia’s last night! We will be back.
Reservation at 7:30. Didn’t get seated until 7:50. Didn’t get food until 9pm.
Probably the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is basically slop with no thought for a recipe. A step from inedible. Pasta with veggies came with no veggies at all. My chicken and artichoke again inedible. Place is messy and even dirty. Sorry I don’t like trashing restaurants, especially after going through covid but they do well to consider what they’re serving to their patrons and step up their game.
Food could have had more flavor, especially for the price.
Delicious food, nice quiet place for dinner.
Couldn’t understand why they would not serve mixed drinks outside. Other restaurants were. Service was very slow. Food was not great. Sangria was not up to par. The ambience however and the service staff and maître d’ were very kind and friendly.
Gluten free pasta tasted like it was just from a box. Also had to wait a while even though we had a reservation.
Lovely date!! Had a reservation and didn’t get to sit until 30 mins after but it was worth the wait. Amazing food and would 100% go back.
Chicken in the Marsala was rubbery, couldn’t even cut through it.
The stuffed veal special might have been the best thing I’ve ever eaten
Food was just OK and too expensive. Outdoor dining by the street did not provide for a quaint North End experience.
Came here for Father’s Day and dined outside. Pasta were all around good! Fave was definitely the bruschetta
Absolutely delicious! We went on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Great for a family dinner or a date night.
