Luce Ristorante E Enoteca
My goal for this restaurant to create a warm environment for all guests that is typical of a true Italian heritage.
Our menu consists of many Buonincontri family recipes and recipes brought back from travel to Italy.
Fresh fish, meats and produce expound throughout Luce's offerings and a focus on the finest ingredients are what make Luce special.
House made Gnocchi, Italian rice balls and homemade Mozzarella are just a few examples our passion for the finest Italian food. The word Enoteca means wine library. The walls of the entire restaurant are covered with wine bottles as you would expect books to cover the walls of a library. Wine is a very important part of an experience at Luce, with over 125 choices from our wine list available to you.
THE FOOD AND SERVICE ARE ALLWAYS TOP NOTCH. WE DRIVE 45 MINUTES TO THIS RESTAURANT AND WE PASS MANY OTHER GOOD RESTAURANT, BECAUSE WE KNOW IT WILL BE CONSISTANTLY GOOD!
Food is consistently very good! Service was not as efficient on this outing but we know that during this time of covid, everything takes a little longer.
Excellent meal, halibut and osso bucco!
Really great restaurant
Everything great except having to smell car exhaust from the parking lot
The evening began early so we could enjoy the sunset and twilight hour on the patio. A gentle fire was already going in the patio fireplace near our table. Heaters were scattered around the patio but weren't needed that night. The service was responsive and polite with each request quickly filled. Our food was delicious, everything we tried was cooked perfectly and not over-salted. The ribs were truly memorable, as were the enormous meatballs. Will definitely be back.
Food was delicious. Service was wonderful. Definitely recommend!
The server was amazing but the food wasn't that great. My husband's meal was very salty and my food was just okay. Overall I don't know if we will be back. The restaurant itself is very unique looking so that's a plus.
Everything was perfect the good was awesome can't wait to go there again
Awesome food and great service. We will definitely return.
The place itself has a nice ambience but the food was extremely mediocre. Not worth the money when I can make better food at home.
Wide variety of appetizers, entrees and cocktails on Happy Hour menu. Bar seems to get backed up and slows drink service to tables.
The food was great and we had great service. We enjoy Luce.
Great happy hour food and drinks. Great service. We will definitely do it again soon.
Always a great meal when we eat at Luce. We discovered the happy hour spot a few months ago and have been going back at least two times a month. Enjoy the atmosphere and although they are always very busy the managers often step in to help the staff to make sure your given lots of attention.
Our first visit and we loved everything about the restaurant. Definitely going to recommend it to all of our friends.
Salmon was like leather and overcooked.
Chicken Parmesan was OK. Somewhat overcooked but edible.
Service was sweet but not expert. Ambience was
Luce is always outstanding! With cooler weather coming, you will find us on their patio.
Always a great restaurant with excellent service. Feels like you are part of the family. Highly recommended!
We were late for our 730 reservation. But didn’t think it would be a huge deal bc the restaurant is open till 9. 20 minutes late and the hostess said they aren’t supposed to seat anyone after 730, but since we had a res she would. Cool. Our server was enthusiastic at first, but dwindled down to not very attentive and didn’t ask us if we wanted drink refills which we did, and when we asked for bread to go with our saucy mussels, she said ok but didn’t come back for 5-10 minutes. With no bread. We asked again and she said ok. Then came back and said they had to make some bread. Then came back with some and said she found some ends and pieces and did we want them. Everyone else had bread, why wasn’t it offered to us? And why did the hostess seat someone 10 minutes after us? Food was amazing though.
First I must stay say that we have eaten at Luce on numerous prior occasions had a very good experience. This most recent visit was a big disappointment.. Our party of four were excited to participate in the last week of the Culinaria Restaurant Month and chose Luce for the occasion. Their menu selections for the event are some of the best of the various restaurants currently participating in Restaurant Month and two weeks ago my wife and I ate at Luce and had a great meal. However, this time was not. Two of the entrees were cold when served and one of them was the halibut. We alerted the server and she apologized and took the dishes back to the kitchen. When they were brought back to the table one was still cold and the fish was now overdone. I of course do not know how they supposedly reheated the meals but they were unacceptable and we related that fact to the server. We were some of the last guests to eat and they were nearing closing time and perhaps eager to go home. I will add the mussel appetizers were spot on.
Will we return? Perhaps so as we do like other things about the restaurant
Restaurant month menu had lamb chops 😋😋😋 and they were AWESOME!!!
Delicious!!! Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Excellent service and great culinaria menu. Osso buco fantastic and lamb chops done to perfection. Service very spto on and not overbearing, just the right amount. Drinks were fabulous. Very quiet inside and nice atmosphere.
Amazing dining experience at a wonderful restaurant. Sat on the beautiful intimate patio for a delicious meal that started with great cocktails - blue cheese olive martini and a lemon drop martini. Caesar salad is just right before their amazing entrees. Chicken carciofi and pennette con polpette e salsiccia were dream Italian entrees to have paired with wine recommend by our wonderful server. Tiramisu is the only way to end a delicious meal at Luce.
BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN SAN ANTONIO! (That I’ve tried). My partner picked out this place and enjoyed the lobster ravioli. I enjoyed chicken parm (the breast, not the thigh). It was cooked to perfection and the vegetable risotto was delightful.
We had the lava cake for dessert and it was alright. I’m from NYC and like to say I have a “sophisticated palette” and this place definitely measured up! The prices are steep so won’t be enjoying this for a long time.
The osso bucco was insanely salty. Everything else was good
We celebrated family and friends and just...life, during this crazy COVID time. Our guest is vegan and even though her food came out with a sprinkle of cheese, they quickly made it right and her new plate was hand delivered by the owner. Classy and delicious!
Culinaria fixed price is a great deal. Martinis were cold & delicious. Calamari were fresh &lightly breaded. Loved them! Order mussels...,wonderful...a meal itself. Strip steak was the disappointment. Not cooked as requested-- medium rare. Waiter was not especially attentive. Overall good and we'll be back.
This was my first experience at this establishment and was not disappointed. Decided to try during Culinaria month and enjoyed the variety of the menu. Food & service was amazing. Definitely want to come back during happy hour.
Luce is our go to place for celebrations. The food is always good and the service excellent. Friday night was no exception. We would consider going back as it was a safe environment.
Great happy hour and appetizers. Everything was yummy.
This place was outstanding! The food was probably one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Delicious! Service and ambiance was great too.
The outdoor dining space is beautifully laid out and we received prompt service. Even though the patio was full the food came out fast. The pasta fagioli and caprese salad were both wonderful. The gnocchi was also delicious. The only disappointment was the meatball included in the pasta bolognese dish - it was very, very bland. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the wine selection was outstanding.
Definitely our new favorite spot!!! Perfect for meeting friends.
Our first time trying Luce, and they didn’t disappoint. We did the restaurant week menu, the mussel appetizer was delicious. A very healthy portion, enough for a main course. We also tried the veal osso buco, and it was made to perfection. The meat was very tender and it fell off the bone. It was plated with risotto and mixed vegetables. There was so much food, I couldn’t eat it all. The lemon sorbet was a very refreshing final course. The meal was enjoyed by everyone
Love this dining experience I like it bettor than the the Tower of the Americas
Food was very delicious. Great outdoor atmosphere. Staff was great. Music was perfect.
Halibut dinner Luce's substituted broccoli for asparagus and substituted risotto with something else, and no lemon slice for the fish. On the grilled Salmon dish plate, salmon was not served on humus, just minced up garbanzo beans. It will be awhile before I go back, not what they presented on their menu.
