    We were seated promptly, and our drinks and appetizers came out quickly as well. The food was delicious and our server and other waitstaff were superb. We had a wonderful dining experience. We did not feel rushed at all.

    When checking in they had clearly lost my reservation on Open Table and first appeared to blame me but did the right thing and found me a table. Server was very kind however we chose a bottle of wine from the wine list. They tried to pass off a 2018 for a 2019 hoping we wouldn’t notice. When questioned, only then did she say oh we didn’t have that one. We asked if it would be a different price then and she said no. We switched to a different bottle and the same thing happened again. The price should change and they did not see it that way. Food was fantastic though. The gnocchi with short ribs was to die for and if it were an entree I would eat it all!

    The mussels are outstanding! Fresh and plump, not overcooked, with a tantalizing sauce. Oysters were fresh and delicious too. The homemade gnocchi were dry and rubbery, but the sauce made with beef rib was delicious. The branzino was good, as were the ravioli. The rigatoni was well flavored but the texture was soft, as if reheated. The house bread was special with a moist, tender crumb. The wine list is good, with various price points, and includes grapes I didn’t know. We got a bottle of white from a grape starting with ver…maybe vermint…It was light, young and we enjoyed it a lot.

    Lucca on Hanover Street is Outstanding. Excellent food, service, management and wine. A must if you are in Boston visiting. I’ve tried them all and keep coming to Lucca. Consistently awesome. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5- stars and cheers 🍷

    Got there right at 4 when they opened and we were warmly greeted and seated by the window. Excellent wine selection. The calamari app was a bit chewy but served in an excellent sauce. The gnocchi with short rib was outstanding as was the orechetti. Overall very good experience. We will be back.

    Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Only complaint was that we felt very rushed. Bottle of wine was being opened as our entrees arrived. If it were not for the wine to drink, we could have been in and out in 1/2 hour.

    My boyfriend is very picky when it comes to pasta. He tends to only prefer his own, and something in restaurant pasta is always not quite right. Not THIS time! He ordered the bolognese and could not stop complimenting it. He gave it a full 10! That’s NEVER happened before. I had the salmon and it was delicious too.the mussels were unlike any mussel I’ve tasted before. So good. Our server and busser were excellent and attentive. We went early (4:30) so it was quiet in the back room. BF is still talking about the pasta today so I’m sure we will be back.

    Let me start by saying, the food, cocktails and wine were wonderful. The restaurant was loud but we are ok with that. The problem was how rushed everything was. We barely had our cocktails when our appetizer arrived. We weren’t even done our appetizer when our dinner arrived. I get that it’s busy and you need to move people but another 5-10 minutes in between would have made all the difference in the world. In the end, good food, the service was nice but the speed in which they serve does not correlate with a romantic dinner.

    We came a bit early and they were happy to sit us immediately. Service was great, very attentive. We were in the basement section and was a bit quieter than upstairs, though upstairs looked like fun with the bustle of the night. We had the filet. Delicious. Grilled perfectly as we asked. Poured a great drink, too! We will come back as well as recommend others to go.

    Highly recommend this North End gem for their great Italian cuisine but also the friendly serving staff. I had the Lobster Lasagna and my wife had the Rigatoni Bolognese. Both were memorable and hit the spot after a long day of traveling!

    We loved Lucca! The restaurant was attentive to our food allergies and we were all able to order delicious appetizers and entrees accommodating nut, egg, gluten, dairy, corn, soy allergies. The mussels and arugula salad were superb, beef tenderloin, branzino and wild boar ragu filled us up and kept us full until lunch the next day!! Location can’t be beat. Ask to be seated in the basement for an even more intimate experience, loved our table and the wine cellar surrounding us.

    Saturday night date night and Lucca did not disappoint. I reserved Lucca because I could not get into Tresca or Bricco, I had never been to Lucca, but took a chance. Happy to say I took that chance. Loved it, mussels were tender, buttery garlicky, m m good. Scallops were sweet, perfectly seared over a bed of assorted mushrooms. My dat had a seasonal squash ravioli that tasted like Fall. Service was perfect, tables not on top of each other. I would highly recommend.

    Fantastic food, super attentive staff. Prompt seating right at our reservation time which is a nice surprise. It was very loud both upstairs and downstairs, with sound bouncing off the stone walls, so not a great choice for a first date or romantic dinner imo.

    This was my first time at Lucca and I loved it so much! Amazing ambience. I got the lobster lasagna and it wasn’t great but my boyfriend’s rigatoni was amazing and I will order that next time.

    Perfect meal. I had scallops with the bacon jam, wild mushrooms on a bed of cauliflower leek purée and my husband had the lobster lasagne. The service was impeccable. We will be thinking about this experience for a while.
