The food here was mediocre at best .
Someone in our party said that his was too salty , my friend ordered a steak - it was 1/4” and had no flavor .
Mine was good but very bland.
The waitstaff was standing around waiting for us the leave - it was only 9:45 snd theyre open until 11.
Overall I would not recommend this establishment.
Love it here. Neighborhood gem.
Enjoyed great pasta dishes in an old style restaurant. Love the bar area.
Fabulous as always. Friend had not dined here before and loved
The Chicken Louie. Shrimp Adria with mixed tomato
Salad was great. Husband had chicken with sausage peppers and potatoes. His favorite. Great service. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. Our favorite restaurant
Wanted a relaxing dinner - was anything but. Noise level was unbearable & service non existent after orders were taken.
We had a rough week and were thrilled to have a wonderful meal with terrific service at Louies. It was a great way to start the weekend. The food was delicious and the wine list was also very good. Looking forward to going back.
was very happy with the food but the wait staff was very slow and had to wait for the meal. Prefer Louies in Darien. Service is better
Food arrived cold. Need to fix the door outside, wait staff was not good
We have been happily eating outdoors at Louie’s. The food is always first rate and the staff could not be any more efficient or pleasant.
Great neighborhood spot. Service was a little slow and thoughtless, though. Waited over an hour to get entrees, which was only pasta - this is an Italian restaurant so I’d assume it should be ready to serve on a Saturday night. Had to tell the waitress to remove our salad & bread plates prior to receiving our main course. Otherwise, food was good, easy for family to be accommodated, and we will be back.
Wonderful once the family with the screaming toddler left!
Louie's in Cos Cob, CT is our answer to P.J. Clark's in NYC. A lovely, homey, pub-like atmosphere with a large area of outside dining, the food is always no less than very good, and the drinks are great. I love coming here at least once a month for a meal with a friend. The only drawback is limited parking, although they (sometimes) have valet parking.
Food was great, fun night overall. Waitstaff was attentive, outdoor seating was perfect.
My food was amazing. Everything was wonderful. Thank you so much!!
Kinda pretends to be high end Italian without the execution.
Excellent food , service was very good. Chicken Louie’s was delicious! No complaints
Average food, service, ambiance
Solid Italian place. Didn't see the water since our outdoor seating was in the front of the building. All the food was good!
Excellent food and very good service. Nice selections of wines by the glass. Will be going back.
Awesome neighborhood upscale Italian! Nuff said
Just another outstanding dinner at Louie’s !
Always a great meal. Very consistent.
A sweet 16 lunch
Very short on help so not a great experience like it used to be. However hostess did the best she could working the tables and seating people.
Had to ask for silverware etc. not a great evening
Service started strong and quickly deteriorated. Noone came back to table , no pepper, noone asked of we wanted additional drinks, etc.
Food was pretty good however
Fully stocked bar.
Baked clams appetizer some of the best we ever had. Short rib ravioli an lamb chops superb.
We like everything the chicken Parmesan was fantastic. The service was excellent. The only recommendation was we thought the salads were a bit pricey for what you get.
Especially if you want to start with a salad $15 is very expensive compared to other restaurants where for that type of salad should be around $10
We went with another couple and it was our first time there. The menu had a good selection and the food was really good (I ordered the shrimp fra diavolo with pasta and it was delicious - the shrimp were huge - which, if they weren't, it may not have been worth the $30, but they were and it was!) That said, we sat inside because of the heat and I'm not sure if there was a flood there or what, but there was a definite musty smell that they should take care of - smelled like either wet wood or dirty bar). It smacked you in the face when you entered the place, but I'm assuming it is not a regular thing and it is the only reason we gave it 3 stars on the ambiance instead of 5. The food was really good, the service was good, the desert and wine selection were good, drinks/martinis were made to perfection. We will give it a month or so and go back and give it another whirl, for sure, but if they don't take care of the smell in the interim, my fiance' will definitely not be keen to go back a third time, unfortunately.
Seems like an easy fix...so, I hope they read this and do something about it...
Good meal, great service. Had salmon and halibut. A little heavy on the butter and small sides but would come back for outside dining.
Great. Enjoyed everything
We love the food at this local restaurant and have been there many times over the years.
We were surprised at the lack of service. It appeared that outside was so busy the tables inside received little attention.
We had fun inside in the bar but the noise level for the first half of
the evening was deafening and the service very slow. Charming waiter helped, but there was not
Enough staff to cover the 2 inside rooms and all the outdoor dining. Maybe they’re having trouble finding wait staff? The food was great all around. It’s still a lively and very fun place to eat, long time residents enjoy hitting the old Augie’s haunt & would highly recommend.
Perhaps we just had an off night for the staff as folks relish our country’s
Very inattentive staff. Long delay for food. Mistakes in order.
Dinner was wonderful, drinks very good. Deserts ok
Got really loud in the back room by other patrons
Excellent food served by nice people
Our food was delicious and the service was perfect! We had a wonderful experience all around at our cute corner table!
We have enjoyed eating at Louie’s for years but this visit was very disappointing: glacial service and undercooked food
PA saved the last dover sole for me and my wife's soft shell crabs were excellent. Just another great dinner (outside) at Louie's!
Perfect evening. Food was great. Outside atmosphere could be more attractive. Service was fine
Food and service great. We did not feel rushed. Menu choices were excellent.
