Lotus Farm to Table
Great service, fun environment, and creative delicious food. We had the cauliflower appetizer and the hummus and both were delicious. For my entree I had the trout and it was very good. Loved the greens it came with. Will definitely be back!
Food was EXCELLENT!! Portions were just right. Service was great. I’d highly recommend
The restaurant has two wall mounted heating units and neither worked. Freezing cold inside. We ate with our winter coats on and were still cold. Perhaps this is why there was only one other couple there at noon. Absurd.
Fantastic as usual. Best restaurant in media!
Excellent meal - even better that it's all locally sourced
The food is amazing however this is the second time we’ve been here and I’m not sure why but the vegetables under the duck and steak were ice cold to Luke warm. One dish plate itself was freezing. However the steak on top was warm and duck was room temperature. Confusing.
We can’t say enough about the service! Our server made great recommendations. Great place to meet friends or co-workers. Plenty of menu options. We had a very leisurely lunch. We would return.
Food and service were perfect. Music was too loud for the space.
Food is healthy and good. Wish there was more carb options.
Perfect date night up in town!
I recently ate here with friends on a weeknight - our interest was a BYOB so we could bring our interesting wines to share. However, one needs good food for good wines and Lotus did not disappoint. The food was very tasty, well prepared- and the chef accommodated our special requests (split salad and add a veg to a main). I was surprised to see the place empty as it is probably one of the better options in Media foodwise. The service was excellent and attentive. For sure this is a keeper.
Great meal and very friendly waitress. Food was creative, items I would not normally be able to make at home or find at other restaurants. I thought the small plates and appetizers were better than the entrees but that could have just been a result of my selection (lamb).
Would absolutely recommend. Will go back sometime.
Loved the ambiance of this restaurant as well as the food.
Four of us ate at Lotus: Another couple, my wife, and I. We all agreed we would not come back because:
1. We had a reservation for 7:30, relatively early for a Saturday night. Three of us ordered the lamb entree, only to be told several minutes later that, oops, the kitchen had run out of the lamb.
2. Can't speak for our friends (who are negatively reviewing Lotus on Yelp and TripAdvisor). However, I wanted the Hake, which was also on the menu. I was told it was not available. I subsequently ordered a trout dish. The trout was dry and tasteless. In disgust with the whole experience my wife just ordered a house salad. Wasn't thrilled with it.
3. The service was terrible. We sat around waiting for a server to come to us. We probably would have waited forever had I not finally waved over one who seemed lost at sea. It turned out he might as well have been as this was his first night on the job and he did not know our table was under his jurisdiction.
4. Notwithstanding that we had this first-time server looking after out table, the service from the kitchen was terrible. We had to wait an inordinately long time to get our food.
All in all a disappointing experience.
The food is so fresh and the dishes so creative.... yields a very enjoyable dining experience.
This was my third dinner at Lotus and I won't be back. On a midweek night with a total of 3 tables of guests, we waited over 45 minutes for our entrees. The $4 single cup of soggy popcorn was not enough to hold us over, so we asked about bread for the table. Nope. My roasted chicken half was overdone and the accompanying parsnips were underdone. My friends didn't complain about their meals which is the best thing I can say about the whole experience . We joked that perhaps the waitress was also the chef, but no, she was just indifferent. Overall, a huge disappointment.
We went recently for our anniversary and were really impressed with so much about this place. The food was creative and delicious. Our server was prompt and cheerful and personable. More expensive than we usually go, but the food was excellent. This place will definitely have our business again for another celebratory occasion.
We are frequent diners at Lotus Farm to Table and love it each and every time. Service is always friendly and informative and fun. The food, well - the food is fresh, flavorful and brings us back each time. We love Lotus for special occasions or just a night out for some good food.
We had a lovely meal with friends at Lotus last week. Food was delicious and service was very attentive without being over bearing - they gave us plenty of time to talk and catch up. Would definitely go back!
Waiter was just OK - very noisy person next to us -hard to talk or hear !
The roasted peaches were a great dessert.
We enjoyed the salads very much. My wife enjoyed the flounder (served on a salad) and I enjoyed the mahi-mahi.
Lots of tables available on a Saturday night, with resulting quiet and no rush meal with friends. Menu had a good variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian options paired with local, seasonal sides. BYOB makes it very affordable.
Lotus has a seasonal menu, so it's always an adventure, as well as great variety, and fun things you never heard of. A good choice for a BYOB, which we wanted because we have an extensive wine cellar, and wanted to open something special. Service was inobtrusive, always friendly, and well timed.
For a special date night, my husband and I were very pleased at every feature offered at Lotus. All samplings were well-prepared and delicious. Certainly, we will return for another fabulous experience.
Consistently good food and service.
Lotus is a big part of the Media dining experience.
BURGER ONE OF THE BEST EVER
Food was just ok
Food was disappointing at best. Steak was bland along with the mushrooms. Desert was dry and unappealing. With all the dinning choices in Media they aren’t close to their competition.
service was good we each had a fish dish the salmon came with a potatoes mixed with spinach it was very tasty. the mahi mahi was excellent. We each had appetizers..the tomatoes with fresh ricotta on sour dough was very nice as well as the grilled peach salad. It is around the corner from the state store if you should forget wine.
Superb dining experience, amazing menu, wonderful atmosphere! Can't wait to come back in the future! Who knew there was such a thing as "kimchi mussels" and how tasty it could be?? Will try to come back for a show at the Media Theater, or just come for the food
Superb tasty food. Nice vegan options. Will go back again
Lack of interest from hostess. Actually lied when we requested to be re-seated out of the sun. Not enough experienced waitstaff.
I've probably reviewed Lotus more than once and with good cause. Lotus is our favorite place in Media, especially when Media is hosting "Dining Under the Stars." We both enjoyed a beer-brined half chicken with collard greens and bacon, and Lotus' streak of exceptional meals continues.
On this visit, however, I specifically would like to thank our server, Amanda. We used a gift card purchased by our family to celebrate our recent pregnancy. I used the card, then paid the balance, making sure to tip for the full check - not just my discounted check. A few hours later, Amanda called my cell phone (from using OpenTable) and wanted to adjust our bill, feeling that the tip was too much. I explained the gift card, and she understood and thanked us for our tip. My wife and I were both amazed at the humility and honesty from Amanda. Lotus should be just as proud of its staff as they are of its food.
Rustic ambiance, friendly service, sustainability-driven menu, creative cuisine.
Our media favorite spot anytime. Always changing menu keeps us coming back
Come here a lot. Food was great, as always. Was disappointed in the waitress this time. We had an 8pm reservation (last reservation available was 8:45pm), so we were one of the last two tables left at close. My sister politely asked the waitress if she had to wait for us to leave before she could leave, because we had just paid and we wanted her to not feel obligated to stay while we finished our hot tea. The waitress very rudely said “uh yea, we have to clean up” as if my sister said something wrong, and then walked away and started talking about our table to the other girl working. It’s a shame because we gave her a nice 20% tip and got an attitude when we were trying to be nice and actually thinking of her. Meanwhile, the other table hadn’t even ordered their dessert yet so we didn’t even have to bother to be polite, but that’s just who we are. The next time I go I will automatically be annoyed if I have her as my waitress again, which is a shame because it ruins the charm of the place and will make me want to choose somewhere else to eat.
Lotus is our favorite restaurant in Media. Being there during "Dinner Under The Stars in Media makes the evening extra special. We've eaten there at least a half a dozen times and it has always been a wonderful experience. The food is amazing, well prepared and delightfully presented and always tastes delicious. The occasion was our 37th Anniversary. The restaurant surprised us with a special dessert at the end. Also, it is a BYOB which we love. Thanks Lotus for a great evening.
Dined here for a friends birthday, all four of us absolutely loved our food. The salmon and trout were great and served with interesting, fresh sides and although the duck arrived sliced thicker than I'm used to seeing… It was absolutely delicious! Will def go back - BYOB, too
It was our first meal at Lotus. We were given a gift card with a strong recommendation to go. We had high expectations and Lotus lived up to them. The food was absolutely perfect. Each item was prepared with great care to every detail. Even the simplest of plates, like tomatoes, were delicious. We started with the potato tostados and a bowl of tomatoes with basil and garlic in hot oil. For an entree, I had the duck with grilled peaches, arugula, and feta. My husband had scallops, sausage, and clams with broth. My college age son had an enormous burger. We all tasted each others entrees and were in love with them all. The restaurant has great tables. Our reservation was for 6:15 on a Thursday and the place was empty. Our server, Emma, was knowledgeable, professional, and attentive without being pushy. We will return.
