About Lorenzo's Trattoria
Lorenzo’s features Northern Italian fare with a touch of contemporary flavor. Look to our menu for some of the classics as well as some modern Italian cuisine less prevalent on The Hill. Look forward to experiencing the authentic house-made gnocchi and risottos; or our signature dish, braised Osso Buco; our guests' ever favorite, Chicken Spedini; or a couple of the staff favorites, the Grilled Barramundi or Fabulous Veal Picatta.
At Lorenzo's the atmosphere is classy and laid-back. It is the type of restaurant where you can have a nice business dinner or enjoy a meal with the family.
We offer two beautiful private rooms, The Boardroom, which seats up to 14 or The Chefs Table which seats up to 8. You may choose to enjoy our patio on a beautiful day and savor one of the great Italian wines off our extensive wine menu. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable no matter what meal or day you visit. We look forward to showing you all we can offer at Lorenzo's Trattoria.

Lorenzo's Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
We had friends visiting from out of town, and wanted to treat them to a “taste of St. Louis”. Our entrees were flavorful, and served piping hot. We have dined at Lorenzo’s several times, and never have we experienced the noise level that we encountered Saturday evening. It was extremely annoying. We could not hear one another across the table. Luckily, the food and service were excellent and helped to offset the disappointing noise level.
We came to St. Louis for a wedding and always wanted to try “The Hill”. I went on the internet and found Lorenzo’s and everything looked good. WOW! Couldn’t have made a better choice. We had a party of 10 and everyone gave it super high marks for everything!! KUDOS to Lorenzo’s for making our trip to St. Louis memorable!!
It was Saturday evening at 7pm. Quiet night on the Hill. We were seated immediately outside as requested. There were three other couples and groups outside so we were easily able to have a conversation without yelling. Service was attentive. Maybe the dishes stayed a little bit longer than needed, but hardly noticeable. I had the potato gnocchi as an appetizer. It was creamy and filling and heavy. Maybe not the best choice for an appetizer. She had the vegetable soup which was excellent. Entress included the beef speidini and the mushroon rosotto. The cheese in the speididi was a little too much for me, but the accompaniments were nice. The risotto was amazing. She has celiac disease and so need gluten free and the waitress said that any of their pastas can be made with gluten free noodles. Two glasses of wine, coffee, gelato and tiramisu topped off a nice evening. Enough food to take home and have a smaller meal the next night (which we did). There are so many things on the menu to choose from it was difficult to choose and then she read off the specials. Nice wine list. Definitely will be back to try out the other dishes.
The service was wonderful. The person who waited on us was attentive without "hovering". The food was excellent and arrived at the table hot. We each ordered different entrees and each one was prepared and presented wonderfully. We didn't feel rushed and the atmosphere allowed for conversation. We are from out of town and hadn't been to Lorenzo's in some time. The friends who were with us had never been there. We enjoyed a wonderful evening and look forward to the next opportunity to dine there.
There is nothing like Italian food on The Hill. I grew up in St. Louis and now live on the East Coast. I came back for a business meeting and wanted to have dinner on The Hill. I was NOT disappointed. Hate to tell you South Philly and NYC - but the Hill and Lorenzo's has you beat! The food was the best Italian food I've had in many years.... execpt for maybe one meal I had in Rome.... Thanks Lorenzo's for validating my memories that there is no better Italian food in the US than on THE HILL!
Had the chance to visit on a weekend visit to our daughter's college. The location can be a bit tricky to get to if you're flustered by one-way streets, so either plan ahead and/or be comfortable with your directions!
Once arrived we were seated promptly (not a problem as we had 6 pm Saturday reservations, and the place didn't really start hopping until 6:30 pm). Service staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Entrees -- all from the pastas menu -- were excellent. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and the service.
When we left all street parking (the only available parking) was jammed. Again, plan ahead!
We have eaten at Lorenzo's many times. We have always thought of it as special. Not do this visit. It seemed to be more crowded; the portions too big ; the food too average; the noise bothersome. The wine was good. We had a spill at our table that was never tended to. I do not look forward to another visit.
The scallops appetizer and my tortellini was amazing, but my mom's fettuccine was only so-so and my husband's beef spedini (the chef's special) was not good. It has been like this the last 3 times we've been there- half the food is good and half is blah. Given how expensive it is, I cannot recommend taking the chance.
