As you're approaching our restaurant the parking lot to your right is a private gated parking but to your left is a small parking lot that is part of our restaurant and for dinner there are plenty of street parking!

Props to this restaurant for being cool when my 6 year old was totally losing it. They were so awesome. I'd will totally return when I'm back in town.

I have been to Lopez on previous visits to Monterey. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and my meal lived up to my expectations based on past experience.

The orders were not correct. The chimichangas tasted like paper. The waitress was not attentive. The floor was very dirty. They did not have Corona Light (in a Mexican Restaurant) nor did they have any Queso dip for the chips. We were looking for an authentic meal, which is what the restaurant says they offer. Unfortunately, all 6 of us were disappointed.

We walked in and they appeared to be setting up for a DJ, lights flashing everywhere. Didn't look like a restaurant to us with no tables. So we walked out. Can't comment on anything really.

Stepped in for a quick bite, it was about to close and therefore empty. The waitress was friendly and attentive even though she was going about her closing routine. The bean dip and house made chips were soooo good! The guacamole was decent, nothing "Michoacán" about it as the menu states, and the Cubita cocktail was refreshing. The tacos were average. In all the meal was ok.

Well we certainly did not need a reservation because there were no other customers there when we arrived at 5:30 yesterday. The service was maybe a little disinterested
But fine. The food took a while to prepare, which is a good thing in an empty resto, and it's the reason you'll come back (or not) and we would.

The Chicken Tostada Salad hit the spot after a long day of traveling from the east coast. Lopez is consistently good as I have been here before. However, tonight, the service was a little slow.

Tried this place with a Groupon deal. For the price the food and margarita were good. The service was poor. Ordered a dish I wouldn't usually have just to try the "hand made" corn tortilla's, never received them! If you could get ahold of a waitress it took quite a while before she came back with whatever you requested. Husband was specific about no guacamole cause of allergy and there it was, on his plate!

Went to Lopez Restaurant as an alternative to the crowds along Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. Restaurant is in a nice area. Dining area is open without much decoration or ambiance. Service was decently quick and our server was very friendly. Food was very good, Mexican fare. Beans are vegetarian and everything was seasoned well. Excellent meal for a reasonable price.

Food was really good, but appearance both out and in is a bit off-putting. We almost left before sitting down. However, service was wonderful. Food was well above average. Only negative...the margarita was very subpar.

We were in town for the sea otter classic so we know that finding a table would be hard, especially for group of 16. But the staff at Lopez Restaurante y Cantina were very accommodating and offered great service.

We went looking for a restaurant that could accommodate our group of 10 on Christmas Eve a bit late in the game. We are an eclectic group, so I figured a Mexican restaurant would be good. I was envisioning something like an El Torito or something. We walked in to a very quiet restaurant with just one guy at a table in the restaurant watching tv and another couple in a booth. We sat down and the waitress was very accommodating. Service was excellent, but the vibe was strange. The lighting in the restaurant was awkward. After we placed our order, the guy who had been sitting watching tv and the couple in the booth both got up and went into the kitchen and made the food. It felt a bit weird. Food was okay, but nothing exceptional.

Lopez is a great place for lunch or dinner. You will be greeted at the door. Your server will take her time answering your questions. The food is fantastic with family recipes!
The seating is average, with a Mexican flavor.
Servings are plentiful, you will not go away hungry. I you like Mexican food, give it a try.
