Lola never disappoints. The combination of superb food, deep wine list, stunning venue and
stellar service fully justify the pricing.
Lola Bistro is a must when visiting Cleveland. The menu is awesome, the food is awesome, the staff is awesome along with their excellent service. Don't miss it ... fine dining at best!
Food was amazing and delicious. Atmosphere/staff vibe was meh. Maybe everyone was done with the weekend (we dined on a Sunday). I've had staff more welcoming and interested in making sure I had a unique dining experience at an Olive Garden. With that said, I get that everyone deals with off-nights, so I'd definitely come back.
Visit to Cleveland from out of town
Good soup, my wife had lamb, also good, but after the 2 re-fry on my hanger steak- I ordered medium, first steak was very rare, took back for more cooking, medium-rare, sent back for new steak - came out almost well done - I suspect they just kept cooking the same exact steak -very disappointing...
This place came highly recommended and I read a LOT of reviews - all positive - about several dishes. I liked the ambiance and the service was very good. However, I'm afraid the hype was completely lost on me and I was underwhelmed by the food (as was my date). We started with the brussel sprouts and arugula salad - both were very good. Had we skipped directly to dessert, this review would be terrific! We ordered the strip, the hanger and the scallops. The strip was good but my date said whatever it was drenched in ruined it and there was a thick strip of fat which was a turn off. I didn't taste the sauce, just the steak, it was fair. I ordered the hanger steak. Hard to describe, but it was a bizarre texture (ropey - for lack of a better word). I tried three bites REALLY wanting to like it - but I sent it back and ordered scallops. They were tender, barely cooked, in fact, and overly salted. Scallops were served with some italian sausage (blech). I tried a bite of the sausage it was ok, but I ordered seafood not wanting pork. We had the frites everyone raved about it - way too salty. We ended on a sweet note with the "cheat day" and that was good. My takeaways: The food is paired strangely and the flavors are hiding under a ton of salt. I guess it's a Michael Symon "thing" to just barely cook the meat/seafood. We aren't fans.
Nice place for special occasion, good food and very knowledgeable staff
This was an awesome meal. As soon as you enter the Smokey smells pull you in. Food was great!!
The table was perfect. The waitress was outstanding and pleasant. The food was prepared excellently. It felt like you didn’t have to wait for anything. The special 50th anniversary treat at the end of the meal was a surprise and beautiful. Thank you, Lola.
Lola's never disappoints. Excellent dinner! Waitress a bit slow to initially get drink order and greet us, but after that everything went fabulously. Wine, pork chop, and Lola fries are the go to, so hard to order anything else. Beautiful table and prelude to stopping by the Jack Casino and heading over to listen to Joel Osteen's "Night of Hope" with my son, home from The Ohio State University. Son's a tough critic, foodie, and very particular eater, so if he thinks it's excellent too that's a real bonus. And thanks to waitstaff at door who held our leftovers that we picked up a bit later and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of when we got back to our home in Chardon.
Thank you very much for a great Cleveland dining experience!
Absolutely PHENOMENAL!! Looking forward to returning.
I went to Lola with my daughter prior to the theater. It was very good, and we had an enjoyable time. For us, definitley a special occasion restaurant.
Best steak ever. Smoked pork chop was great. Appetizers were amazing. Definitely will come back. Desserts topped it off. Service was excellent OMG Michael Symon has knocked it out of the ball park. He is an Iron Chef after all.
Our waiter Steve was amazing! He was attentive to all of our needs. The food, beer, cocktails and wine we're great. I would definitely recommend.
We were not so familiar with the chef, but the reviews were excellent so we reserved. Every dish was delicious. We enjoyed the beef cheek pirogi's for the appetizer, steak medium rare with french fries, and a side of brussels sprouts. The two of us split everything and there was plenty of food. Every dish was perfectly prepared and the steak so so tender, we both commented on this. Desert of the 6am french toast was very tasty, though next time I'd try to cake. Our waiter was perfect - non intrusive but attentive and professional. We highly recommend.
Simply stated, we are both world travelers. This was in the top five dining experiences of our lives. We will DEFINITELY return.
We really enjoyed the unusual offerings. Split everything so a better opportunity to try more things. Can recommeyeveruthing we had. Pirogies, pasta with amazing mushrooms and the dessert that was a mess...really it was a lot of super ingredients mashed together.
As good as I hoped. Beef cheek pierogies, charcuterie and lamb shank were all delicious. I wish I had saved room for dessert.
My entre (salmon) was requested medium/well done.
Came out close to raw...the portion was the size of
of an appetizer. Would have gone home hungry
without side order of wonderful "Lola fries"
Ambience was good but noisy
I had been to Lola's on several occasions for lunches with clients, however since they are no longer open for lunch (sad), we scheduled for dinner this time. The food is amazing and it's the atmosphere is fine dinning without being too stuffy.
Best charcuterie anywhere. food is always a delight. This time we had a lamb shank and the hanger steak. Both were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We were outdoors on a beautiful night on East 4th Street. I've never had a bad--or even an ordinary meal at Lola. Always memorable, always an event.
Eric C. Was very attentive and personable. Great service and delicious food. The beef cheek pierogies are amazing.
We loved everything about this restaurant. The food was delicious. The scallops were absolutely perfectly seared. The service was attentive without being intrusive.
Celebrated our anniversary here and it was amazing. Great service and great food! Will definitely come back!
The food was very good, except for the oversalted french fries
We had an 8:00 reservation. When we checked in, we had to wait a few minutes to be seated. This was a great time to take in the atmosphere. We were seated right across from the kitchen, which I was excited about as it is an open kitchen and I enjoy watching the interaction of the kitchen staff. This also gave me the opportunity to look at the different meals as they came out to help sway my decision. Our waiter (Jarel (sp?)) was very attentive and was able to answer our questions about specific items and sauces on the menu.
Over the course of the night, we had the beef cheek pirogis, the bone marrow appetizer, the lamb shank, the sea scallops, the hanger steak, and the smoked pork chop. Everything came out beautifully plated and seasoned well. I'm a picky eater and I was inclined to try everything as Lola is a Michael Symon (my favorite!!) restaurant. If I had someone who could pair foods and cook the way this food was cooked, I'm not sure there would be a food I didn't like. Everything was great!
We visited Lola because we were celebrating our Anniversary and our friend's anniversary. The staff was very nice and brought out cupcakes for both couples with Happy Anniversary in Raspberry sauce.
Our first experience at Lola was amazing. We'd definitely recommend it and will most certainly be going back.
Amazing! Request to sit at the Chef table...such a fun experience. Hanger steak and Lola fries are to die for!
Big fan of Michael Symon so was really looking forward to Lola; it was better than I imagined,
My first trip to Lola. Set up business dinner with group from Las Vegas, Denver and Atlanta. All agreed this was a good spot worth the trip. Lola has a great wine list, some authentic Belgian beers and a superb food menu. We had a couple notable shareable dishes but funny enough the hit was the Lola fries. My Hanger steak was very good and the other dishes of Lamb and Halibut were also very good. The ambiance is nice casual and the crowd mixed between jeans and suits. All were fine. The service was excellent as you would expect from a restaurant like Lola. take visitors here.
Very nice night at Lola from the service level to all the food, including accommodating a vegetarian in our group, which is always nice when dining in a group that the vegetarians aren't left out.
Butter Lettuce salad was to spicy with the cayenne pepper; Smoked Pork Chop, the sauce was to heavy and the chop had to much fat.
I travelled from PA to see a specialist in the area...Lola was the ONE place I had to go while here, it did not disappoint! the food and service was amazing, and even though Michael was not there, the staff generously gave me a memento of my visit and to wish me well with my surgery the next day. I was beyond grateful and deeply moved by the kind gesture!! Can not wait to go back!!
Celebrated our anniversary here. Had a great evening. The bone marrow starter, Pork Chop and Steak were all excellent. The Pomelo Sol was lovely (but small). Was quiet when we first got there at 6pm but picked up as the evening got later. Service was okay - had to look for our waiter a few times, but it didn't spoil the evening. The table cleaners were a bit too enthusiastic.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Can't wait to come back to Cleveland and eat at Lola again.
Upon arrival, we noticed they switched their menu without switching the corresponding online menu we had viewed prior to making the reservation.
The food was excellent on our visit. When we scheduled the reservation it asked if it was for a special occasion and we marked it was our anniversary. They went above and beyond and brought out a desert for us and had written on the plate Happy Anniversary! Would definitely go back again and recommend to others!
Our waitor was very helpful with the wine selection ! I wish I remembered his name. The Moscato he selected was delicious. The Beef cheek peirogi was everything the reviews claimed it was.
Enjoyed the experience overall. The table wasn't ready until 20 minutes later than our reservation time and we had to remind the hostess we were waiting (after she sent us to the bar). We ordered a vodka/soda in the bar selecting their well vodka (something from Pennsylvania I'd never heard of) and it tasted really weird to both of us. The bartender enabled us to swap it out for a Ketel. She was very pleasant. I think I would choose to eat at the bar next time.
A memorable experience; delicious food, beautifully prepared, and outstanding service. A very well run kitchen with conscientious employees, I will make Lola Bistro a frequent stop when I'm in Cleveland.
This was a special occasion for my parents 50th wedding Anniversary 👍🏻👍🏻 Your staff really made this occasion, an experience to remember !
Thanks so much!
