Lola - A Michael Symon Restaurant
In the heart of Cleveland's E. 4th St. neighborhood, this "local jewel" features stunning decor and sustainable American cuisine. Highlights include, beef cheek pierogies, impeccably prepared meats and seafood, inventive desserts and an extensive wine list featuring over 400 selections.
I absolutely loved the place, some very interesting options on the menu so I had a hard time narrowing it down but I ultimately choose the duck meatloaf and my husband had the paella. Both were great and interesting interpretations of classic dishes, would recommend either. Also try the roasted carrots, so tender and sweet ; and the fries cooked with sea salt and rosemary. We finished off by sharing the figgy pudding, excellent balance of flavors. Also some great cocktail choices. I have wanted to try one of Michael Symons restaurants for s while and Lola's did not disappoint. The only thing which could have made the evening better was if Symon had been there himself, I have always enjoyed watching him cook on tv!
Good food with excellent service.
It was very good. There was one slip up on the burger being undercooked but that did hinder our experience. The staff was amazing and treated us well and the food turned out to be very good.
The atmosphere was decent although I thought the artwork on the walls wasn't great (looked cheap and didn't fit the style).
The food was pretty good. 2 members of our four-person party got Steak and we both agreed that it was good but not the best we've eaten. Mine was a little dry. Others got the porkchop and Dover Sole. Both were good. We also got four of the side vegetable orders which were tasty, but again, not the best I've had. The portions were a good size. Not too big or too small. Our wait staff was excellent. They were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a nice meal but I thought it was a bit overpriced for what it was.
The food was amazing. The service was terrible - they did not clear the table between courses , wait staff put Dinner dishes near the competed salad dishes - did not clear the table until we were ready to leave. We had to ask for bread may I repeat THE FOOD WAS AMAZING
The steaks were so good. There was a dude in a hoodie and he seemed very out if place but the restaurant was so good that we didn't even care
Enjoyed our Wedding night dinner. Amazing. And they overheard us and planned a special presentation for us!
Food was very good from appetizer to dessert. Tables were a little too close together so it made it difficult to hear my wife
Delicious! Pricey but the quality is worth it.
My daughter is a Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School Chef and we both knew of Chef Michael and had to try his restaurant. It exceeded our expectations on all levels. GREAT food, GREAT service and GREAT ambiance!
The Service is phenomenal, all the staff were so friendly and efficient. Only disappointment is scallops had been taken off the menu, and I felt like that was their strongest dish. I miss the scallops. Cauliflower soup was heaven though, I didn't expect to love it like I did. So delicious.
Unfortunately there were no scallops this evening. I had the smoked sturgeon which was exceptionally tasty. To start we had the charcuterie board which included the homemade pork rinds which were very good. And sides to my entrée included roasted mushrooms and the brussels sprouts - both very good. Bourbon list was extensive.
Seated quickly and on time. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Ambience very relaxing and noise level was fine--we could converse easily. We had smoked sturgeon which may have been the best fish ever--smoked flavor was perfect and not overpowering--and the duck meatloaf which I thought was outstanding. I love duck and had never had it prepared like this. The wait staff helped us match wines to entrees and his suggestions were good--especially with the sturgeon. This was an expensive meal but worth it. Would go back again for a special occasion . A minor concern--my martini could have been colder but I like my martini as cold as possible--maybe some people don't?
A consistently great dining experience, with interesting entree compositions that change freuqently. The soups are always particularly good and worth trying.
Straddling between outstanding and very good. In order to taste as much as we could, we shared everything. The restaurant split the soup without being asked, and here is what lost the "outstanding" review. We also ordered the stroganoff to share and it was brought out with the soup. By the time we were able to eat it, it was cold-ish. In retrospect, we should have asked for them to take it back and bring it to our table when the soup was done. If that had been done, just as the soup was split without our asking, the review would be OUTSTANDING! Loved it!
Lola's was awesome! I have been wanting to check this place out for a while now and I am so glad I finally did. Everything was great - 10/10 would go again for a nicer evening out!
Second time here and food and service did not disappoint. Highly recommend!
We booked a reservation to celebrate our engagement. The atmosphere was chic and welcoming, Our server, Edward, was fantastic! He made our experience priceless with exceptional recommendations. Will definitely be dinning in again the next time we are in Cleveland.
Went at Lola for the first time fir my wife’s birthday. The ambiance and the service were the best. The food was delicious and amazing! We were both amazed and left the restaurant very happy!
A true Cleveland gem!
Outstanding meal, beautifully prepared, professionally served
We had a great dinner and our table service was excellent.
The meal at Lola was one of the best I've had, from the moment we were seated to the time we left. The waitstaff was attentive and never was a glass less than half full or an empty plate at the table. The petite french dip sandwiches on the chacuterie board were awesome. I had the burger and my date had the porkchop...both cooked perfectly and you can tell the caliber of food used in the kitchen. A must-have meal in Cleveland!
Wonderful dinner at Lola celebrating my sons acceptance to Ohio State. Food was great and the staff was very attentive. They surprised him with a congratulations cupcake. Great evening, really enjoyed it. Thanks Lola!
Simply phenomenal. We arrived for a late meal and I honestly thought the staff would hate us for keeping them late. Not at all - the service was role-model quality, and I’ve never felt so welcomed and appreciated. My co-workers and clients were beyond pleased with the entire experience! Also, for anyone thinking they would not find a delicious vegan option here, think again. I have never tasted a more delicious vegetable dish than their winter vegetable plate ... it was so delicious that I had to ask our server to confirm that it was indeed vegan. Thank you, thank you, thank you for an outstanding, best-in-class evening!
Just stellar! We were visiting from out of town. Awesome ambiance. Amazing flavors. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sturgeon was unique. Don’t pass on the lobster and shrimp kielbasa. Way to go Michael!
excellent business dinner, duck meatloaf and hanger steak great, smoked prime rib , well tasted smoky. fantastic potatoes and good wine selection. service exceptional.
Best restaurant in Cleveland. Attention to detail on all food and the preparation. Cocktails were amazing!
From the time we finished our bread and appetizers until the main course was served - was at least 40 minutes! When the main course (prime steak) was finally served, it was not hot...room temperature. ..Very disappointed.
We had tickets for a show at Playhouse Square and were pushed to get there in time for the show.
We will go to Mabel’s BBQ in the future!
Always wonderful experience. Service was excellent (Bethany?) especially because of the care and concern for my food allergies. Dishes were unique .
We had awesome food and waiter was very attentive
We Were in Cleveland to celebrate our wedding anniversary and loved every bite at Lola’s , so much in fact we went back the next night. Keep up the good cooking!! Will definitely go back when in town.
Great birthday celebration @ Lola’s. Attentive staff and great cooks making awesome dinners
Food was good but didn’t live up to the hype. Serve was excellent the staff is very well trained. Overall I have to say I was underwellmend
Interesting food selections.
Delicately balanced and nuanced flavors.
Potatoes a little heavy on the sea salt.
We had a very good meal at Lola. Everyone enjoyed the food. Service was good and attentive without being annoying. At little loud at first but it calmed over time. Definitely will be back.
I spend most of my time spit between NYC and San Francisco, And for those folks who think that innovative cooking only takes place there are so wrong. Lola was a great treat for the senses, Imaginative combinations of ingredients spectacularly prepared and presented.
Service was amazing.
I may come back to cleveland just of visit Lola's
Food and service was excellent!!
My wife and I enjoyed the décor and the vibe of the restaurant. The food was well prepared and tasted good. But, neither of us were not blown away by the flavor profiles of our dishes.
Service was excellent and the food was superb. We got the Beef Cheek Pieorgi and the Filet with Alaskan King Crab on top followed by a smores dessert.
Atmosphere was a little loud for my liking and it didn't come off as much of a romantic spot as I was hoping, but overall experience was well above average and worth the price we paid.
Had not been in awhile. Still great food. Loved the changes. Staff quick when person broke wine glass next to us.
