Local is a modern American steakhouse and bar located on Jackson’s historic Town Square. The menu features both classic and specialty cuts of locally ranched meats and wild game alongside fresh seafood and shellfish, custom house ground burgers and seasonally inspired food. Owned and operated by Chefs Will Bradof and Paul Wireman of Trio, An American Bistro, Local showcases their passion for in-house butchery, with a focus on dry aged steaks, house-made sausages, an extensive wine list and an abundance of locally sourced products. Food innovative. Only issue we had was with waiter who seemed competent in most regards but kept forgetting some of our order!

One of the best meals I've ever had! The ribeye was cooked spot on (med rare) with the brussel sprouts coming out as the most delicious that I have ever tasted. I also thought the wild mushrooms were delicious and a hefty portion. Thanks Local

Don’t get what the hype is about. I ordered the French onion soup and it was all onions and bread... where was the soup. My husband had the wedge salad.. couldn’t find the bleu cheese and the dressing tasted more like Ranch dressing. Hubby had the wagyu sirloin and wasn’t impressed. I will say the French fries were awesome. Dessert was an apple crisp.. bland floury dough on top of baked apples.. it wasn’t a crisp at all but more like an apple pie. Thank goodness it had ice cream because that at least gave what would have been a dry dessert some moisture. Not impressed at all.

Excellent in every respect. Food was very creative, well prepared and delicious. The crispy pork shank and Brussels sprouts were standout dishes. Wine list was very good - creative, with unusual choices, excellent selection by the glass. Did not have a cocktail but the cocktail list also looked great with interesting drinks. Service was oustanding - our server was Monique. Modern comfortable atmosphere. Just a really nice meal.

Great evening all in all. I do not appreciate when the tip is set at the level it was set. The service for $150 tip was not equivalent.

Muy mal servicio, comida fria y mala. Los postres lo peosr. Extremely bad service, cold food and terrible deserts. Two years ago it used to be a good choice. What happen?

The overall ambiance was nice, but overall value not worth it. I ordered the 8oz filet medium (due to pregnancy) and it was more like medium well to almost well done. For $40 this is not acceptable. Honestly one of the worst filets I've had in a long time. Felt the cost to quality ratio was not worth it. If looking for a good steak I would recommend other locations in town such as The White Buffalo.

NIce decor, table was ready. It was crowded and noisy and a crying baby deterred from a nicer dining experience. But our major bummer was WAY too much Tarragon on otherwise delicious steaks. If I'd known they used it, I'd have asked to have it left off. A little is fine, but this overpowered the flavor of the nice beef. Too bad! Wait and back staff were awesome.

Love this place, never had a bad dinner. Tonight we had the trout amandine, the buffalo short rib pasta, Brussels sprouts. Everything was wonderful. All desserts looked incredible but we had to say no. Top of my list for dinner spots for out of town guests...and treating ourselves.

Service was quick and pleasant. Our waitress forgot to bring the sides we ordered but also didn’t charge us for them. Actually, we were satisfied without them, so it all worked out. Attractive atmosphere and very pleasing dishes.

Loved having our winter coats hung up for us. Would have liked server to be more interested in telling us about the menu items, for example, I had to ask what was fish of the day. Table view was of town square and people watching-very nice. Trout almandine was very salty and a little oily. Was able to finish eating it, however, we would not get it again. Desserts were outstanding and certainly worth repeating.
