Incredible food and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
I and my family were visiting from out of town and thought this would be a great place to enjoy a dinner. What a great pick. Very nice building and great service. Food was outstanding. Parking was limited, but that was not a big issue.
Excellent food that has remained consistent and of high quality for more than a decade. In my opinion, they deserve a Michelin Star.
Great meal again, although the menu is now shorter due to COVID. Tim was an
Wife's filet was mostly gristle, they did replace it, but took about 25 minutes, and everyone else was done and just waiting for her, which made her feel she must hurry her dinner. They did discount the meal by 30 %, but that did not make the experience any better. They service was a bit slow.
Great food hard to find a parking spot and the table for 2 should be a table for one. Very tight. Food was really good and plenty of flavor. Scallops were perfect
Great place to take out of town guests! The service was friendly and prompt. You will enjoy dining at the Local Chop and Grill House.
The food was outstanding and our server was excellent. I would have given 5 stars except that during our meal three intoxicated men were placed near our table (one actually fell out of his chair!). They were loud and using foul language. Fortunately they were moved to a table farther away after about 30 minutes. However, it was disappointing that the restaurant owner was then seated in our area and bought the three drunks another round of alcoholic beverages. We were told that they were "regulars" which is not a good adverstisement for the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others if they had a policy to ban obnoxious drunks from the premises.
We again enjoyed our meal. The only negative was the desert too a long time to arrive.
On Tuesday my husband and I eloped in Shenandoah National Park, and we chose Local Chop & Grill House for our celebratory dinner with my parents. We had the best dining experience! They adhered to all of the COVID guidelines, and the staff was welcoming & friendly. To start, we had the picnic platter, fried green tomatoes, and albondigas - all delicious. For our entrees, everyone had different cuts of steak, all of which were deliciously tender & cooked to order. I also added 2 scallops with my filet order, and they were cooked to perfection. Throughout the night, our server went above & beyond to ensure that our wedding dinner was special, which we will never forget. We will definitely be returning in the future!
Food and service were amazing. Open-air patio was a wonderful option
This is the best restaurant in Harrisonburg. I simply love going there because the food is always delicious, the service terrific, and it's so quiet with only half capacity.
Every aspect of dining at Local Chop & Grill House was excellent. Our server, Michelle, was knowledgeable and attentive. The meal was beyond impressive. The bar is well stocked, and the cocktails were something to be savored as their own contribution to the experience. The lower dining area felt special yet a part of the greater restaurant. I will certainly be returning.
Extremely so social place with a warm menu and a great drink menu. Excellent cocktail or before dinner drinks, and a great after dinner drink menu. Perfect for great socializing within your group.
First time going here, food was very good! Quiet settings, it was great for a date night.
We had a great dinner. The service was great and the food Fantastic.
So worth it! Ended up there 2 nights in a row on a recent trip
The service and food was superb! With summer coming to an end, we opted to request outside seating. The esthetic was gorgeous - the only downfall was the flies that came in once our food was delivered. My mom and I both ended up with flies in our glasses of wine. Our server and the bartender were incredibly kind and replaced our wine, along with giving us napkins to cover the new glasses. Aside from the uninvited guests, everything was superb!
Service and atmosphere were wonderful. Our wait person was professional yet friendly and helpful. We felt "safe" as far as Covid -- the distancing and mask policy. My meal was not my favorite meal I've had at Chop House, but it was still very good. My salmon was seasoned a little too much for me and I didn't love the succotash. I only say this b/c my past experiences have been perfection -- at least to my palate! Thanks for providing a safe and special dining experience during these unique times!
We enjoyed dinner on the outdoor patio. Great steak and sides. Appreciated the careful COVID related compliance by staff.
Blueberry gastrique was delicious on literally everything, and the bread is a game changer.
The food was very good. The light could have been a little brighter.
food was excellent, service was great. Only issue was we ate outside and the flies were horrible. Recommend putting up a screen to keep them out.
Our server was Chris he observes rule in place due to Covid 19 and still provided good service. My husband had the ribeye and grilled shrimp . He enjoyed the dish. I had shrimp and grits which were very flavorful.
I hope this was their off night. The rib eye was awful. The lady behind me tried two and ended up with salmon. I heard her husband state that it was not very good. It had so much fiber and fat which made it impossible to cut. You had to tear it apart. I had eaten there quite a few times in the past, but this was certainly not worth the money. Don't plan on going back
Beautiful place, beautiful atmosphere.
The food was great and priced well for such a higher quality restaurant in the area. Presentation was beautiful, service was awesome.
This is our go-to celebration place and the only restaurant where we feel comfortable eating indoors, durin the pandemic.
Great dinner! Was only in town for 1 night and glad we chose here for our meal!
Food was delicious, our server was excellent, and loved the outdoor dining! We will definitely be dining here on our next visit to Harrisonburg!
Just miss the pre-COVID menu.
Our dining experience was overall very good. Our waiter was excellent. The bread was delicious. Our filet had a little too much marble.
Very good food and good service. We will return when we are in Harrisonburg
Beautiful patio, great server. Lots of fun and good food!
Food was delicious, and good service. They enforced mask and distancing rules. We will definitely visit again!
Parents dine out. Rare occasion.
A favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg! Great quality food and service! Highly recommend!
This was an epicurean delight. When we approached the restaurant, we felt as if we were in a very run down part of Harrisonburg, a city we had never been to. However, when we walked nto the restaurant we already felt as if we had landed in OZ. The restaurant was in what appeared to be an old factory building that had been re-purpose. The brick and wood inside were beautiful. The food was amazing, especially the focaccia bread. Do not be deceived by the surrounding area. Take a chance and enjoy this food… You will not be disappointed.
Timing seemed to be off between servers and kitchen. One hour wait to be served salads. Entrees came out about 10 minutes after salads, causing both salad and entree plates being on the table at the same time. A second glass of wine and mixed cocktail was received after entree was finished.
Food was not cooked properly and had to wait forever for the food. Bread was torn pieces of bread that was brought out while it took 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The chicken wings were good but the steaks were under cooked and very tough and no flavor. We were informed by our person delivering to food to table that we were cutting wrong. Would have expected much better for the cost of the meal.
