Great food and wonderful ambiance
Servers are always great, complementing the food and the ambience.
Had a fabulous lobster-centric meal, and since it was Restaurant Rally week, treated ourselves to an appetizer and starter salads in addition to our entrees. Everything was delicious, and our server was a real professional, checking back frequently and making sure we had everything we needed. He truly helped make this a pleasant and special occasion, and got a tip that represented the 30% discount we had received for the Restaurant Rally program.
Impossible to beat The Lobster Shop for great food and outstanding service.
Good atmosphere. Lobster was rubbery, calamary was like frozen fish sticks, but the dip was good. Great waitress!
Wonderful food and setting. So glad we were able to get in before the shut down! Can’t wait to go again!
Our server Honor was awesome. Very polite and attentive. Ordered the filet but had to be sent back because it was undercooked. They fixed it no issues. Overall flavor of plate was bland. Had a side crab leg which was delicious! If I were to go back based strictly on service, absolutely... but the food wasn't all that great for the price in my opinion.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday. Our server, Cedra, was very personable, friendly, and gave us great service—checked on us often enough to not be a bother but enough to provide great service. We were very happy to have her as a server and would highly recommend her and the Lobster Shop South. It was a great day—weather, view, ambiance and food.
The food was great, our server was wonderful. She was very attentive and had lots of recommendations for entree choices.
We loved our server and the food was delicious and beautifully plated.
Great meal . Service was very good indeed. Unfortunately there were very few patrons the night we booked. It was a shame
While the views are better during the daytime, even at night it is peaceful. Food is fantastic-especially the lobster bisque.
Prices are moderate but a good value for such a high quality restaurant.
Will definitely come back.
My favorite restaurant. Celebrated our Anniversary. Food and service amazing.
We had a lovely waterside table. This was our first indoor dining experience during the pandemic.
It appeared the restraint staff had taken every effort to keep us safe.
Our food was excellent. Our server professional and pleasant.
The lobster shop is my favorite Tacoma restaurant.
The perfect 54th Anniversary complemented with servings of 10, 20, 30 and 40 year old Port. What to do for our 55th.

Our experience at Lobster Shop was awesome! Jodi was the best and we loved the food. My personal fav was calamari, which was highly recommended by Jodi. Drinks were great! Awesome place to celebrate my GF b-day. We will be back!
Excellent COVID protocol, food and service. We were promptly and warmly greeted by the hostess, she kept distancing while taking us to the table, and thanked us on our way out. She happily accommodated my request for an out of heavy traffic table, and asked if we were happy with the one she had for us. Cocktails well-made and served promptly. The lobster and King crab were both cooked perfectly, were fresh and flavorful. . Our waiter was the only one serving our table, minimizing the exposure risk which was appreciated. He was friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Overall a great dining experience.
One simple word. - Perfect.
Nices people spoiled us from beginning to end.
Perfect amount of food that tasted, well... perfect!
Well worth the money.
Very enjoyable. Service was excellent! Both the lobster and steak were done very well.
The taste of the food was a lot different then I was expecting. I thought I was going for the food but paid more for the beautiful views
Lobster and filet were perfect! Sides were okay but not great. Service was Excellent! Very friendly, knowledgable, and timely. Will definitely eat here again!
The background music was way too loud and the food was overpriced and did not taste good.
Our server was great.
We always enjoy dining at the Lobster Shop. Excellent food, great service and good value. Nice atmosphere.
Had a lovely lunch - originally going to get it to go but the staff and atmosphere were so friendly stayed and had a delicious meal. Food was delicious and service attentive to what we wanted to experience.
Okay, so first off this place is definitely not in the "$30 and under" category unless you're limiting yourself to water and an appetizer. Even the cheapest entree that includes some protein clocks in at close to $30. If you're eating dinner and planning to leave a tip, your meal for one is not going to be less than $30.
A more realistic representation of pricing: dishes are a-la-carte and portion sizes are not especially large, so you're likely to want to get one or two items from the secondary menu categories in addition to your entree. It's fancy, so you're probably going to get a drink, too. Most entrees were like $35 to $50. Getting chicken? Expect $25-$30. I'd venture to guess that the average person drops $45 on their entree, with pricier combos pushing $100. Add in a drink (~$12), a starter (~$17), a soup, salad, or dessert (~$10), and you're probably going to spend $75+ per person. It's good food, and I'm not saying it's not worth the price, but it's a $30 meal the way that McDonald's is $1 meal if you order off the dollar menu.
That said, the atmosphere was nice and the food was consistently quite good. This is a great venue for special occasions. Mixed drinks were so-so -- I'd recommend well drinks or wine. I arrived too late to take advantage of the view (the windows reflect the interior when it's dark out), so keep that in mind if you're planning dinner here, especially in the drearier parts of the year. Service was serviceable, but not amazing.
In summary, this is a great choice for fresh seafood and a solid one for dinner along most dimensions, provided you're happy to splurge on it.
food was excellent, service was flawless and of course you can't beat the view
Our dinner was very good but it was so very cold in the restaurant that we couldn’t enjoy ourselves. We normally
Linger and have several drinks but we were so miserable that we just scarfed down our food and left.
Nice work by the entire staff. The restaurant was clean, food was very good and the service was amazing. Diane was our server and she made our night memorable.
We will be back for sure!
The food tasted ok, not great. Got grilled Mahi Mahi stuffed with crab. The fish was cooked perfectly but tasted no crab, only too much cream cheese. The broccolini was delicious. The lobster bisque was good but it would have been nice to have a little whole lobster in/on top of the bowl to round it out. The clam chowder was also good but a tad salty. The caesar salad was so overdressed that the lettuce seemed wilted.
We arrived at 7:45 and were told that the kitchen closed at 8:00 so we had to order quickly. Service was fast but felt rushed.
From gentleman who sat us was so delightful, he had us laughing from the moment we walked in.The service was amazing, he was very attentive, he’s timing on serving our appetizer to the lobster bisque and our entree was on point. The food is amazing, the lobster bisque we highly recommend, lobster carbonara was perfection and the Maine lobster was 100!
Amazing experience as always!
Our waiter was superb. The whole restaurant was very clean and very well arranged according to Covid19 standards. My only suggestion would be to wipe down door handles and stair rails very frequently. We had such an enjoyable time which we needed in this difficult time. Thank You!
First real outing with clients and this was an amazing place! Staff and quality were fantastic and we all felt very safe.
Food and service was outstanding!
Would recommend updating your web site which still lists the twilight menu. We chose the restaurant based on that availability given it was a group meeting after work. We understand that it is challenging with Covid and understand the decision to not offer a twilight menu; it just would have been better to be knowledgeable about that prior to arrival.
Food was amazing. Service was also amazing. The lobster dip itself is worth going back for. Thank You!
Beautiful view of the water and the city lights. The atmosphere is relaxing and sophisticated. The food is absolutely outstanding! Every dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was fabulous as well!
Will be back very soon and highly recommend it!
Always great food and customer service at the Lobster Shop. Our families favorite
We sat on the patio with a breathtaking view of Mt Ranier. The device was well and the food yummy. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.
We've been coming to Lobster shop for years. Quality has always been good. Service always good. View outstanding. That's why we keep coming back.
I was nervous with covid Lobster shop might close. I'm glad they're still open.
Had the best service and we were running late, and they were able to work us right in. The food was amazing we had 4 different dinners and everyone was impressed with the food. We will start going here more, can not find better service and food.
