Expensive, but worth every damn penny. The food is always phenomenal and professional friendly service to compliment.
I met my book club for lunch and we all had wonderful meals. We were able to discuss our book with minimal interruptions and our server was very respectful to give us the appropriate attention. I would highly recommend lunch, dinner and brunch at the Lobster Shop.
We had a large party and the setup and staff were so nice and accommodating. It was a very nice evening!
Our first time at the Lobster Shop and we were not disappointed. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. And of course, the waterfront view at sunset was beautiful.
Food was good except crab cakes were underwhelming
Service and ambiance great
Cudos to the Lobster Bisque
Kyle made the best lemon drop cocktail, and was a perfectly wonderful server. He went to great lengths to make our occasion particularly memorable. Thanks, Kyle!
We had a great experience and fabulous food. It was a great place to celebrate our 28th anniversary. We had a wonderful night.
The menu choices are extensive and outstanding and for patrons seeking a full range from appetizer to dessert this wonderful place is for you. My wife and I were celebrating our 56th anniversary and the staff, atmosphere, food and drink were just what we needed. Our menu choices included the Seafood Sampler, fish and chips, and a lobster dish and all were tasty, ample in size and healthy. We paired the food with a lovely Prosecco which was flattering to the food. We’d do this again since there are many other dishes we want to try, but won’t be waiting until our 57th!!
The food was amazing and we had excellent service for our Mom’s birthday lunch!
Friendly service but not refined. They could use more training for staff about how to provide excellent service (keeping water filled, checking bread levels, etc.) I love this location and use it for business and birthdays, but I wish the service was a little more professional. I stood at the front door, hands full with gift bags, a large gift, and the hostess just looked at me; did not offer to open door.
Our server was great but the food was bland.
A great place for a business dinner or date with your partner. Food was excellent, fresh local ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff with a nice atmosphere for general conversation. Definitely check it out.
I always enjoy the Lobster shop. It's one of t he better resturants on the waterfront
The brunch here is unbelievable!!! So fabulous!!! Xoxo. Everything I tried was simply the best! I had the Prime Rib, Shrimp Cocktail, Crab legs, Blackened Catfish, Lobster Bisque, Eggs Benedict, Candied Pecan Bacon Bloody Mary, House Coffee and several little desserts. Everything was so yummy. Sometimes at a brunch buffet just a few food items will stand out but not here.... At the Lobster Shop Sunday Brunch Buffet everything I tried was top notch and delicious. They even have a Chocolate Fountain! Service was excellent, beautiful decor and the views are stunning. It was perfect. If your in Tacoma WA then this restaurant should be on your list of places not to miss and especially the Brunch ♥️🌈🍓🥩🧀🥓🍳🥐🍤🍮🍰🍹🥂💋
The food was so-so but the server, Kyle, was outstanding...the meal was worth it just for Kyle's serving skills.
Nadia was amazing, our food was delicious and the view was great! Will be back
My friends and I took advantage of their Restaurant Week menu, receiving a 3-course lunch for $15. All of the meals were delicous and lived up to The Lobster Shop South's reputation. The meals were delivered in a timely manner and were nice portions.
I guess my only negative comment on the day was that Creme Brulee was on the menu, but we were told that it wasn't ready yet when one of my friends requested that for dessert. She moved on to the Pumpkin Ice Cream selection and was still content.
Best perpared salmon fillet ever says my Alaskan wife!
Very solid brunch. Decent food. Great service. I’ll be back many times. :)
I’ve been coming here for some time now, But one thing for sure you can always count on good food & excellent customer service 👑 The Lobster shop is bomb💯 I absolutely love coming here@ any given time ♥️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 you guys are highly recommend in all aspect♥️♥️♥️ thank you for your warm hospitality
Great view, food, company and service. Celebrated 39th Anniversary with friends from Denver. They were favorably impressed with theeverything. Thank you!
Was our anniversary very dissatisfied
Food ok but service subpower and NJ ouce terribly loud... 😢
Food was amazing. I left satisfied and I'm very picky when it comes to money and the things I pay for.
Food was wonderful as usual! This is one of our favorite places to eat!
Rachael was the best server ever. She looks great after losing 215lbs and her conversation and service was outstanding.
Special date night for my wife and I, they never disappoint,
I was there with my Wife for our 1 year wedding anniversary. She had lobster, which she enjoyed. I ordered the steak, medium. It came out still mooing, blue rare. They offered to re-heat it it. Lol! I don't send food back. For the ridiculous prices they charge someone should know how to properly cook a steak! The evening for me at least was ruined! Never will I go back! And wouldn't recommend anyone else go either.
Incredible food, view and service. We had 12 for dinner to celebrate hubbies birthday. Turned out we were on Early Bird special- wonderful choices that everyone enjoyed. Highly recommend!
The food and service is always of quality and manages to be both classic and innovative.
Food was only ok. My coffee was cold. Boring menu. Overpriced.
We've been here lots of times and its usually very good. One of our favorite places to go in Tacoma. But they were certainly off their game the other night. The restaurant wasn't very busy that evening, but our 3 meals took quite a while to get served. More disappointingly, two of the meals were pretty subpar from what we've gotten accustomed to expecting. While I didn't mention it to our waiter or the front desk - (we were having a social/business meeting), all I'll say is afterwards, when we compared notes, both of us thought our meals were not prepared very well. Our dinner drinks were fine and the location and view are really great, but will chalk it up as an off-night for the Lobster Shop.
We visited for a birthday dinner. My partner had never been and she was impressed. She loved the view of the water and really loved the crab legs and lobster! The blueberry crisp was warm and wonderful! We will be back to try more of the many tempting dishes.
For us seniors the twilight meal is perfect. We typically have the Aglio prawns which are very tasty. The clam chowder is very rich but delicious. If you love dessert take the 3 course option and have the flourless chocolate torte. It is very rich but memorable.
Our first time to the Lobster Shop and we had a wonderful time. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. It's a very nice upscale restaurant and everything was perfect.
The experience was good in most every way except for the food. The shrimp tempura on the appetizer platter tasted old as if it was fried earlier and wasn't prepared to order. The romaine salad had a lot of the white bitter part of the lettuce leaves. We had the chef's lobster tail and seafood brochette which again tasted as though it had been prepared prior to order. The lobster was pretty good albeit a little salty.
Just not the experience we anticipated from a restaurant that touts much better.
We were visiting Tacoma and wanted to have some seafood. Looked up Open Table and found Lobster Shop. It was a beautiful day. The scenery of the water front was lovely. I had the grilled lobster and hubby had the salmon, both were cooked just right. We were there on a Thursday night at 5:30, there were fair amount of patrons, but not crowded. Parking is right in front. We'll be back the next time we are in Tacoma area.
Well unfortunately we started out by being received as a walk in, they never saw my reservation, the notes about my anniversary or my requests.
The appetizers were delicious, but the salad was eh, and the main dishes (main lobster 12 oz) were half the size expected and partly dry on the shell side.
The waitress, however, was super sweet and when we finally told her of my noticeable lack of attention to my reservation, she brought us a free desert with a candle.
So, having been at this restaurant many times, it really disappointed on our anniversary dinner.
This statement will certainly date me: “It’s a couple of level of ‘impressiveness,’ above the old “Top of The Ocean.” (R.I.P.)
I took my 90 ur old mother there for an early dinner with my service dog joining our area, although ALWAYS under the table except for when I need to leave the table. I only offer that to add to what a thoughtful hostess we had who took into consideration as to where, in the general seating area, would be best so the 3 of us would be most comfortable. This is the very first place to ever care enough to actually ask me. It still brings tears of appreciation.
Our server was/is an amazingly gifted lady who provided an idea for a nice adult beverage for both my mother and myself. She did exceptionally well.
My only complaint would be that there was a very rude Seagull who “flipped me the bird,” when I refused to share. (I’m a single dad and my daughter just moved out in her own for the first time. I just couldn’t help myself with the stupid “dad joke,” about the bird. Sorry, not sorry.)
I picked the Lobster Shop for our anniversary dinner because it is a nicer place than we usually go to. Decided to go early enough for the Twilight Dinner Special which is a really good deal. Thought it would not be very crowded but they were pretty busy. Even so, we were seated pretty quickly and everyone was super nice. Once or twice they would apologize for it taking a while but really there was never a time we felt like it was taking any longer than it should have.
Nice to be on the water as the sun was setting, though at one point it rained hard and you couldn't see a thing. Not their fault! Not real close for us, but will keep it in mind for sure in the future. Also making reservation online through Open Table was super easy and convenient.
Lovely setting for any type of gathering. Brunch was wonderful, especially the various benedicts.
