My husband and I had never ate here before. It was well worth the money. Great food and drinks. We enjoyed everything.
The Lobster Shop never disappoints! The food is always good, the service friendly, but not intrusive. The prices are on the high end, but when you can sit down to dinner with a friend or family and be face-to-face with Mr. Rainier, it is worth a bit extra.
If you have a chance to eat here make sure you do it when it’s warm if you are getting a window placement.
EXCELLENT food and service. A little pricey but well worth it.
The food, the service and the view were exceptional.
Great food, excellent service and a view that can’t be beat.
The views were gorgeous. Food was very good. Jodi, our server, was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. All of her recommendations were on point. The wine menu seems to be WA focused and good. We had a great time.
Alaskan Halibut is amazing. Also got the side crab cake which was melt in your mouth delicious.
Here's my explanation:
My wife and I booked an anniversary dinner, and it was a wonderful experience, all told, but...
I must confess sticker-shock when I saw the menu: 1) Lobster Shop no longer offers "sunset dinner" specials we'd enjoyed in the past, though many waterfront places have continued these, 2) the menu was much more limited than I remember, and 3) items that were offered were much more expensive than I'd seen here– the steak and lobster combo was $80, at least 30% more than I recall.
To be fair, our previous dinners here were pre-COVID, and I am sure that accounts for the change. I know most restaurants have made similar changes, but these seemed somewhat more than others we've experienced.
Having said all that, we ordered anyway, and the food was absolutely excellent, as was the service. We had a lovely anniversary dinner. Sadly, at these prices, it may be another year before we can afford such a splurge. That's the sad part of post-COVID, for restaurants and customers– those of us who used to dine out more regularly have multiple reasons for thinking twice about doing so.
The Lobster Shop has a very nice atmosphere and overall good food. At the same time one needs to take into consideration the menu featured on the website is not up to date. I was disappointed to see a more limited menu in person after being seated for a lunch reservation. It would be nice to know in advance what menu selections really exist.
Service was very attentive although I asked for a cup of the lobster bisque as opposed to a whole bowl. The server said she could accommodate with a cup. I failed to pay attention (my BAD) to the fact I was charged for the bowl and not a cup. Shame on the server too!
Our visit to the Lobster Shop was nice and the view is lovely there. Our service was really exceptional and the food was very good.
The LOBSTER SHOP is FABULOUS!! I used to go to their Dash Point restaurant, which we've been told has now closed. I started going there in the early 80's with my ex and we'd go every yr for our anniversary. Now, with husband #2 we just tried the Tacoma site last night, and it's as good as I remember all those years ago... 5 star. Our server named HONOR was so wonderful as well! It's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Took our visiting parents from Ohio there for their 51st Anniversary (was also our 1st time) and everything was phenomenal.
Requested a table on the outside, but was told it was to damp out there so we'd have to dine inside (which is not really safe yet). Five minutes later we watched a couple of women get seated out there: very disappointed since it is the end of Summer and dining outside will be difficult in the next couple of seasons.
Best crab cake I've ever had; unfortunately, the served one crab cake for two people (very strange, never have seen that).
Wonderful table service. I've never left a $40 tip before but she was worth it.
Lobster was very good. Lobster Carbonara was very good too. Combo Louie Salad was very good (blue cheese dressing was wonderful)
Peanut Butter Pie was carried out for desert later in the evening: we would never order that a second time. It tasted like someone tried to make pudding pie: very squishy and was semi melted by the time we got home. Suggest they replace it with Mud Pie (which cannot be carried out) or cheesecake.
The food was great, the waitress was amazing. Will forsure be back again.
Our servers Ashley was great! Knowledgeable of the menu and beverage options. Very friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Food and drinks are very good, it is pricey, so it’s not a weekly date restaurant but maybe once a month for us. We’ve been here a few times and will return in the future. The only con is they run out of something every time we’ve gone, they come back and let us know and we have to pick something else. So have a first choice, and a back up choice.
Great food and great service. Beautiful view.
Sat in a booth on the deck to enjoy perfect weather. Our server was a joy. Personality plus. The 10 oz lobster tail was done perfectly. The strawberry rhubarb crumble was a delight.
Josh was an excellent server and took great care in making sure our dining experience exceeded expectations.
We had a wonderful experience at the Lobster Shop! The menu and food was spot on. We had a birthday girl with us, who was given a special treat with dessert!
Food was good service was kinda slow but all in all good :)
Favorite restaurant because no matter what i order, or what time of the year i go, it is consistently good.
First time visiting The Lobster Shop, and found the food good, but the salmon was not “wild”; the ambience was very good. Overall, a nice dinner, but not on our return to list.
35th Wedding Anniversary
Always delicious, even with our current situation they are not out of any product. Beautiful scenery with excellent service.
The tables have great views. Our waiter was attentive but not overly so. And the food was great— we’ll definitely be back.
We sat out on the deck for date night. Nice quiet with a pretty view. Had a couple speciality drinks, tasty and worth the price, which wasn’t bad. Enjoyed the lobster bisque, only some lobster pieces added in would’ve made it better. Ordered calamari steak strips, excellent, lobster artichoke dip, very good, and lobster crostini excellent too. Never made it to a main course. We were both very happy with everything. Service was also excellent! We will be back.
Sitting on the outdoor patio is always fabulous. This time they tucked us in at a corner inside window booth . Flies everywhere inside our corner. Kind of gross.
Service was great, food selection was great, and food quality was amazing! Been a long time since I've had such a good meal from any restaurant.
Reliably Very Good. The service was super - much better than many other options given Civid.
An outstanding experience! Great food, attentive staff, and spectacular environment. They even gave us a special treat because we are celebrating our anniversary. I would definitely recommend.
Excellent service on a very busy evening. Food was excellent wiht appropriate quantities.
Good food and good service. Thanks for a good night!
Our experience was perfect in every way! We started with French 75 cocktails and the best crabcake I have ever enjoyed. Our entrees (Australian lobster and king salmon) were both fabulous. We ended the evening with delicious key lime pie. It was a fabulous meal made even better by impeccable service from Diane. We can't wait to go back!
Some of the best salmon that I have ever tasted. Perfectly cooked, melted in my mouth. Great lobster dip as well.
We love The Lobster Shop…
This was our first time back since the restrictions due to Covid and we were happy to see that the quality (of the meals, the waitstaff, the ambiance) was still there! They are following all the Covid guidelines…so we will be sure to dine there again!
The meal was excellent. The waitress was friendly, courteous, and professional. I have already recommended the Lobster Shop to friends at work. My wife and I will return.
Amazing food and service. Loved the outdoor accommodations since we aren’t eating indoors due to Covid. Great all around.
