Everything was top notch! Staff made sure to note my preferences and special occasion from my reservation notes! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Amazing food and great service! From the appetizers to the dessert each dish was beautifully presented and the blended of flavors complementing each bite.
Dinner before seeing Elton John. Everyone loved their meals. Food was excellent.
The waiter was great the food was very good got deserts to go
Will definitely go back
They only have bar seating in the afternoon and it's to small. The tdd highlight menu is not worth the money and the quality is more like what I would get from a Dennys or Sharid restaurant. I was extremely disappointed with the New York strip I ordered. The servers were excellent though. They were the saving grace for the restaurant. The appetizers we good but very small portions for the money. The deserts were good. The best I would rate this restaurant is a 21/2 out of 5
There are much better restaurants along Rustin way that are better.
We went on Sunday for the brunch buffet. Overall, everything we tried was disappointing. For almost 40 dollars per person, it is probably the worst value brunch I have been to in Tacoma. If you take cost out of the equation and go off taste alone, it still ranks below DOA, Cactus, The Hob Nob, Wooden City, Top of Tacoma, Montamara Kitchen, etc. Service was alright, but our waitress forgot to put in a order with the kitchen for the classic eggs Benedict. I believe the Lobster Shop brunch is probably getting by on past reputation, location, and the fact that they are one of, if not the only, all you can eat brunches in Tacoma. I won’t be coming back, and I will try to save others from making the same mistake I did.
Wonderful first experience. The appetizer sampler is amazing
We made a reservation for six people and they crammed us into a table for four. The food and waiter service were fine
The food and service were excellent! It was a little pricey but worth it. Of course the location and view are amazing
It’s an amazing place to be with family and enjoy the most delicious meal together.
Great food! Great service! We enjoyed our Anniversary there and really enjoyed the view and everything about the restaurant.
Not sure why the questionaire wont let me give 4 stars... I am giving it 4 stars bc they only have lobster tails, not whole lobsters but the food and service and ambiance were very nice. Also, the noise level was low which allowed for good conversations. Loved the citrus dressing on the baby arugula.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Lobster Shop and had a wonderful Twilight dinner with friends. Our server was awesome, we had great window seating, and my husband received a delicious birthday chocolate sundae. Would highly recommend!
Outstanding place really enjoy brunch, the entire staff was very polite, the food was outstanding esp the salmon and prime rib very clean. Beautiful day to look out into the bay. Everything was perfect
Our waiter Taylor was simply amazing! Very attentive and very pleasant!
Party of 6 for wife’s 42nd birthday. They had a great table with a view ready when we arrived. The staff were friendly and attentive. The server was helpful and knowledgeable. The lobster stuffed mushrooms and lobster bisque were divine! All of our meals were excellent. Two different halibut dishes, steaks, lobster, salmon, and prawns were all delicious. The peanut butter pie was decadent. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be back!
We were greeted right away and sat within minutes. The wait staff was friendly and the food was delicious. From the lobster bisque to the Alaskan crab legs with potatoes and asparagus it was hands down amazing. My husband had the chefs special halibut meal. We ended the night with crème brûlée and we’re so stuffed by the time we got up to go home. We absolutely recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service as it always is when we visit.
Nice dinner. Gave us a great table at the corner of the restaurant over looking the water on a nice day.
Always preferred for special culinary moments given the fine dining, waterview and cordial service.
Beautiful location and great food. Well worth a trip.
Excellent location and food.
Good menu selection especially with the twilight menu. Service was warm and friendly. The A/C was on so bring a sweater!
Lobster Shop is our "go to" place for brunch, lunch, dinner or special occasion with its nice-casual upbeat ambiance and lovely view of the water. It starts with the bread and "to die for" pesto dipping sauce and then gets even better with their Signature Salad. I ordered the cedar plank wild king salmon for my main dish. What I really like about Lobster Shop is how the taste buds are treated to complex layers of flavors from beginning to end. Definitely beats the competition in this area.
The Lobster Shop is a waterfront mainstay for enjoying good food and a tough-to-beat waterfront setting. They have done a nice job of adjusting dishes to keep the menu fresh over the decades.
Food is always great!! Service great. Wish we could have sat outside, but unfortunately it looked like only parties of 4 could be sat at there. Love this place still!
Everything was nice
Wedding Anniversary, it was great.
it is a very good restaurant with great food and good service!
I made a reservation on open table for 8 people. I put a little note requesting a ocean view seating and that it is my brother and sister birthday.. So, I called the restaurant and a host name Sarah, answered my call. I mentioned to Sarah the hostess, that we are celebrating a birthday. I did mentioned to Sarah, that it is my sister and brother birthday. Her response was, “I will make sure to put a note to your server that you are celebrating birthday. " I called a second later just to confirm that we are celebrating a birthday and another female answer my call, and she said we will make sure to let your server know. When I got off the phone I was pleased that Sarah and the other lady who picked up my call made me feel at ease.. we got to the restaurant 20 minutes early. When my family got to the front desk, the hostess was not very welcoming. There was 3 front hostess who was just gossiping and has attitude when other customer had a simple question.. The hostess seems annoyed that the customer asked her a question. Witnessing a poor customer service. Since then, I was already disappointed. The customer service experience was horrible. I would assume since it is somewhat high end restaurant, customer service would be superb but instead it is mediocre at best. Not sure why we waited 30 mins, when it is not even busy. Finally, got seated. Our server was lovely which is the only thing positive that happen that dinner. The sad part, Is our server didn’t even bring up a birthday wish to my sister and brother so I assumed that Sarah the hostess did not give our server a heads up what we are celebrating.. very disappointed. I spent $615 and 35% gratuity, total of $836. I will not fault the server for poor customer service and lack of communication with Sarah and the other lady hostess.. Is eating at Lobster Shop worthed? Not at all, because the negative attitude from the hostess. Customer service is s huge part and they are lacking it. What a horrible customer service.
The food was average at best, but the service was horrible. We had to wait for everything. One of my guests even had to wait a long period of time to get a knife to eat his meal. I travel to Tacoma all the time and I will think twice about eating there again.
I came with with my mom for her 89th birthday celebration. My mom uses a Walker. 1st bad thing. We used the handicapped ramp, and the restaurant had propped open the right door, leading into the restaurant, which blocks the ramp enough, the a person with a Walker does not enter easily. 2nd bad thing. Mom had to use the bathroom. And the chairs in the lobby are so closely spaced, we again couldn't easily get the Walker through and had to move chairs. 3rd bad thing. Once in the restroom, someone was in the handicapped stall (only stall being used when we entered at 430) so we got mom in a regular stall helping her in because this wasnt handicapped accessible. Sure enough, when the person got out of the bathroom, it was a server from the restaurant. Again we came at the start of the dinner seating, and nobody else was in the bathroom. 4th bad thing. When we are being sat, the hostess brings us to the steps leading down to the lower seating area. My mother, and her Walker, are directly behind the hostess. I tell the hostess that my mom obviously cant take her Walker down the stairs, and her reply was to ask I'd we wanted to sit on the upper dining room. I told her we were celebrating my moms birthday and we wanted a view. As I was beginning to bring her Walker down the stairs so I could escort my mom safely down the stairs, another hostess at the desk said there was a ramp they could get. At this point i had already gotten the Walker down and was ready to bring mom down the steps. Our server, James, was most excellent and attentive! The food was so good and mom loved the view. 5th bad thing. When we were leaving the restuarant, the same door is propped open, so to access the ramp, mom needs to swing around and I move the door.
Review your standards with your staff in regards to how to make dining a pleasant experience for ALL guests, regardless of their abilities! There ARE regulations for facilities!
Thank the universe for James and the food!
My steak was over cooked. Wifes crab cake had a substantial amount of shell pieces. Service was okay. View was beautiful!
Best view in Tacoma with attentive service and delicious food.
Perfection! My dad and I dined here for the first time to celebrate what would have been his and my mom's 44th anniversary if she were still alive. We wanted a special experience, and the Lobster Shop did not disappoint! Making a reservation was quick and easy online, even when we changed the time. We were seated at or near the reservation time and immediately attended by our friendly, attentive waiter. The food came quickly and was absolutely delicious! We had the cedar plank salmon that just melted in our mouths. There were no issues when my dad asked for butter for the bread and mashed potatoes instead of wild rice. Dessert was equally exceptional. The flourless chocolate cake was fudgy and rich, and the ice cream on top was fantastic. My dad, a major cheesecake fan, declared his strawberry cheesecake one of the best. We loved the gorgeous views all around and overall lovely atmosphere combined with delicious food and top-notch service. We will be back! Friends of ours decided to eat here on our recommendation, too. Thank you!
Our server was particularly knowledgeable, compliant with requests, and attendant to detail.
Two birthdays being celebrated and I put that in my comments when making the reservations. The server had no idea of the birthdays. In the past the server's would acknowledge the celebration.
As always dinner was great as was the view and service. Th appetizer was the only part that was not outstanding. We ordered the sampler platter which was not as god as ordering separate items as they all were a bit mushed together
The ambience is very nice, with a view of the water. The food was very good, and the service outstanding from our server, Saydra. I would definitely recommend this place for a special night out.
