Lloyd's Ratings and Reviews
I love coming here before going to the opera. Great location, food & drinks. They are very accommodating as we arrived very early for our reservation. The place was packed and a holiday party was going on. Still good service in spite of them being super busy. Love the warm atmosphere too!
I was always hesitant to go to this restaurant due to their non-existent vegetarian options. However the last time I attended this restaurant they changed their menu which includes several options for vegetarians. I was very pleased and now I don't have second thoughts about making reservations for this restaurant.
Good value, and a very good choice for a pre-opera dinner. My only complaint was with the iceberg wedge salad. We both ordered it, and both salads came with what seemed to be a small tablespoon of blue cheese dressing. We requested more dressing, and the waiter happily brought more.
Always busy on opera nights, when everyone needs to eat at the same time and be across the street for a 7:30 curtain, so service can be slow. Food is generally quite good, though last night the chicken pieces in my salad were very dry, and there wasn't enough dressing on it. Fairly priced for a downtown restaurant.
Vegetables were not hot. Not the broccoli on my plate or my wife’s vegetable entree. My mahi-mahi was fine, but I suspected the vegetables were put on the plate and let sit until the fish was finished. Service was slow. Wait staff was observed having private conversations — and even blocking the path customers wanted to use to leave the restaurant.
Lloyd's was fine as a business meal, though it is overpriced and the wait staff tries to pick up your dishes before you've even finished them as if to move you out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. If I'm going to pay $20+ for a meal, you'd think they would be a little more courteous in that respect.
We had a 8pm reservation and the place was empty. Service was very slow as they were cleaning and getting ready to close at 9pm. The food was good but we felt like we were more of a nuisance. It is likely a great place to be earlier in the night but expect to be a thorn if you get there late.
Went to Lloyds for pre opera dinner with family including two teenagers. Service was outstanding and food delicious. Fun ,comfortable atmosphere. Spacious dining room . Right across from the Lyric Opera and offering parking . Perfect for a pre performance dinner.
Always a delightful AND affordable meal. Pre-opera throughout the season so they fill up and the staff knows what's up so their timing is impeccable. Friendly, professional, validated parking and eager to attend to and please any palate. The menu is simple and uncomplicated. Some of the best hamburgers, corned beef as well as beef tenderloin and fancier-type food selections. Hard to do but leave room for desserts. They are special and filling.
I think this is a great place with a wonderful location. Perfect, of course, for the Lyric Opera fan. Downtowners and those leaving the many office buildings.
I want to emphasis that the desk staff, waiters, buss boys and kitchen staff work together to provide an incredible meal... usually in a short period of time. Makes me wonder how they do it??!!
Our server handled what seemed like a whole half of the restaurant, and she did so with a smile. I also appreciated that way she looked guests in the eye when communicating. That helped with my friend, who is a senior. We'll definitely be back before the next opera!
We were running a little late, but they had our table ready and waiting. The server was very pleasant and attentive but it was the food that won the night! I had steak and cake. It was the best steak I have ever eaten!! Cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The crab cake was excellent and the sides were wonderful. To top everything off, we were surprised with a birthday dessert! Would definitely go back and would recommend highly!
