Always a nice ambience as dining is split into smaller rooms to cut down on noise. This was a Birthday Dinner but, unfortunately, our Server missed some of our order as we did not get our Appetizer nor did we get the additional veggies that he asked if we wanted to add. We didn't get charged and overally if we had them the amount of food would have been way more than what we could consume. However, it was missed so had to mention these two things as being missed and totally on the Server. Food was still fantastic.

Our server explained the menu and answered all our questions. When we asked her what the house specialty was, she said " warm oysters". They were flavorful and definitely warm (which we were not accustomed to), give it a try but we wouldn't order it again. From start to finish everything was delicious. It was super busy for a Tuesday night but the noise level was moderate and ambience was mature, business casual and in general a good vibe ! Thanks for making a 50th birthday dinner special :)

Everything was very good. I cannot drink coffee so our waitress found a very good tea for me. Next time, we will go earlier as there were only ends of the roast beef left at 1:30. Fresh fruit was limited with no strawberries, raspberries or blueberries - just melons. I would have had waffles if there had been some fruit to go along with them. I liked the crepe bar. The desserts were very good. Service was very good and we enjoyed the music that was playing softly in the background.
I always love going to the Hotel Macdonald - Sunday Brunch in the Empire Ballroom! The food is amazing and I loved our waiter Sunday March 31st. Hassom! He was awesome! It's a great place to go for special occasions! Check it out!

The quality of food was excellent except for the roast beef, which was a bit tough and overdone. It was slow for a Sunday, so "overcook-by-heat-lamp" was a likely contributor. For a buffet style restaurant, the variety was less than expected. However, the good food, friendly and relaxed service, elegant ambience, and gorgeous lake view should help to overlook any such blemish. I swear there's not a single table in the restaurant with a "bad view."
