This was my second visit to Linwood’s and once again we had a great dining experience. I chose Linwood’s for my birthday celebration. Hostesses we’re friendly, server was professional, knowledgeable about the menu and the food was expertly prepared. I love this restaurant and will return!
Consistently delicious food and top notch service. Great atmosphere. Will return!
Because of jobs that I have had, I have been able to eat at some of the world's great restaurants. I have dined three times at Linwoods. I would put it among my all time favorites. It is great in every way!
As always, consistently great. Even with new servers.
Excellent as always...our favorite Baltimore area restaurant.
We visited Linwoods for my parent’s 71st wedding anniversary luncheon. Everything, from the moment we entered to the closing of the door behind us as we left, was perfect. Unbelievable crab soup! The 3 course lunch offering was perfectly prepared and just the right quantity. Special recognition is given to the wait staff, especially Mr ClayCombe, who made my parents’ luncheon that much more special.
Food, service, menu choices, to ambience was great.
We have been patrons of Linwoods for about 8 years and have always enjoyed this venue. The food quality ranges from good to terrific, and the accompanying prices reflect the quality of the offered dining experience.
The bar staff is excellent and very competent, and the wine list is of high quality. Linwoods is one of Baltimore's classiest restaurants, and the food offerings are varied and almost always well-prepared.
Probably one of the finest meals I have had. Never knew a pork chop could taste so good and be so tender. My wife had the glazed salmon which was equally good. It’s a very nice restaurant that is always at the top of every Baltimore list and rightfully so. My only knock, yet still giving it five stars, is the limited number of Cabernets on the wine list....particularly under $100! Plenty of excellent ones out there.
Great as always - crab pizza was the best ever! S’mores dessert was perfect.
Upon my visit to Linwoods, I was informed by my dinner party that the restaurant had been in existence for over two decades, and was something of a cultural establishment in Baltimore. And with a reported pedigree of quality established over those twenty years, I entered the meal with high expectations. I am glad to say the venue did not disappoint. Bartenders and wait staff were of the highest quality. The food itself was superb. There were no complaints to be had amongst our group with regards to the meal. Great experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Linwoods, so long as you take no contention with the menu prices.
Food and service were outstanding! Our waitress was Al, and she was fabulous and took good care of us. My husband and I were married at Linwood’s 9/4/11. With a heavy heart, he passed away 20 weeks ago so my girlfriends brought me there to celebrate. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening, except having him with us. Thank you SO much!
Always a first class meal and service. Excellent food and atmosphere. Great dining experience
It wasn’t exactly a special occasion, but my boyfriend was out of town and he doesn’t appreciate restaurants like yours. I had a gift certificate and figured my mother would enjoy a nice dinner. I called ahead and asked for a quiet spot, which we got, so that was nice because my mother can’t hear well in a noisy place. It was kind of cold in there; that’s really my only complaint. We did have sweaters with us, so that helped. Our waiter was Zach. I really liked him because he spoke super clearly and was just nice in general. We had to wait a little while to get dessert menus, but we could see that Zach was really busy and we weren’t in a rush. Food was excellent. Thank you for a lovely dinner.
Amazing! Always a fantastic meal and the service is understanding!
Loved our server Holly!! The meal was outstanding!
Always a favorite! What can I say that I haven’t said many times before!
Lunch was delicious. Had grilled chicken salad- substituted grilled shrimp. Salad was delicious, but small for $21. We sat outside/ waitress was wonderful.
Was overall disappointed. Food was mediocre, service was fair. We had to ask for items we requested. The fries were way too salty, string beans were bland, fish was slightly over cooked. Meal was way to expensive for quality and portions. A disappointment.
The only, ONLY, issue was the portion size of the Butter rubbed Tuna. For the price you would expect a larger portion, though the cook and flavor was exceptional. Think our waitress was Anne, she was amazing considering she was working like 3 tables.
It was our 25 anniversary and Linwood’s came highly recommended. The hostess who sat us was lovely. Our table was great, located at the back of the restaurant which was ideal as I didn’t know Linwood’s had an open kitchen. I dislike restaurants where I can see the cooks and hustle and bustle. I go out to get away from the kitchen, not sit in one. The menus were already on our table so we began to read them. We did not realize we had been given the incorrect price fix menu, it actually was the lunch menu. The waitress that served us was abrupt, and rather abrasive. She briskly told us that we had the wrong menu. And that the menu was basically the same but the price would be $42 rather than the advertised $31. She barely listened to us. Brought us the dinner price fix menu. Once we thought we had decided on our choices she came back and as we were ordering she blurted out that they were out of the item my husband was planning on ordering and that the salad I wanted couldn’t be made with burratta cheese. Sooooo we had to revisit the menus again. We finally decided and ordered. It was all a whirlwind filled with bad service and unfortunate events. Won’t be back.
Consistent service snd quality food
Linwood’s has the secret sauce for success. It’s consistently great. One of my all time favorites.
After three visits worthy of five stars the easy conclusion is that Linwoods is consistently excellent and highly recommended. Looking forward to the next visit.
Salmon waa overcooked and it waa very pricy for the portion size.
If you don't mind the gnats and waiting 35 minutes for your meal, it was great!
Always a great experience at Linwoods. Incredible service and food.
Robbie, our server, was incredible. The food was beautifully presented and outstanding in taste.
Linwood’s never disappoints. We had just sold our home of 30+ years and were celebrating moving on to the next chapter in our lives. I noted this in the reservation but wasn’t really expecting anything. We were so surprised to get the best table in the house, they acknowledged the occasion and brought us a celebratory dessert. The service was stellar and the food scrumptious.
Our visit was perfect. The tomatoes and buratta were beautifully done. Many different pieces to the dish and all complemented one another well. My entree was salmon with some sort of slaw, wasabi peas and tortilla strips. A perfect combination. My wife had a steak that required another quick run under the broiler. Well handled by our server.
The desserts were very good and finished off a great meal.
Wonderful food. The filet was perfectly cooked and the salmon my daughter had was excellent. The atmosphere is always relaxing and service attentive. Great place for a celebration dinner or just to unwind.
Our entire group had an excellent meal. The servers were pleasant and helpful. The food was superb.
Amazing food coupled with outstanding service makes Linwoods #1 year after year.
The server tended to forget about our table when the table for about 8 people arrived. The water glasses were not refilled until I was able to signal to the young man with a pitcher after having requested refills from the server. The table for 8 was extremely noisy including passing around a cell phone on speaker so they could wave and yell at whomever was on the phone. Very, very annoying to all the tables around them.
Normally, these things mentioned do not happen at Linwoods. The hostess very graciously took the desserts off the bill to compensate for the rude behavior of the large table. We realize that the management cannot control the behavior of guests but when all the tables around the ones making the noise are looking daggers at them, one would think they would get a message. We still love Linwoods and this incident will in no way stop us from dining there.
Downtown style restaurant with a suburban location.
Food was excellent and as always outstanding service by Barbara
Great food. We had to wait for our entree for about 90 minutes from the time we ordered. The waiter and manager were very nice about it, apologized and took care of our bill. That was a pleasant surprise.
Always a great meal and wonderful service
If you just want really good food, in a setting where you can hear what your dinner partners are saying, and quality service- then head to Linwoods. There is a reason it has been around for so long. After a long day, we settled into a great dinner. Cocktails were great and our server suggested a bourbon that was spot on to our tastes. The beet salad is really good, it is a change up from the usual and customary. Ditto the burrata cheese and tomato salad. These were our starters. The onion soup had loads of baked cheese on top and is rich in flavor and not over salted. The iceberg salad is classic but Linwoods does it better. I often forget the citrus tuna up in the corner of the menu. It was so fresh and rich in flavor, it easily cut with a fork even though it was rare as requested. Another classic, the crab cake, maintained its star quality. No dessert this night but a really good evening
Wonderful meal as expected from Linwoods. We went for restaurant week. The selection was excellent. The wine pairings were very good, economical offerings. Food preparation is always very, very fine. The service was friendly and attentive, but not fussy. I like the decor, flow, and noise level. There just isn't anything to complain about. This must be one of Baltimore's top restaurants.
