The food and service was excellent
For starters, great martinis. The food was excellent although had to send both back due to temp of food (like warm, vs very hot). Was a little disappointed in the service. Had to wait about 15 minutes to meet our server, although others approached the table. Also was ready to bring check forgetting I ordered dessert. Also remembered late that or was my wife's birthday celebration.
Great service. Meals, as always, prepared to perfection.
Special dessert for birthday celebration .
Definitely a great place for special occasions.
If I were to write a review on this dining occasion, I'm afraid my review would be less than enthusiastic.
Linwood's is always my favorite - not so much this time.
Not a good night for this suburban stalwart.
Lunch was enjoyable as usual. I love coming here because the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food never disappoints. We had crispy oysters which were very good. The Caesar salad is one of the best because anchovies are on it. An excellent restaurant for friends and family to gather for lunch or dinner.
I always love Linwood’s but was disappointed that there was no vegetarian or vegan option. In the past, I’ve had really good vegetarian meals there but this time the restaurant seemed to have become much more meat-oriented.
Excellent As usual
Food was great and Stacy is always very attentive. Took my son and they made him feel like a VIP
I cannot say enough good things about Linwood's. The service is impeccable. The wine list, handcrafted cocktails, and beers are great. The food is well prepared and absolutely delicious. The menu is thoughtful and very comprehensive, but they also offer some of the dishes on a 3 course prix fixe menu, that is a bargain at $42.18. We both had the spinach salad, which was amazing. The main dish that we both ordered was the beef tenderloin, which was served atop an incredible potato gratin, and beneath 3 perfect asparagus. The plate also has a red wine reduction and herb emulsion, which amplify and compliment all of the other flavors. For dessert, the best carrot cake I have ever eaten. It was perfectly spiced, dense and moist, without being heavy. I have forgotten what the other appetizer, entree and dessert offerings were on the prix fixe and will have to go back and try them.
The service was great. The drink were Perfect. The ldies at the front desk are professional. The restaurant is extremely comfortable.
It has been a long while since I have made the drive to Linwoods but it was well worth the trip. The food and service were outstanding and although this is not an inexpensive restaurant I would still say it is a good value. I can find no faults with the food at all and a nice mix of seasonal specials with the main menu. We had fish entries and they were superb. The wine list is relatively short, but there are some real gems there and a very reasonable markup. I would grade the ambiance as festive not intimate.
Happy times are here again! Crispy oysters are back on the menu! We had them Saturday night and they are as good as ever. I do not care for mushroom soup, but when my friend ordered it I tasted it. It is actually good :) The kale salad is as great as ever. It is so perfect for a fall salad. A stuffed sugar pumpkin is on the verbal menu. OMG, it is great. It is stuffed with wild rice, cranberries, Brussel sprouts- soooo good. I hope it stays on the menu. The Asian inspired tuna is always excellent, the tuna is clearly sushi grade. The crab cake with crispy fries is always a winner and it was Saturday night as well. I just love the warm gingerbread dessert. Fall is the time to fall into Linwoods for a great meal.
I always go to Linwoods on my birthday because it is a great restaurant and it is near where I live. The lobster tempura is second to none and so are their crab cakes. The service is excellent and I usually get to see some of the members of the Ravens football team.
We have been enjoying Linwood's several times per year for over 20 years. The consistent level of great food from appetizer to dessert has made this our "go to" restaurant.
Always perfection with service and food
Menu changes but retains old favorite
We are not from the Baltimore area, but always look forward to our dinners when in the area (4-5 times a year). Servers are knowledgeable and attentive. The calves liver is divine, and desserts are a real treat to share and enjoy. Our fish was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying au gratin potatoes delicious. Highly recommend Linwoods!
Our children had called the restaurant , knowing we were going there for our 35th anniversary and arranged cocktails to be delivered to us as well as our favorite dessert (bread pudding) with a candle, and it was perfect. We had a corner table, the food was great, we were not rushed and it was perfect! (And the food was great!)
Loved every minute I was there Great service great food highly recommend it.
As usual, food, service, ambience, and just all around great.
Annie, our server, was amazing and could not have been more accommodating. However, the “kitchen” was very slow and we had to wait over an hour for our food!
Great meal, love the new fall options. I would strongly recommend the soups we had as starters on a cool fall evening. The lentil soup was filling and flavorful with the added short ribs. The onion soup was rich with onions, really good. We had the kale salad that I would strongly recommend. The mix of fall flavors with apples and dried fruit hits the seasonal mark. The burrata salad is always wonderful. There are two new great options for entrees. A new Asian themed tuna is excellent and a very delicious portion. The salmon with the sweet/spicy chili sauce is also great. Linwoods is not a high spot for dessert- sorry and I love this restaurant. But the new warm gingerbread with ice cream really hits the spot after a delicious meal. Made me happy.
Exceptional drinks, food & service! (and on a night they were fully booked!). Alcera was a terrific server, her suggestions just right, and the S'mores' dessert a sinfully perfect end to the evening.
The service was very good, loved the inventive menu. I had the crab cakes and they were amazing as they were all crab and not alot of bread filler.
Another outstanding meal at Linwoods! Our server, Holly, was excellent! The crab soup, wedge salad, spinach salad were all great. The pork chop and liver and onions we're delicious! One of our favorites places!
I have reviewed Linwood's many times, but I had to take this occasion to RAVE about my dinner last night!
Yes, RAVE. The liver and onions and mashed potatoes are baaack - thankfully. And this is simply the best liver and onion EVER!! If you are a fan of this dish, please don't miss out.
Overall good. Been here a few times. My dinner was based on the server's recommendations, and although good, I should have gone with my first choice...
I never write these reviews, but... We had a 7:30 dinner reservation to take our daughter out during a college parents' weekend. We walked in 10 minutes early to a crowded waiting area and weren't seated until after 8:00. Once seated we were informed the kitchen was running behind... Was frustrating, but made the best of it so not to ruin our time together. All three of us noticed we were the youngest diners, by far! Was a 65-85 year old crowd. Have never experienced that before. We will not go back, which is a shame considering it's our daughter's first year. We'll have to find another place.
Excellent wait staff and front of the house management. Despite being full we were seated on time and everyone most attentive. Food presentation is very good and the food is also very good. I cannot find fault!
Four of us went to celebrate a birthday. It was very busy that evening and we waited an hour for our food to be placed on the table. Two of us ordered steak medium rare and when we cut into the steak both steaks were well done. The waiter took the steaks back and we waited about 15 minutes for our steaks. This was not nice that the two other people had to eat without us. We thought they would comp the two meals but instead they gave us desert that two of us didn’t eat. It will be along time before we return to Linwood’s.
We go to Linwoods twice a year. Food is always amazing. They remember our anniversary and make sure that it is a special night for us. They raised their prices but it is well worth it.
Great food and really good service. The burger is great and so is the dessert.
As always the food was delicious and beautifully presented
Ordered the crab soup. It was basically Campbell's vegetable soup with ceab meat in it. The salmon was farm raised not wild caught. Don't waste your time.
The food is always delicious the room is beautiful and warm. However, it’s disappointing the portions have become smaller the last few times we were there for dinner.
The manager took care of us by deleting one of our wine orders due to slow service. This happened without us saying anything and was much appreciated!
wonderful restaurant. I've coming to this restaurant for many years. The service is top notch!
Everything is delicious, no matter what I order, it's consistently great!
Linwoods is one of the best restaurants in Baltimore. It never lets you down. Great food and good service in comfortable quiet surroundings. Doesn’t get any better than that!
This was my second visit to Linwood’s and once again we had a great dining experience. I chose Linwood’s for my birthday celebration. Hostesses we’re friendly, server was professional, knowledgeable about the menu and the food was expertly prepared. I love this restaurant and will return!
