Food was good but Spicy Mango Margarita is sweet.
Hosting a visit with my sister from Houston. Great location near the harbor, nice view of the boats and beach. Friendly and attentive service from the server and greeter. Food was great, too. A little noisy when it's full inside. Two kids, 4 and 1, were with us, and we went right after to the playground at Marina Park. Really nice, local restaurant.
Great spot right on the marina. My egg white omelette was delicious!
The food was delicious and the service very polite and attentive.
It was a great restaurant experience with a group!
The food and service were far beyond our expectations! Jillian was an excellent server, my bottomless mimosa was always full and she was very attentive. We will definitely be back!
I was in the area and I wanted to go somewhere by the water. It was a beautiful day and we chose to sit inside. Beauty space inside, we sat next to the window and had a nice view inside and out. We ordered the French Toast and the Big Breakfast.
Our server was outstanding. Great personality — made the experience great.
Great service , food was good, view was nice and a great place for the family
I'm in the Newport Beach area for the first time and came here before a whale watching tour and it was amazing. Not only was the food delicious and big portion sizes, but the staff was incredible and very personable. And bonus, they now serve bottomless mimosas during the week!
Crisped Brussels sprouts were wonderful. The blackened shrimp taco were very good, the only issue was they were supposed to be served with a petite salad, but instead french fries were on the plate. A must try is the Bloody Mary... awesome. The family loved the fish and chips.Wish they would serve the Herb De Provence roasted chicken salad for dinner. Over all we had a great experience !
Great location, good service! We had a reservation but had to wait a bit for the table. Also, the sound level in the restaurant was really high so it was hard to hear the conversation at our table.
It was our first visit and was hoping to try breakfast but since we saw it was listed in OC restaurant week we thought we would check it out. We were seated right away but no one even spoke to us for a solid 15 min which was disappointing. The food and value since it was restaurant week was well worth it though I had to ask for that menu and when looking over the regular menu it seemed prices were a bit on the high side for such a small, noisey and casual setting. Happy Hour drink prices were good and we made it to our show on time so over all we had a good experience and the view is nice. I will try breakfast soon and hope the service is better.
Went during restaurant week. When we first sat down we were told they were already out of 2 items from the menu. We still decided to order and had our appetizer. Then ordered a drink. Right after the drink was served we were then told they had also ran out of our main course. Once we heard this we were ready to go. So unprepared!!! We were comped our appetizer but had to pay for our drinks, that we wouldn't have even ordered had we were told upfront they were out of more food.
Excellent and friendly service. The food was very good, charming atmosphere and priced well. A bit noisy, but it was peak meal time. Has a very nice outdoor dining patio overlooking the harbor
A quiet Wednesday night dinner. Food was delicious and the service was great. Killer soundtrack too. Unfortunately it was raining so didn't get to make the most of the great location. Definitely will return for a sunny lunch or summer dinner.
My wife and I decided to try something different for our Mardi Gras; we skipped the live music we love at a place where the food was only so-so in favor of the beautiful ambiance of Newport Beach, the harbor. What a delightful location the Lighthouse Cafe enjoys! The best part is that the food was equally tantalizing and refreshing. We may just make this an annual tradition!
THIS IS A NICE SPOT WITH GREAT VIEWS. WE WENT DURING RESTAURANT WEEK AND ENJOYED THEIR LUNCH OFFER OF CLAM CHOWDER (GOOD!) AND LOBSTER SANDWICH (GOOD FLAVOR AND GENEROUS PORTION). THIS WAS A BARGAIN AND WE ENJOYED GETTING TO KNOW A NEW SPOT.
Was a pleasant atmosphere, smaller menu, but quality food!
Worst restaurant we have been to in many years! The food was terrible, they where out of many items listed on menu. The noise and language used with a table of 20+ people was awful. Trying a new restaurant for us on restaurant week was a horrible experience. We would never go back again
This place is wonderful and the location/décor of building is outstanding. The view is spectacular. We sat inside for brunch and every table was full which made for a very loud environment. I loved the loud chatter and laughter from surrounding tables; however, my 80+ parents had a hard time hearing us from across the table. Regardless of the noise, our food was delicious and our server (I think his name was Price) was fantastic and kept my iced tea refills coming. We will go back again and again
Beautiful setting and the staff was very attentive. We had a wonderful time celebrating 4 birthdays.
The place was clean and nice the service WOW!!!! And the food was really good the location it’s AMAZING LOVE IT !!!!
Superior service from Morgan and Hailey...delicious food (the beignets are a must!) The brunch we enjoyed included fabulous "champagne" toast---really tasty! We enjoyed a lovely meal while overlooking the boats and paddle boarders. The reservation made things much easier; there was a line to get seated at 10 am, on a Saturday morning, but with our reservation, we were immediately escorted to a table with a view. We will most definitely be back...thank you, Lighthouse!
Nice place and nice people. Menu limited but I am sure enough for most people breakfast and lunch.
Restaurant should not have been seating guests outdoors when it was extremely windy and then rained.
We ALWAYS love the Lighthouse cafe! My husband and I have been there quite a few times on our own and with our little girls. The food is great and the view is beautiful. It's right next to a playground and a children's beach so it's nice to come for breakfast or brunch and walk over to the beach with the kids.
The servers were not attentive at all and I had to get up and ask for service a few times
It was so relaxing and delicious with beautiful scenery. Will go back soon!
Enjoyed our lunch at Lighthouse on a weekday. Food was good, the staff did a great job, and the restaurant wasn't as busy or loud as other good lunch spots on the peninsula can be in the afternoon. Will come back again soon.
Just had a beautifully memorable family birthday lunch for my daughter.
Enjoyed the best table, great service, and wonderful food.
The Chef surprised us with a gorgeous dessert for the birthday girl.
The General Manager is hands-on directing the operation, and not hesitant to take the guests order or clean off a table when her crew is busy with s packed house!
Best food with a beautiful view!!!
Received an email for sunset special that had a few entrees that appealed to us. The drive was a little longer than we prefer but we hadn’t been there for a while so we made a reservation and went. Parking was convenient and we were promptly seated with a great view of the harbor. Our server was personable and attentive. Our cocktails and wine arrived in a few minutes. Considering the price of our dinners we were surprised with the generous portions. The courses were served at a nice pace. We will likely return for brunch with other couples to enjoy views of the harbor activities.
Also my wine group had a fabulous dinner there. First time for me for Guina fowl(!) ragout. Unexpectedly dazzling!
Inside the restaurant is loud, the service was slow and poor
It has great a great view with disappointing service.
Great place for a nice meal with a friend. The view is nice, the restaurant unique, and the ambiance is casual beachfront.
Start with the beignets before you eat anything else. We came for Sunday Brunch and started with an order of beignets- a plate of 10 hot, delicious and light as air treats. I needed to eat healthy after that and ordered a yogurt parfait with granola and fruit. I like how it is served in a bowl rather than a cup and it was a very generous serving drizzled with honey. My husband’s dish of eggs, meats and toast was also generous. The view is nice and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. A great breakfast joint.
We went for restaurant week. The view was lovely. We were slightly squished at the table they put our party at. They were out of the one appetizer we went to the restaurant for. They did not have a soup of the day which limited one of the specials. We especially enjoyed the salmon entree.
I thought it was OK. Just what I thought a “cafe” would deliver. I thought it could use a directional sign from the parking lot. I’d go back again.
Food was generally OK, but dessert beignets were outstanding
We enjoyed the ambiance and the view of the bay was wonderful. We will be back. This is a hidden gem.
