Leroy's Kitchen + Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Very poor service. We had to ask 5 times for bread and 3 times for second drink. The wrong entree was served to my friend. She had taken a few bites before she noticed and ended up keeping it as it didn’t make sense to wait for another dish. We were not offered any compensation for this error.
This was my third visit to this restaurant with the previous two being great.
I had made this recommendation for the occasion and felt very disappointed in the overall experience.
I took a friend here for her birthday. The food was very good (we both had yellowtail served on well-prepared vegetables). However, it was extremely noisy - almost impossible to talk. Turned out there is live music on Wednesday and Thursday, and it wasn't a solo singer but a very loud band. Choose your day accordingly. Also, there was no acknowledgement of the birthday - not even a verbal "Happy Birthday."
My husband and I got a last minute reservation at Leroy's after getting into town. I ate an absolutely amazing octopus appetizer which was cooked Argetinian style. I followed this with a salad that included persimmon slices and greens. My husband loved his burger and fries. We will go back before we leave. We hear there is live music on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Really enjoyable.
Tried this venue as a pre-theater option. Prices are high as expected in the Village of Coronado but this sidewalk cafe/beer bar/ fine food joint is not fancy. Decor is rustic, wine list is acceptable, menu is eclectic, and service is as expected at the beach. The burger was worth the visit as was the pork chop. Try the deviled egg app. We would go again
Leroy’s was packed with diners so it is very popular, just not what we expected. We went for brunch but very limited with egg dishes and most items very spicy. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items so would try another time. Service was great and everyone was very friendly.
We were seated outside and no one checked on us for 10 minutes. We told the hostess and asked to be seated inside. It was restaurant week here. The octopus was so good. Burger is good too. We got the brown cake dessert which was also great. Our waitress rarely checked on us. I would try it again
The food here is "different". You're not going to find anything you've had somewhere else. The brussel sprouts were pretty good. The pretzel was overlooked and actually pretty plain. The beer list was pretty good and they have a number of good wines. Service was very good - attentive but not annoying. I didn't have anything beyond the appetizers because I didn't really see anything that looked all that good. I probably won't dine here again.
This place is off the major streets of Coronado Island. It is worth the walk if you're coming from the major hotel in the area and beaches. We had a table next to the window which they opened up and brought the sun in. Very nice staff. Gave us a free try of a Chocolate Stout they had recently made available. Ahi poke tacos (3) had about 6 ounces of ahi split between. The truffle fries are very crispy but not burnt. The mac and cheese had a great sausage and melted cheese flavor. Very good food and service for our first time in the area.
We visited from out of town and Leroy's was recommended via online ratings and from the front desk at the Hotel Del. We brought our kids and they enjoyed the better than usual kid menu. Brussel sprouts and burger didn't disappoint. My husband really enjoyed the pork. Cut it with his fork. Easy walk from the hotel on cute Orange St.
The emphasis here is definitely on the local "farm to table" type thing. We had a great heirloom tomato salad and a nice piece of salmon. Overall, it was very good, but I think it caters to the "foodies" which isn't necessarily high priority for us. But, it was tasty and very fresh tasting.
Walking around Coronado and just stumbled into Lerroy's. They were just opening for brunch and we got a table and ordered a couple of cold brew cocktails that were amazing. We ordered the hoisin bacon that blew us away. Our entrees were incredible, service was spot on, and we loved it so much we came back the next day to do it again.
My favorite place in Coronado. Creative and delicious menu and special cocktails. My husband loves the octopus appetizer and I like the ahi tuna tacos but I love the Leroys Burger. My son the vegetarian enjoys the clams and scallops and the beer collection as well. Fantastic service and ambience. Has cool modern rustic decor with a glass garage door window open to the sidewalk and outdoor seating. My only regret is that I have to share this local gem with tourists and a reservation is a must in the summer.
