Cool 60s-70s atmosphere. For the high price point, the service was substandard. I waited at the host stand several minutes and nobody came. Finally a waiter flagged the host. Then we took our seats and waited substantially before I had to flag a server to get waited on. This is a cocktail bar with seafood and oysters. Just as the name implies. Truth in advertising. There are only 3 main dishes. One is a $39 lobster roll. A food truck lobster roll from Maine costs $23, so a markup is reasonable. But I can't stomach - much less enjoy - a lobster roll at the price. So, we got starters. Fresh butter rolls were delish. An special oyster with emulsified melon was great. Poki was disappointing. Ahi was finally diced but buried in a sea of carrots, lettuce and other produce. The food is decent. The servers were lovely - once they got to the table. Our server comped a martini that I had while waiting at the bar. Classy touch. And points on the board. I had been there pre-pandemic and would give it another shot. But expect to spend.

This is a beautiful and nearly perfect place. We treasure the cuisine and have visited many times. Yet we can only give it two stars because of the decibel volume of the music. Why is it SO VERY LOUD? It's very hard to have a conversation. It's twice as loud in the bathrooms as in the dining room. If the music were turned down by half, I'd give the ambience four stars. The server was wonderful. The only reason the server didn't get four stars is because they made us feel hurried even though there were empty tables around us. The server twice cleared plates and accessories we were still using, without asking. The server was otherwise fantastic (apologized), and was thorough and attentive and gracious and helpful. thank you!

I was really hopeful about Leo's but the experience did not meet expectations. First it took at least 10 minutes for my cocktail to come after it was ordered. I ordered the spicy salmon bites as my appetizer, they were "OK". I had the pan seared scallops for my entree but they were cold in the middle. I sent them back to be remade and the second set was also cold in the middle but just appeared to be seared hotter and faster so the outside looked more done while the inside was barely cooked. I've had both of these dishes several times at other restaurants with better success. Leo's has a lovely ambience but for the high cost the food did not measure up. My friend had better luck with her ahi poke salad and brussels sprouts. The service was good but it was very loud. If I go back I'll probably just stick with oysters!

Outstanding oysters and a really good lobster roll with truly incredible fries. But. The noise level was waaaaaaay not friendly towards diners. And yes, the word “Bar” is in the restaurant’s name, we get it…but our experience (especially with the 3 “regulars” at the bar yelling and slamming shots with the staff) made it not conducive to an enjoyable and relaxing dining experience. Bottom line - glad we dined there, really enjoyed the food, likely won’t be back.

This was our second time here and experience was just as pleasant as our first time. Food and service were excellent. Although the menu now is not as extensive as it used to be (pre-Covid), we still enjoyed what we had.

Everything was so good! Such a hidden Gem. Tried all oyster, scallops and the lobster roll. The salt and vinegar fries are soooo addictive. The staff was friendly and attentive with great energy. For drinks the Bubble bath is my personal fav strong but delicious so one and done lol Can’t wait to come back!

We tasted a variety of fresh oysters and Sauvignon Blanc. It was really good. It's quite expensive, but I recommend it because the atmosphere is good and the taste also good.

It was actually my idea to come here--we were turned away at Per Diem, but Leo's had a table for 4, even though the place is smaller. We were greeted upon entry and even got to choose our table. The hostess very kindly offered to check in our coats, which I found to be very old-world and classy. The service, food and drinks were really impressive. The music was super loud, but our server turned it down as soon as we asked her to. We really enjoyed our time and I am hoping we'll be having work parties here too, because good time was had by all. When we were leaving, the hostess thanked me by name, which I'd never heard before and was utterly impressed by. A super charming fun place, I highly highly recommend it.

So underwhelmed by this place. Oysters were very expensive. Only three options for main course, including one that was not available anymore. The main course scallops portion is soooo small, that we were still hungry after dinner. Noise level was very high, I would not recommend this place.

We’ve been a Leo’s multiple times, and every time it’s been really excellent! The ambience is chic, but approachable… Like a super fun tropical bar restaurant in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Food is excellent… Service is warm, friendly, and helpful. We’re gone every year for the holidays and it’s so much fun. Can’t recommend it enough!

Leo’s was an amazing restaurant that had food far beyond just their oysters. Every dish was not just flavorful but also incredibly artistic and creative. This was easily one of my top ten restaurants in the area, and I can’t wait to go again.

I had the caviar service with champagne. Then a salad and lobster roll with white wine. The food is good. The chairs are uncomfortable and cramped. It is quite expensive, about 15-25$ for a glass of wine. $195 for caviar.
