It was a wonderful dining experience. I look forward to my next meal there.
My husband and I split an appetizer of rabbit cassoulet. It was divine! The broth was light and full of flavor and the dish had ample portions of vegetables and rabbit meat, including four bacon-wrapped rabbit loins on top. It was a generous serving and plenty for two. Our dinners were delicious as well. My husband had the rockfish and I had the fettuccine. For dessert, we split a creme brûlée. All of it was top notch!
We have been to Lemaire many times and it never disappoints!
Perfect as always. And saw extra precautions for corona virus. Great experience, food and waitstaff. Trying to support local restaurants
All excellent. Stick to wine over cocktails. Otherwise, no complaints.
We were there celebrating my wife’s birthday. Everything was perfect.
The rockfish was excellent. It was a little pricey, but almost worth it... which is pretty incredible. I can't wait to return!
Great food and excellent service. Scallops and Rockfish were fantastic. If you have not yet had the crispy fried deviled eggs, give them a try.
Exceptional in every way.
The service (Jacque) was terrific and attentive but my wife and I were disappointed in our entrees. Both were highly oversalted. I had the rockfish, which was cooked perfectly, but the appealing-looking mustard sauce was inedibly salty and had to be scraped off. My wife had the Shrimp and Scallops and Grits— the seafood itself was perfectly cooked but the creamy grits sauce was so salty she had to pick out the shrimp and scallops for her dinner. The drinks were well made and the excellent Sancerre was reasonably priced, but the “special occasion” was slightly marred by an overly heavy hand on the salt.
We had a lovely meal at Lemaire, in a lovely environment. The service was excellent. Lemaire is upscale, but not at all stuffy.
Impeccable service that is so expert you do t notice that someone refilled the water glass! Wonderful menu with food that is perfectly prepared
We had an excellent meal at Lemaire. The space is stunning. Service was friendly and helpful. The little gem Caesar was delicious, as were the salmon and the scallops. Dessert was a small let-down, but only from the very high standard set by the earlier courses. The wine list is extensive and ranges from affordable to high end. While not inexpensive, the meal was a good value. We’re looking forward to a return visit.
We had an exceptional dining experience this week at Lemaire. Our server wasJessica and she was attentive, personable and helpful informing us about our menu options. Cocktails in the Lemaire bar beforehand were perfectly prepared and the food at dinner equally so. We’ve eaten at Lemaire often but this was an especially nice occasion.
Dining at Lemaire is always a pleasure. The staff, the food, the ambience is always top notch.
Very elegant venue. Service was excellent. Food was very good but did not meet the level we were expecting. Pork loin not as tender or tasty as we were hoping for. Rockfish slightly overdone.
Excellent in all respects
Our daughters don’t live in the area and hadn’t see each other in over a year. It was special to have them home. The evening did not disappoint.
We loved our server Jacque! So accommodating.
It was an amazing experience, everything was perfect, and the waiter Andrew did such an amazing job
My husband and I dined at Lemaire to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with anniversary wishes on time and taken directly to our table in a smaller side room adjacent to the larger dining room. Our server, Sean, greeted us warmly for our anniversary and provided excellent, attentive service from beginning to end of our meal.
We opted for the small bites Cornbread with Sorghum Butter rather than a full-sized appetizer. We were given four mini-muffin (a slightly smaller portion than expected) which were tasty with a nice corn taste and not too sweet. I chose the Pumpkin Seed Crusted Salmon and my husband chose the scallop entrée. My food was expertly prepared, hot, and delicious - and my husband reported that his meal was the same. For desert, he chose the Crème Brulee with Snickerdoodle and I enjoyed the Cheesecake Tart with Poached Pear...both again were delightful.
All in all, we felt the presentation, quality, and portions of our meals were reasonably priced for what we received. We did not order wine with dinner as we treated ourselves to a pre-dinner bottle of champagne in our room in The Jefferson Hotel (wherein the Lemaire is located) so we chose to simply drink ice water throughout to judge the taste of the food without competition on our taste buds. As such, our tab came to roughly $120.00 for the cornbread, two entrees, two desserts, 8% Virginia meals tax and the 20% gratuity we left for Sean.
We would return to Lemaire again and recommend it for couples or occasion dining. Business casual dress or better will suffice, if you choose to go. Enjoy!
Great. Great. Great.
I can definitely see why this is one of the best restaurants in Richmond! I got the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. I didn’t think it was possible but they were amazing and delicious and glorious. The halibut was also delicious. The crème brûlée was AMAZING. It was money well spent on a lovely fancy night out.
We had a wonderful meal with superb service throughout. Really enjoyable and highly recommended.
Food was great, environment was exactly what was I was looking for (formal dining), drinks were on point, and the service was impeccable. Was a little pricey, however I will definitely be back soon.
Lemaire is always my go to place for special occasions. The chefs have created a wonderful and delicious menu with gluten free options to make me happy! The meal was awesome with great personable service.
It was a perfect restaurant to celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary. Our server, Victoria, was attentive but not intrusive . Happy Anniversary was written on top of our menus. The food was well prepared and an appropriate amount for the cost. The atmosphere was perfect for our celebration.
Great, long time customer
1st time to Lemaire. We had such a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, our waiter Jacquie was fantastic and the hotel/restaurant ambiance was so unique. We will certainly be back
The Jefferson is old Virginia. Fantastic food, opulent setting, impeccable service, where people dress in proper attire for an experience few places offer. My wife and I started eating there a few years ago after tiring of the overly represented trendy restaurants in town, longing for something with more upscale setting offering a more delicious meal. We found it at the Jefferson, a true dining experience.
All the food was very good. We had several appetizers and everyone had an entre. Service was attentive. The hotel is beautiful- old Southern charm and the dinning room is lovely.
The property itself is amazing and the restaurant is perfect. ALL the food and drinks were exceptional. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Our server was a very knowledgeable on all the courses and attentive, but not over bearing. Between the six of us, we ate everything and not one complaint. Well done Lemaire!
Beautiful dinner in the solarium.. food service and atmosphere were perfect!
The dining room was beaitiful and the wait staff very friendly and accommodating. Our entrees, however, were extremely salty to the point they were almost inedible. We didnt bother to send then back as we were on a time crunch. The chocolate cake made up for it though :)
Lemaire has always been an excellent dining experience. We went here prior to going to a show at the Altria Theater. The service was attentive but not overly so and the food was amazing. We both had the Rockfish entree and shared the Apple Fritter Bread Pudding. YUM. Can't wait to go back!
Lovely dinner early on a Friday night. I had rockfish, he had duck, and we shared the chocolate cake. All wonderful, if a bit spendy.
We met for a business dinner and chose this restaurant for its quiet ambience and good service. The food was so-so.
I made lunch reservations for my mother‘s 90th birthday. Upon arrival at noon we were told that all they serve is breakfast on Sunday. We had already had breakfast four hours prior. This was not the experience we hope to have. When it came time to leave we called for valet parking to bring up our vehicle. After waiting for 20 minutes I finally went and got it myself. There were four people/employees at the valet stand. None of which were busy. Extremely disappointing experience. Have been eating here for decades never had an experience such as this one.
We hosted my boss and his wife for dinner. I wanted this to be a special occasion and that's why we took them to dinner at Lemaire. My wife and I have never been disappointed at this fine restaurant and we had a most enjoyable evening there. Our dinner guests told us that they have been to Lemaire for brunch, but that Thursday evening's dinner was their first time there at night. They were favorably impressed.
