An overall great experience. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We had to wait unti 9:00 pm to get a reservation, but it turned out perfectly. We we seated in a quiet room with 2 other couples at other tables. We were well away from the bar, and had a great dining experience. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.
Our first visit to Lemaire and it won't be our last! Our cocktails were delicious and beautifully presented. The menu has a unique Southern twist to some of the dishes (try the fried green tomatoes and I had the free range chicken served with King grits, tomatoes and okra - FABulous!... and that's saying a lot for a Southern girl! Our waiter knew the history of the hotel and happily shared it with us. We had a delightful evening and dinner and will be back!
I went here for high tea, and returned with my husband for dinner. Both were excellent, great service, delicious food, terrific atmosphere. (High Tea is in a different part of the hotel). Wonderful place. Highly recommend it.
Daughter’s 23rd birthday
Been dining at Lemaire for years.
Always a treat for special occasions!
It was nice. They individualized the menus for our special occasion.
Ryan our server was fantastic The meal and wine were great. We shared the fried oysters, a salad, and then had the tenderloin and fish entrees. Loved the cucumber with the fish and also the oysters. The tenderloin was prepared to perfection. Everything was great. The sommelier was very nice and helpful in making our wine selection. Cheese plate for dessert.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Very enjoyable dining experience! Would definitely recommend and plan on returning!
We really enjoyed our Happy Hour experience--good drinks and good prices, and we also loved our meatballs with grits and spring onions. Dinner too was great--good food and wonderful service. We'd return in a heartbeat.
Ryan was terrific and Shawn the Somalia came by to talk about he wine list. Scallops were wonderful.
A beautiful venue and a trip back in history. Arrive early and explore the hotel before you eat. The restaurant is extremely elegant without being overbearing. Each item we ordered was fantastic both in flavors and presentation. We started with the fried oysters and the English pea soup. The soup was delicious and the oysters cooked to perfection. Main course of beef tenderloin and pistachio crusted halibut. Beef was superb, soft and flavorful and the delicate taste of the fish was enhanced by the pistachio crusted topping. No room for dessert this time. Jessica looked after us and was so pleasant and professional, shared some of her knowledge about the resident gators who once lived at the property. Highly recommend this restaurant.
All around excellent experience. Food exceeded our expectations.
As is our usual custom when we are visiting family in Richmond, my husband and I treated my elderly mom, 2 sisters, and ourselves to dinner at Lemaire. Things did not start off well when we checked in and were told that the library room, which we had requested months ago and confirmed a couple of days prior to the reservation, was not open for dining that night. (We have requested and been seated at the corner round table for several years because it is quiet and away from foot traffic.). When I expressed disappointment, one of the servers, Melanie, said she would be glad to serve us in that room and the maitre d approved. All was wonderful thereafter in terms of food (oysters and English pea bisque appetizers, sirloin entrees, and coffee creme brûlée and berry crisp desserts. The 20 or so red and white Discovery wines for less than $30 per bottle is a big plus for this upscale restaurant. Other establishments in this 5 star class offer few wines below $50 per bottle. We plan to be back at Christmas time during our next trip to Virginia.
Great food in a flash back to lavish times
Wonderful in all respects, which was really appreciated since it was our Anniversary!
Ambience was great. Food very good. The service was outstanding!
Our server was amazing and so was the food. The room we were in was so quiet which meant we could actually hear each other talk. I’m a chef in Baltimore and I would recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. You gotta try it!
Always a very special event, with a very adult approach to fine dining without being stuffy or unwelcoming. The food does not take second place to the ambience though. Highly recommended.
The architecture is amazing and the meals are just as good. I think a good time to visit would be Christmas to see how they decorate.
Fabulous as always....................LOVE being taken care of by Lori, she's awesome!
Wonderful service and food and extremely accommodating with food allergies!!
We had a very nice dinner. Beautiful hotel and restaurant.
Food is off the chart delicious. Service is excellent. Everything is 10+++. A MUST GO
Both my husband and my meal was excellent. Our server, Laura, was even better. We will be back.
Outstanding service (Bruce) food and atmosphere
Always a great experience
My husband and I have a tradition of treating ourselves to fine dining for our anniversary. Since we've only been living in the Richmond area for 16 months, this is our second anniversary dinner here. We will return. A lovely experience, for sure. The service was excellent.
Service was spectacular.
Food was awesome.
Cocktails were excellent.
Another lovely dinner experience at Lemaire, this time for a birthday. The cold pea soup was absolutely amazing. I had the halibut, crusted with pine and pistachio nuts, which was excellent. Other guests in the party had the chicken and filet, and both were very pleased. The dessert selection, and the desserts, were the least good again on this night. Time for a new pastry chef?
Great meal. Perfect ambience
Very good overall; suggest that waiter inform guests that medium rare for beef will actually be rare - enjoyed it though since it was a good cut of meat, but all three in my party agreed that it was the rarest medium rare they have experienced. Fried oysters very good; suggest going for the happy hour for better deals on food. Always a beautiful place to visit.
Anniversary- wonderful evening!
Great food and service. Quiet and upscale experience. If seated by a window, ask to have the a/c floor vents covered
Much better than expected. Food was very fresh and locally sourced. Not overly prepared. They really let the ingredients shine through.
Great bar. Excellent food and service. Impressive decor.
Great meal. Excellent server. AwlwYs a treat to enjoy fine dining in such a special place.
This was our second visit to Lemaire and we sat at the same table as had the same amazing waitress,Melanie, as we did 2 months ago. Melanie is a true asset to Lemaire - she is efficient, pleasant and well versed in her kraft. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. This visit my son had the steak, my husband the scallops and I had the saffron pasta. Dishes were all well prepared and delicious ! We also had breakfast at Lemaire and it was also delicious and beautifully presented with wonderful service! I recommend that anyone visiting Richmond pay a visit to The Jefferson - absorb the ambiance, the hospitality and the devotion to excellence of the staff !
As usual Lemaire provided the perfect venue for a family get together. The food was delicious, the atmosphere beautiful and the service impeccable.
good ambiance, great service
The meal was wonderful. The atmosphere was great. I was surprised about parking when I arrived. In the past, valet parking was free if you were eating at the restaurant. This time I was told parking was only free if you had a drink at the bar. I found that surprising.
