I’m not a person that goes for expensive experiences specially when it comes to food. I usually believe I can make the same food for 1/5th the cost. With that said I set this up for my girlfriends birthday. Wow we’re we both suprised at the experience. The food was fantastic. The way was fantastic and the service was top notched. When we were leaving we were greeted by an employee who ran us through some great history and honesty I believe he was the true reason the night was so memorable. We don’t plan to do it again because we’re poor people, but the money actually felt well worth the cost
We ate here on the first nights of our honeymoon. Such a wonderful experience. Friendly staff and great Covid safety precautions.
The phenomenal rendition of what some know as "Food", can not be described with words. You must taste, smell, and see this artistic representation! Salmon; that literally melts in your mouth! Excellent Service as well. If I were to say one bad thing in regards to our experience, it would be directed towards the ambiance. The Jefferson is as known for its history as it is the Lemaire. I assume, due to Covid, we were not allowed to walk through and see the historical sights; which was quite disappointing!
Especially liked smaller menu that had something for everyone. Chose from the a la carte section which provided precisely what I wanted. Service was great in that it was not overly attentive. Great atmosphere.
Lovely classic French meal. Perfectly prepared ingredients. Look forward to next time!
There was a truly
Dinner in the Time of COVID. We were so excited to be able to return to one of our favorite places. It's been too long. We were served by a lovely waiter (embarrassed I forget his name!) who was attentive but not overwhelming. Could not have been better. We both ordered the filet mignon with port au jus, and almost licked our plates! Serving was so generous we took half our steak home. It was superb beef even 2 days later, killer presentation. Great drinks and wines.
The Hotel and LeMaire are stunning, but a bit sad at the partial emptiness. We are devoted fans.
Our waiter Michael was greatly
The food and service were excellent as usual. I always enjoy this restaurant.
Always top notch food and service. A must for a special occasion.
We had a fantastic time! We will definitely be back. The fried green tomatoes where the best we have ever had!!!
The ambiance is beautiful here, there are few places that could compete with it. The menu is small, which is a good sign because the dishes have been perfected. The service was impeccable and the food great. I only gave the food 4 stars instead of 5 because it was safe. It was good but not spectacular, this place has the potential for a Michelin yet it is so far away in terms of presentation and ingredients that compliment each other. It is a great place for a date and I’d highly recommend touring the hotel afterwards.
The Jefferson was very serious about the COVID precautions. We felt safe dining inside. We had a wonderful meal & excellent service. We plan on going again soon.
Wonderful to be back. Favorite place
Great service, great food. Brought a few of our clients in for a business lunch. Food quality was amazing. The Johnny Walker helped a bit too.
The food was to die for. We went for our 1 year wedding anniversary and just the little details that the hostess and waiter brought to the table were super sweet. But the food, holy moly! So so good!
Each course was perfectly seasoned and presented. Also each course was timed well. My friend and I both commented "best meal in a long time"
I realize that you have been open less than 2 weeks, but I was hoping for the quality of the food to be closer to what I have experienced at Lemaire in the past. Service exceeded expectations. But Fried Green Tomatoes were less than roadside diner quality and fried oysters were really pretty substandard. Like Howard Johnson's fried clam strip in the 1950s. Gazpacho was very good. Filet was ok, but lacked the tastiness I had experienced previously.
I had the best dining experience I’ve very had in Richmond at lemaire. The food was delicious and thought out. The courses were perfect size. The service was outstanding. The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent. I had some of my favorite dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life. Chef Austin is a beast! Would recommend to all!
Having dinner at le Maire was a delightful evening out, just what we had hoped. Our food was delicious, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. We look forward to our next visit.
It was my wife's 73rd birthday. WOW! Every aspect of our Jefferson Hotel experience could not have been better. Thank you, Jefferson Hotel and LeMaire restaurant for all of your attentiveness and caring.
Excellent dinner at Lemaire! Great to have them open again. Tasty appetizers and entrees were comprised of very effective combinations of flavors. Safe inside eating!!
Food was excellent and the atmosphere was great, They did a nice job adhering to COVID restrictions !
Outstanding service, delicious food, elegant atmosphere. 5 stars ⭐️
First time staying at the Jefferson Hotel for our Anniversary. Will definitely visit again.
The food and staff was top notch as expected. My wife and I will be returning.
It was a wonderful dining experience. I look forward to my next meal there.
My husband and I split an appetizer of rabbit cassoulet. It was divine! The broth was light and full of flavor and the dish had ample portions of vegetables and rabbit meat, including four bacon-wrapped rabbit loins on top. It was a generous serving and plenty for two. Our dinners were delicious as well. My husband had the rockfish and I had the fettuccine. For dessert, we split a creme brûlée. All of it was top notch!
We have been to Lemaire many times and it never disappoints!
Perfect as always. And saw extra precautions for corona virus. Great experience, food and waitstaff. Trying to support local restaurants
All excellent. Stick to wine over cocktails. Otherwise, no complaints.
We were there celebrating my wife’s birthday. Everything was perfect.
The rockfish was excellent. It was a little pricey, but almost worth it... which is pretty incredible. I can't wait to return!
Great food and excellent service. Scallops and Rockfish were fantastic. If you have not yet had the crispy fried deviled eggs, give them a try.
Exceptional in every way.
The service (Jacque) was terrific and attentive but my wife and I were disappointed in our entrees. Both were highly oversalted. I had the rockfish, which was cooked perfectly, but the appealing-looking mustard sauce was inedibly salty and had to be scraped off. My wife had the Shrimp and Scallops and Grits— the seafood itself was perfectly cooked but the creamy grits sauce was so salty she had to pick out the shrimp and scallops for her dinner. The drinks were well made and the excellent Sancerre was reasonably priced, but the “special occasion” was slightly marred by an overly heavy hand on the salt.
We had a lovely meal at Lemaire, in a lovely environment. The service was excellent. Lemaire is upscale, but not at all stuffy.
