Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

Most delicious food you can’t go wrong ordering anything! The staff is so nice and excellent service can’t wait to go back once everything is open again!!
Food and service were amazing! It was expensive but I would say definitely worth it. I would recommend!
Loved it!! Great food!! Great service!!
We adore Lechon and go here whenever we can. We like doing tapas style and ordering a little of everything! Our favorite is always the gaucho bread, but everything here is amazing. We are picky eaters too!!
Such an outstanding meal. It had been awhile since our last visit but LeChon lived up to it's reputation. Wonderful menu and service. We'll be back soon.
We celebrated a birthday there for my wife. Nothing special was done for that occasion. Food was good, a little pricey. And it’s really cold inside.
Perfect! Lovely service, delicious food and drinks, very ambient. Happy Hour is a great deal too! So much yummy food.
We celebrated our 6th anniversary dinner here. LeChon welcomed us like old friends (our server was amazing) who knew we were celebrating by having a champagne toast with a love little love note waiting for us! It IS the little touches that make the experience. Last but not least the drinks & food are amazing. Thank you we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Fastest service I have ever had. Good sizes on tapas as well and great happy hour pricing. My husband and I went home with leftovers. So many great choices we will have to be back to try more!
Compliments to the chef, excellent food. Excellent service!
Should not offer reservations at 8:45 if last call is at 9:15
The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, the cocktails were delicious. The only thing I could even think to complain about is the bathrooms were too dark.
This was the best experience. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the food was amazing as always. I would recommend LeChon to anyone for a special occasion, or just a mid week treat!
Very cool atmosphere. Great cocktails. Outstanding food. Extremely attentive service. Definitely on my favorites list.
I’ve heard great things about this place so with family in town I thought checking out a new place would be really fun. Once we were seated the server didn’t greet us until maybe 10 minutes later. He promptly took our drink order and clarified any questions. Food menu was good, aside from the confusing bits of Asian fusion items. Shrimp ceviche was great, along with the octopus and empanadas. The calamari could’ve been mistaken for panda express orange chicken and the flank steak had undercooked/tough veggies mixed in with it. For the price, I wouldn’t come back for a full dinner, maybe a cocktail and the ceviche.
It was good tapas.
Family vacation visiting relatives. They did a fabulous job to accommodate our party of 9 outside on the patio as we also brought our dog. The food was good, but nothing really wowed us or stood out. For the price, this left a lot to be desired with the tapas plates. Had the wild boar sausage main and it was somewhat disappointing too. The bacon duck breast and grilled octopus were delicious, the bone marrow was overdone but the flatbread and sauce was tasty! Calamari was ok.
Great, unique tapas with excellent culinary skills on display
Every dish was amazing. Thanks to our server and the chef for working hard to accommodate dietary restrictions! Delicious.
Food was so good, my husband and I love all the different flavors
LeChon offers patrons a wonderful setting for enjoying great food and company. Social distancing is followed. Excellent service, and each dish was better than the last. From the Ceviche to the bone marrow, we travel from the east coast and never fail to visit.
Amazing food and service! My party enjoyed the experience
LOVE LeChon. Two dishes that are not to be missed: the shrimp ceviche and pork anticucho, both layered in deep, perfectly balanced, soul-satisfying flavors. I order them every single time I go. I also like to try at least one new thing every time. This time, it was the cornmeal crusted olives. Wow. Paired with an Argentinian Malbec, they were fantastic. The brisket empanadas and the foraged mushrooms are winners, too - but honestly, with this chef and menu, you can't go wrong, no matter what you order.
The food, drinks, and service were all amazing. We love dining here.
We loved the cocktails and the fact that there were so many vegetarian option!
Amazing food and service! The happy hour menu had many great options- including food and drink.
Amazing food and amazing service!!! Wish there was one thing on the menu that sticks so we could say ____ this was our favorite. Everything’s was put favorite.
Good service. Excellent tapas. Good ambiance.
It was great. The kalbi beef short ribs are out of this world.
As always delicious.
Only disappointment is less Argentine food and I truly miss the Asado.
We were pleasantly surprised by the food, service, and overall experience!! One of the best anniversary dinners by far!!
Enjoyed the steak abs octopus. Our server was super friendly and brought us a little treat for our anniversary
We can’t recommend LeChon enough, the food was outstanding, the service excellent and the banana pie was worth a visit all by itself. We will definitely be back.
What the chefs having is the way to go - also you have to have the mushrooms!!! So good!
Lechon overall was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back. The drinks was fabulous, the food was delicious, the service was prompt, and the prices were great.
Graat for a small birthday gathering. Incredible food
We love Lechin, and this trip was no different. Catherine was our server, and she was excellent. I highly recommend.
Outstanding experience! Happy Hour menu is such an awesome deal, especially the cocktails. Outside seating was wonderful next to the riverfront as well.
The chef made a great presentation only to be out performed by the flavors
Excellent date spot. Great ambience. Absolutely perfectly prepared South American dishes. So tasty. The brisket empanadas, bacon wrapped duck, and flank steak were all delicious. The drinks were also top notch. I highly recommend for a date night
