Absolutely wonderful. Outstanding food and service A special place indeed
Went for my Dad's 94 birthday! The awesome onion soup they are known for, Dad had steak that was perfect, I had the crab quiche, and Dad had a lemon concoction that was very very tasty for dessert. They brought a candle in it to make it a little more special. Our family has enjoyed this place since it opened.
Thanks for the wonderful greeting and service for our 25th Anniversary.
It is difficult to find a good French restaurant these days outside of cities like New York. Le Yaca does not disappoint and the owner is wise to keep the prices reasonable. Between the top quality of the food and the reasonable prices he is able to fill his restaurant (and the sister restaurant in Virginia Beach), every day of the week at both lunch and dinner. This can not be said of many restaurants.
We had a reservation and was seated promptly. The one item that stood out as unusual was the fact we had to wait for menus. We were told as soon as a table ordered, we would receive our menu. For a restaurant of this quality, why would a table have to wait for menus? Our server holidays. After receiving our menus, ordering and receiving our food went smoothly. I would recommend the restaurant order sufficient menus to accommodate everyone.
We go to Le Yaca every year for a birthday dinner. This year the food was wonderful as always. Unfortunately, it was very noisy, there was a very large party in the bar and the opposite room.
Our food was fabulous and our server, Maxime, was wonderful. We will be frequenting this restaurant every time we visit Williamsburg.
I'm a local resident and always enjoy Le Yaca. The food is presented well and the servings are just right, never an overloaded plate. Beautifully done.
This place is charming. We came for lunch, twice in a three day visit from out of town, because it was THAT good. The food is extremely thoughtful. They have a la carte and prix fixe lunch menus. We ate prix fixe. The salad was amazing. Crunchy baby lettuces, dressed with a Dijon vinaigrette with sliced red grapes. Simply ingredients, that really shone. We also tried the french onion soup, which was delicious.
The fresh catch was flounder. It was perfectly cooked and the lemon butter sauce that was drizzled, was a perfect complement. It was served with asparagus and crispy potatoes. The filet was equally stellar, accompanied by demi glace, spinach and those delicious potatoes. We also enjoyed the french hamburger and chicken.
My only complaint is that it is hours away from home, so I can't go back next week. If you are visiting Williamsburg, or a local, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
We came in late for a late evening reservation and were welcomed in warmly by the hostess. From there everything just got batter. Our server was personable and made sure everything was perfect. Our food was creative, well executed and delicious. We will definitely make our way back. Highly recommended.
Great special occasion restaurant. A little on the expensive side for frequent dining. I did like the three course offering.. It reminded me of my frequent travels to southern France.
I have already recommended Le Yaca to most of my friend.
It felt supper great to see my wife fall in love with me even deeper, "I'AM STILL THE KIND OF ROMANCEIN THE GENTLEMAN WOLD. According to my wife.
We were on vacation at blue green resort another great place @ 8mn from Le Yaca, i never told my wife where i was taking her for dinner sunday night, but the moment that we get in the parcking lot she knew Le Yaca was the chosen place.... Now you can see my problem if it wasnt lol.
The food was extremely delicious, we sat at the table by the fire place, our server unfortunately i forget his name but his an Asian older nice professional man.
He timed everything for us it was amazing how he was so sure and confident. He even tell us which wine that goes with our food and tell us how its gonna tast after drinking the wine.
Every body was supper nice and professional, most and for all my wife was happy.
Next i go to VA again Le Yaca will always be the ideal place for dinner.
Food and service with Charles and staff were excellent as usual. Dining here is a must on our visits to Williamsburg.
The 3 course fixed price menu is a great value.
Absolutely excellent food. Very nice presentation and a wonderful spirit of taste. Exceptionally well done.
Le Yaca is the classic French bistro. I haven't had such perfect Coquille St Jacques for years. Cuisine isn't overly complicated and doesn't try too hard. It's good food prepared well. There's an excellent wine list. Visiting Colonial Williamsburg and looking for a good restaurant, we were delighted to stumble on Le Yaca. If it were in Chicago where we live, we would go frequently.
We have been to Le Yaca several times over the past few years and make a point of dining there when we travel to Williamsburg. It is definitely a well spent evening, although the service this past time was not as meticulous as it has been on past visits, but that is nit picking! The food selection was wonderful and well prepared. The dining room was well appointed and the wait staff was friendly and competent. At time the noise level became a little loud, but that was due to people enjoying themselves, and it was transient. Overall, a highly enjoyable evening out.
Generally speaking, this is the finest restaurant in the Williamsburg area. The food is consistently delicious and beautifully presented. The wine list is superb and the service is excellent. On this particular evening, however, the service left something to be desired. Our server was inattentive and when I pointed out that he had served me a glass of wine with a lot of sediment on the bottom, his attitude was blasé at best. One would have thought an apology would have been in order at least. A deduction from the bill at best. We got neither. I even had to ask him to remove the offensive glass from the table. Before leaving, I made sure we will not be served by that gentleman again.
Always An elegant dining experience with delicious food.
A true GEM in Williamsburg. Every single thing cooked to perfection. Diverse A la carte, pre fixe and tasting menus. Very attentive and informative service. As fine a restaurant as in any big city. Giving it a five only because the ratings dont go to aix! Loved it.
Very good waitress, answered all our questions, provided prompt service, food was excellent - all providing an excellent culinary experience.
I dine here often. The food is always amazing! The problem here is the service! This is not the first time this has happened now. I was here 3 weeks ago and the same thing happened! Last night, we were seated, waited 15-20 minutes and no one came to our table. Another table was seated next to us and they were greeted immediately, served drinks and bread. My date had to get up and find a staff member to acknowledge us. Even after that, it took another 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. They said the hostess never marked it in the computer that our table was seated. I’m sorry but servers could SEE us sitting there! What a lame excuse. This was his first time there and I was embarrassed I recommended this place. They really need to step up their game here or risk losing many loyal, old customers and new, as well.
Every time we go to Le Yaca, we have a great experience and tell ourselves we need to go more often. And then we don't -- perhaps to save it for a special occasion. We have got to change our M.O.
You will have a difficult time choosing from among all of the wonderful food and wine choices, so sorry.
The Restaurant was wonderful. It had a romantic ambiance as soon as you walk into the door. The receptionist and host were very friendly and helpful. They have a altruistic hospitable approach with genuine kindness. My waitress was so sweet and she gave me the time I needed to settle down. I usually feel rushed at other restaurants. I was treated with a special dessert for my birthday it was a great surprise and delicious. The chocolate bar placed on my homemade ice cream even had the words "Happy Birthday" on it. The food was cooked to perfection and had a beautiful display. My husband and I cleaned our plates because it was so delicious. He had a beautiful steak with congac sauce and I has scallops with a beautiful risotto. The tranquil setting was very calming and made any concern you may have been thinking about fade away. It was a wonderful experience. I am looking forward to going back and try a new dish.
We've been celebrating my birthday at Le Yaca for many years--long before the restaurant moved to its current location. We enjoyed our food --always a treat. Our server, Briana, was wonderful. The service was exceptional. ..and she treated me to a birthday ice cream. Overall, a wonderful experience.
We enjoyed are meal very much. Service was excellent
Four of us celebrated a friend's birthday. Food was good, as ever and we all had something different for our lunch and did the 3 course special. Our service couldn't have been better and caring.
Good food in a very classy environment. I had lamb and it was very good. I will be back to try the seafood next time around. If your trying to impress someone the overall experience of this restaurant will do just that.
As always, Le Yaca provided great value and a wonderful dining experience. In a town with so many nice restaurants, Le Yaca is a standout and our favorite. The food is always fixed perfectly and the service is great. The crab cake was even better than we remembered, and the scallops were perfect. A great birthday dinner.
Chose to return for my birthday lunch--which was GREAT as usual!
I really enjoy how their fish is prepared and served and was not disappointed. I had the rockfish which is one of my favorite selections. I love their butternut squash soup and their bread pudding which were both super good too. We felt very spoiled and are all anxious to return.
Ming is always great, he and Walter are our favorite servers. Food is always good but the turnip soup s but bland. Bread is wonderful. Next time we will request the front room as the acoustics in the middle room made for a noisy experience.
One of my favorite restaurants. Took two friends who had not been before. They loved everything especially bread and butter and Grand Marnier souffle!
We had the prix fixed dinner at Le Yaca. It was truly a memorable experience and, believe it or not, a great value. My lamb medley and my wife’s filet with shrimp, just wonderful. We had great service from Kelly.
After 3 visits to the area, this is the BEST fine dining restaurant we have found in Williamsburg, VA. The soups & salads were unique & delicious. The crab crepe was outstanding as was the calf’s liver. And they have a reasonably priced & comprehensive wine list. We will continue to return on every trip there.
Wonderful. Liked fixed price offers. Just like lunch. Very nice for my birthday
Excellent as always
The food, the service - it is always wonderful . I do wish they'd reupholster or get new chairs - the chair covers move with you and are quite cheesy! But they certainly don't keep me away!
Fantastic! I recommend the five course tasting menu.
Wonderful experience. Long time visitors to Williamsburg, but we had never tried Le Yaca. The pre fixe menu options and prices are hard to beat! From the moment the door was held open for us, to the excellent cocktails, impeccable but not stuffy service, and the absolutely delicious meal, we completely enjoyed ourselves. The peppercorn sauce on the filet was delicious. Lobster tail cooked to perfection over a bed of citrus spinach equally delicious. Shrimp on risotto was flavored with just enough spice and the risotto just the right accompaniment. The puff pastry apple tart with caramel sauce a perfect ending. Le Yaca has become a must-visit on our future Williamsburg vacations.
Would recommend with reservations. Some of our food was great, other dishes --like the scallop casserole--not so much. Server was trying hard but not so great, too.
We always love Le Yaca their buffet was "over the top".
