We look forward to seeing you.
We made a reservation to celebrate my mother’s birthday. When we arrived Friday at 6:15 ahead of our 6:30 reservation, the entire building was dark! The restaurant was closed for some reason but there was no notice on the door and we were not notified in advance by OpenTable. By that time it was too late to get into any of the other fine restaurants in the area. Very disappointing. We will not be coming back.
It was closed! Why Opentable is still listing this restaurant? We wasted our time.
It was closed, with no warning, and Open Table allowed me to book it. We arrived there to se it was closed. Back to my trusted location (Brenner’s Steakhouse on Katy Freeway) in the future.
Restaurant has closed and no notice was given by restaurant or open table. I will not recommend open table to anyone
Very SAD! Because it was THE LAST DAY OPERATIONS OF LE MISTRAL
It was wonderful, the food was great and the waitstaff was very nice. I'm sad that it was the last time we'd be able to eat there, as we were told that the next day was the last day of service before they shut down for good...
The last time we dined here about 3 years ago, the meal and service was AMAZING! Not sure if the owners or chef has changed, but our meal was not good at all! I had the lobster pasta and it tasted like burned cream and butter. Husband had the filet mignon and it looked burned on the outside and raw inside. Drinks were definitely not made correctly. Carpet is torn in several places, lights are bright. We have a warmer feeling and better meal eating at chick fil a. So disappointed.
Everything was great, met all expectations
Does not measure up to prior experiences at restaurant. Disappointed in service, poor wine selection, and food quality relative to past visits.
Unfortunately our food didn’t have any flavor
I’ve tried similar plate in Louisiana and I cannot compare it to this place
Attention was excellent
My wife received a recipe book due to our anniversary. Again. Attention was good
This wonderful corner of France in Houston is not to be missed if you want a truly excellent dining experience. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and everything was absolutely perfect - The service, ambiance and food all rate five stars. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive, the food was delicious and expertly prepared and presented and the background music gave a lively mood but was not too loud. The Grand Marnier souffle we had for dessert is not to be missed. It is to be said tat the meal was not inexpensive but well worth the price.
Excellent delicious food. Try the Chilean sea bass with cilantro sauce - heaven.
This restaurant gives more for your money than restaurants in the Loop area and gives more than the buzz restaurants that are receiving all the attention on the top of widely circulated reviewer's list. Plenty of space to dine and quiet enough to have a conversation. Gran marnier souffle excellent dessert, great bread, wonderful lobster risotto.
Fine food with awesome atmosphere. So nice to enjoy a fantastic meal without the noise of some Houston restaurants! Seared foie gras, Oslo buco, and duck confi were all prepared perfectly. Highly recommended if you want a fine dining experience.
We celebrated my husband turning 60! The staff was attentive and the chef and pastry chef did a phenomenal job!
Best food i've had in years.!! I highly recommend this restaurant!
We came here for my wife's birthday. Food was excellent, service was great and we had a wonderful time.
A favorite restaurant in Houston. However, at this visit it was disappointing. The food was not up to its usual standards of excellence and the service was disjointed at best. Not the same - some element is missing.???
Food was good, but not properly described on the menu.
When the description says "pasta" I don't expect egg noodles.
Service was very good. Quiet and able to talk without having to
shout across the table.
not sure what happen to this place. maybe a product of the area, but when they 1st open even before the building they are in now they were excellent.
They change their menu however their old menu which is why we went to eat there was posted on their website. Essentially false advertising.
They have continued to change their menu little by little removing things cutting servings down and will never eat there again. Used to be my favorite restaurant.
Outstanding food and very courteous service, good selection of wines including some well-priced French and international selections. This is a very good address to savor some traditional French as well as modern cooking, there is good variety for all tastes without getting lost in mile-long menus. The lady serving us was very knowledgeable about the different dishes, which is a great help in making a final choice among many tempting alternatives.
Wonderful service, lovely food, and that rarest of restaurants where tables are nicely spaced and people can enjoy a conversation.
Went there for the foie grois and was happily surprised by the rest of the menu. Very hip interior, great menu and wine list.
At $40 a steak ordered medium rare should not arrive with just a hint of pink in the center.
Consistently outstanding food preparation and presentation - along with premier service.
Patio chair for fine dining??? Foie Gras portion is much smaller with too much pear. Red snapper is bland. We always like this place and keep coming back since we first discovered it years ago. I don't think I'll be back. It's sad that I don't have a nice French restaurant to go to now on this side of town.
Did they change the chef? We ordered from the main menu instead of the Houston week menu, but the food was small in portion and tasted mediocre compared to what we had in the past. Service is good, but disappointed in the food quality this time.
Came in and was greeted by one man who got us water then wasn’t even greeted again. Later to have a different server come to us to not even ask if we had any questions of any sort but to just ask if we were ready. She took our orders and left like that. No one came by to refill our waters until 15 mins after. Our food came by and was dropped off, and we were only checked up on once by the same lady who took our order. After that no one else came, we had to wave down the same server that got us water to give us our check. It was only until then that, that server asked us if we were okay and questioned us “leaving already?” Everyone else was treated completely differently than us, which is NOT what should happen at such a restaurant. Definitely upset about this place. Fuckyall
the lobster risotto was fabulous. the bread is unbeatable and the white chocolate bread pudding was a winner
Service and food was great.
Didn’t offer the business lunch that they usually offer
The desert was very small
I was expecting French food and it was more upscale. The decor looked cheap and slapped together.
The creme brulee was the best I have ever had.
Food was rich but that is expected for a French restaurant. Service was fine but nothing exceptional. I don't remember really anything about the service. The duck was fine. My husband was not enthusiastic about his dish which was lamb I think. Our friends got items from the Restaurant Week menu, and they seemed to like it. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Le Mistral again. The wine list was really good though -- lots of great French wine options.
We had reservations for 8:15 pm, arrived early and were seated promptly at at a table of our choice. The service was excellent, as we requested a leisurely pace, and our servers acquiesced to our demand. Although they did not have the wine I first requested, the Malbec that was brought was excellent. The appetizers were well prepared and were delicious. The loup-de-met that my wife had as a main course was excellently prepared. The rack of lamb that I had was cooked to perfection. We had requested a soufflé for dessert as it takes time to prepared. It was served at the proper tempo. All in all this was a near perfect dining experience, worthy of a five-star rating.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant if you want a really good dining experience
It's a great restaurant with superb food and service. We always have a great experience.
Some of the food was good. Some had weird tastes and wasn’t worth the money. In addition, the dining room was basically empty on a Saturday night. However the ribeye was very flavorful and the service was wonderful.
Love this place food is amazing and service is second to none!
The dining room was very hot even though it was 8pm. Had been years ago and remembered it was a a great place. Completely disappointed though. It has backslid terribly. Felt like mid 80s in temperature and other patrons were also complaining about the heat. Front stone facade is falling off. They had a few Dyson fans they were moving around in the dining room, but they need to invest in more than portable fans (the HVAC system). Escargot was OK but not near as good as Cafe Rabalais. Not very flavorful-butter and parsley but little garlic. Ribeyes were not high quality cuts but were seasoned nicely. Definitely not worth the price which was higher than Pappas. All in all, for solid French, I’d go elsewhere. Cafe Rabalais is 2/3 the price but double to ambiance, comfort and quality. For solid steaks, I’d go elsewhere. Pappas, STQ, Steak48.
