This restaurant just changed ownership. The service was great and the owner was extremely friendly, but the food was average at best. The owner indicated he was going to start tweaking the menu but I'll probably wait a couple of months before trying Le Fat again.
Took a group of 13 for dinner
Service was amazing. The house cocktails yummy and the food point on.
We had eaten at Le fat pre-covid and had really enjoyed our experience and my husband remembered the crispy rice bowl and had a craving to go back recently. Unlike a lot of reviews, our service was great, but there was a total of 8 people in the restaurant at 7:30 on a Saturday, so it should have been great! The decor is the same, which if fine, but the main seating area in the bar has cushions worn down to the underlying fabric. The food was just mediocre. We both had the crispy rice pots, mine chicken, his beef. They both lacked flavor, and for mine, the chicken was chewy. And as some reviews mention, it is pricey for the end product. They seemed to have a fairly robust takeout business going but I can't believe they can hold on much longer. We will not be going back and could not recommend to anyone else.
Food was very nice. The crab noodles had no crab! All else great, including the wine.
Was nervous when we walked in because there were like only 2 people working the entire front of house and no bartender
But those 2 ladies worked the entire dining room and the wait was not too long. I still never figured out who made the drinks ( maybe the waitresses) but they were good and the food was still delicious.
There was plenty of room to space out different parties and they clustered everyone into one corner of the restaurant. We were out for an anniversary. They sat a couple right next us and the tables were only a foot apart. Half the restaurant was still empty. That was really annoying.
Loreal our server was amazing! She made great suggestions and she was super quick and attentive. Great food!!
The clay pot ribeye dish really lacked flavor
Absolutely delicious! Wonderful sublime flavors, great cocktails! Had the Lemongrass shrimp and blue crab noodles.
Instant Pho Broth... not super clear, small particles at the bottom that look like the better than bullion paste that hasn't fully dissolved.
Dumpling skin was very thick and tough, though filling wasn't bad.
The garlic crab noodles tasted like fishy/ frozen crab, which for $18, is a rip off.
The chicken curry was actually delicious
Cocktails are good
Overpriced, understaffed (not their fault), and misses the mark of a homie retro feel.
Men's room is dingy
Hopefully they fix whatever issues they are having, as i heard this place was terrific before the government lockdowns
The drinks and food were all delicious and our waitress was great too!!!
Food was great! Service was slow likely due to kitchen being behind with main menu item not available (drunken noodle). The poor servers had to hear it from many customers and I never saw management come around or offer assistance. Saw a total of 4 servers on a Friday night
I really wanted to like it. The food itself was solid. The service was really really poor. Sat there for almost 2.5 hours with maybe one refill. I asked what the problem was and the response was that a chef didn’t show up. That’s totally fine and I appreciate all the hard work they did to make up for the lack of help. However, people who arrived after still got their food before us. We rarely saw our waitress. They ended up charging me for things I didn’t order but we were too ready to be done so we did not fight it.
The restaurant is beautiful, I’ve been before and it was good. This time around we waited 1 HOUR and 30 MINUTES for our food to be served, and when it came it was cold and overcooked.
The waiter was nice and apologetic, but kitchen really screwed up tonight. I’m not sure I’m coming back.
Unfortunately they are severely understaffed in the kitchen and in the dining room but are still seating to capacity. Food and drinks were sub par. I felt sorry for the slim staff. We saw at least one other couple walk out hungry and angry.
Obvious staff shortage affecting overall experience. They are catering to the take out crowd and failing to serve the table customers.
Chanteese is the greatest server! All of her recommendations hit. Food was amazing and music was great. Only criticism is that the lights were super bright. Great overall experience tho!
All of the food was great, but service was the worst I’ve ever had. Server was nice, but only about half of what we asked for actually made it to our table and eventually we gave up asking.
Great service (although service slowed down as the floor got busy) and delicious food.
Unfortunately, this was first and last time at Le Fat. Made a birthday reservation, but was not checked in properly upon arrival. Had a 8:00 reservation and the lights were at full blast, resulting in bad ambiance. We waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged for water. We noticed 3 other tables without food and 1 of the tables was complaining they had waited half an hour then watched the ramen sit at bar without being brought to table. We left before ordering.
Well we finally got our water after about 10 minutes and then overall I think we waited about a half hour even though the place was totally empty and when we asked for an alcoholic drink the girl didn’t even know that the bartender had taken the day off. Suffice it to say we left after it was obvious that there would be no food served that night. Bad experience. Went to another restaurant and had a great meal which was served on time. This restaurant needs to rethink even being open.
We are pretty forgiving but had really terrible customer service. I had a good allergy and accidentally got a dish with the allergy. Got rose instead of Prosecco. Didn’t get a drink I ordered for an hour, then was served and charged for it once I said no longer bring it. The food was not very flavorful. One dish was served with bread and gluten is the allergy.
Food took a while and got cold quickly but the vibe is fun!
Food was awful - not sure how this place is still in business. Sad though, the staff was amazing.
Terrible service, got our meals an hour apart after asking several times. Never received our app after asking multiple servers and the restaurant was half full at best. It was freezing cold so waiting an additional hour for food we no longer wanted was extra unpleasant. Place is a joke, surprised it’s still in business. Would recommend if you like to make yourself miserable.
Very nice bartender who made experience good! Food just simply okay nothing to return for. Chicken and veggie rolls arrived from kitchen dripping in oil. Crab roll on steam bun just okay. Pho was okay not great.
Food was great, however they seemed to lack staff. Our server did her best she was excellent, but spread thin. A few of our entrees came out really late, like half of us were almost done our meal when the other entrees came out. That's not good. Need to staff up on a busy Friday night!!
Fabulous! Best waitress, best drinks and best food!
Wow!! Food was incredible and the vibe was amazing for our large party. Run don’t walk to Le Fat!
The food wasn’t as good as it used to be pre-pandemic. We had the green beans, papaya salad, spring rolls and clay pot ribeye. The dressings and sauces were served in disposable plastic containers…not classy at all and also wasteful. Service was great. But, won’t be back. It was very expensive. Gods was bland and way too much grease.
Party of 5 adults... started with some summer rolls (good), egg rolls (ok, they use ground chicken and not pork), and wonton dumplings (pass, unsavory and not worth the money).
Dinner... chicken clay pot meals (very good, best food at table) and some shaking beef (ok, not really shaken... SEARED the way it supposed to be) but quality of beef and temperature cooked was good.
If you're a large group servers do tend to switch service at your table, your requests might get lost in translation between them. Only ONE cook so servers bring out food as the chef has it ready to deliver from the kitchen. Do not expect to receive all your food together whether appetizer or entrée.
Bar not busy, but our drinks took 10-15 minutes on average from time of order to delivery at table... a couple cans of beer or couple basic cocktails and glass of wine (not complex or large order). Cocktails, bar tap for coke not good and very flat (awful), order CAN coke to mix. Note, our receipt showed something different than what was ordered for beer and cocktails. Server told us they had no key to order actual item and assured us not to worry, all same price (that's a little frustrating, rather see what I actually ordered and the charge).
Bar options for beer is three choices, not sure why MGMT (owner) doesn't have time to input correct selections or ensure servers are trained to find bar items in their order system. We ordered Heineken and our receipt showed Sapporo, we order Jack & Coke and our receipt showed Elijah Craig. No drinks matched what we ordered.
For authentic Asian... it's slightly above "average" PHO type restaurants and worth a try for the food, just be understanding with the time to receive food and drinks.
Great service from louise, good food
Awesome service, great Vietnamese selection. Everyone in my group agreed that it was quite authentic!
Maitre d’ was shockingly rude at the beginning, server came to the table too many times (at the wrong times). Food was way too salty. The kind Asian gentleman saved the day and improved our dining experience by quickly fixing the dish and adding the hospitality that the aforementioned servers did not provide.
If you are not from the area, know that parking is not that easy. The food was just okay. The drunken noodles are more like Ho Fun. The calamari was too salty and there was more garnish than calamari. The service was outstanding. There were fruit flies constantly on our plates and around our table. For the hassle and the value I would not return and would not recommend to friends.
Looking for tasty yummy delicious food? Look no further. I will go to Le Fat again anytime. The clay pots are amazing! So are the soft shell crabs on a bun. Just order many things and share, that is what we did. Had a great time!
Great place for the younger crowd. Food was OK. Green beans were was too salty. Chicken curry carrots and potatoes were undercooked and hard as rocks. So the kitchen is not doing its job. Staff is an outstanding bunch of lovely girls. Good job girls.
Nysha and Elise are phenomenal! Not only is the staff extremely attractive, but they are attentive and friendly as well. Also the clay pot rice dish is life changing.
Service was a little slow, drinks came out separately as opposed to together, same with food. Server was quirky but friendly. Food was amazing. Not all staff were wearing masks which is a little concerning.
We waited for our food for an hour only to be told that it was given to another customer and we’d have to wait more. We left.
