Great service! Menu options were great
Great ambiance, comfortable given social distancing measure put in place
Hostess was terrible, waitperson was nice, food was very good & the foot traffic and noise levels were very high.
It was such a pleasure to be able to return to the Dip for the first time in a year! We were seated outside at our request at a very comfortable two top where we could fawn on all the dogs that walked by, a special treat. As always, the service and the food were wonderful, easily up to the standards of pre-pandemic dining. We already are planning our next visit. Thank you especially to our server Douglas who was attentive but never intrusive!
Friends in town. Wanted to show them a DC restaurant. No chains, etc. in a neighborhood
Perfect night all around!
Superb food, excellent service, very nice outside seating areas.
Went there to celebrate a birthday, so I wanted to make sure it was going to be a great experience. Le Diplomate didnt disappoint. Was a perfect evening
Loved it. Amazing food. Love the outdoor seating. Perfect meal great service. My favorite DC restaurant!
Le diplomat is our go to! One of our favorite restaurants in dc! We’ve been there so much and it’s never a disappointment!
The food was fine and the outdoor booths are wonderful. My one complaint is that everything arrived a little too fast, with no spacing between courses, so we didn't feel like we could completely relax and enjoy the warm evening outside. I'm sure they're doing this to ensure they make money during the pandemic, but it's not the "homage to French cafe culture" that they claim on their website.
My favorite restaurant in DC. Never disappoints!
Always delicious, always Le Dip
EXCELLENT restaurant. Food, service, atmosphere, I loved everything!
Always wonderful!
The service was excellent. They were generally attentive without being over bearing. The server overheard us talking and heard it was my friend's birthday and brought out a small desert with a candle. The food was good, but the seasoning on the fish was a bit too oily. The bread was not real fresh. Wine menu is good and while not cheap, not excessively overpriced. This is a COVID review so anything about ambience needs to be taken with that understanding. They initially tried to seat us in a portioned area that had an extremely small table and the partitions (while clear) were so close I bumped my elbows. They were good and found us a table in an area without the patrons and just better spacing. It was actually quieter on the street than it is inside when I have gone in for drinks. The restaurant is not cheap, and while it would be my top choice for a nice place to go, it is definitely in the top 10.
The burger was outstanding!
Le Diplomate never disappoints. Food was excellent and service was top-notch. We enjoyed our lunch al fresco.
I love this restaurant. I have been every time I am in D.C. The food is just as delicious as French food should be. The bread is especially good and the fries are fabulous plus a very nice wine list.
Magnifique
Nothing negative to say at all! Food was superb and the outdoor atmosphere was super safe during covid. What an absolute pleasure!
Food is always great but the 1.5 hours left us no time to order entrees. Ended up settling for just apps. Next time we’ll make sure to order everything up front
Excellent!
Incredible, a wonderful addition to the restaurant scene of DC and easily one of the best.
Excellent French cuisine near Logan Circle. One of my favorites in The District.
Good like always, and good spacing and Covid precautions for outdoor dining.
Favorite restaurant in DC
One of my very favorite places to eat!!! The food was absolutely delicious! Staff was very helpful with selections too!
Easter dinner! Awesome!
The food is SO consistent here. Almost back to the full menu. We went Easter Sunday and while dinner was excellent, service was not as smooth as usual - we had to ask for bread plates to be cleared, please bring more water, ketchup etc. It was about 3/4 full - not at capacity.
As always, I wish they would lower the music, which was too loud even outdoors.
The profiteroles with ice cream were killer!
My husband and I had Easter dinner outside and the weather was beautiful! The food (shrimp cocktail, the Spring pea soup, duck l’orange and steak au poive) and wine were fabulous! Our server, Kristen, was the best! — from the moment we were seated (she immediately fixed a wobbly table that we didn’t even notice) to checking in with us throughout our meal and suggesting the best wine accompaniment to my entree! Thank you Kristen and thank you all at Le Diplomate! We are so grateful to have you in our neighborhood and look forward to many more fabulous experiences here!
Dined out for Easter brunch. Great service! Impressed with the COVID precautions. Food was excellent as always.
Amazing food, amazing waiter! It definitely match our expectation.
Cannot recommend enough- a must try when in DC. Luxurious but hip ambiance & incredible menu
The sourdough bread that came out before the meal was fantastic. All of our food was delicious. The steaks were tender, the duck was flavorful, and the creme brûlée was filled with vanilla bean. I would definitely come back.
The burger is always the best!! I ventured down the cocktail list and they were all delicious! This is one the most consistently good places to go!! Hands down my favorite DC restaurant for any occasion!
Great as always!!
Great food. Excellent service. Fun vibe.
Lovely brunch outside in a booth. Food and cocktails were delicious and service was great.
Great service and food. We sat outside in one of the enclosures and were plenty warm (it was in the 30s) and service was attentive. Excellent food, fair prices!
