Fantastic everything was great!
Visiting DC
Le Diplomate might have just become my favorite restaurant in DC after the experience we had dining there. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and made great recommendations on everything from cocktails to appetizers and entrees. Everything was absolutely wonderful!
Absolutely outstanding. We had a cute outdoor “chalet” which was an adorable atmosphere. Our server, John, was attentive and helpful. We split the pea soup, warm shrimp salad, escargot and a cheese plate. Everything was perfect. I can’t wait to go back.
The Covid-Pivot was flawlessly executed. the individual booths with heating vents made the entire outdoor dining experience great. Food and Service were both outstanding as usual.
Very good profiteroles, bouillabaisse and mussels. Salad Nicoise could have been better.
Great food, great service as always from this restaurant. The outdoor seating in the “chalets” was very nice.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance! Never disappoints!
The food and scenery was amazing! I would definitely recommend!
When I made the reservation, there was a question on whether this was a special occasion. I checked "Birthday". It was my 50th BD we were celebrating. However, we didn't get any treat whatsoever from the restaurant, not even a free piece of chocolate; we didn't even get 30 more minute than the 2 hr limit. At 2 hr and 5 min, the manager gave us the check 10 min after I had ordered a drink reminding us that our time was up. So I am not sure why the is the question of whether this reservation is for a special occasion or not. I like Le Diplomat because of its bread and ambience; otherwise, the food is very average if not below average.
I had a cocktail, a Boulevardier, it was delicious.
The bread is outstanding.
The appetizers and entrees were very good.
Le Diplomate is a restaurant I will be happy to go to anytime.
Fantastic place to get some delicious French food. This brasserie was adorable and extravagant. Stop at this establishment whenever you have the chance, we will when we come back to enjoy the autumn.
The chalets along Q street and 14th are nice albeit sometimes chilly places to eat outside with greater safety. Service attentive and friendly. Menu is necessarily fairly limited these days for lunch but the Bouillabaise and appetizers did not disappoint. The proferred bread is also always a fave.
This place is amazing!! Wonderful food and a relaxed environment. Everyone was very kind as well.
Outdoor seating under awning unfortunately some rain so we couldn’t really sit across from each other. Would have preferred the partially covered seating closer to street. Waitress was wonderful and service was great!
Great service and yummy food. A great place for Sunday brunch.
Amazing food, best French food I have ever had
Exceptional as always.
We went to celebrate my birthday. It was wonderful! The food and especially the service. I recommend it for any occasion!
Food was delicious. Proper Covid distancing. And waiter was helpful and adorable. Can’t wait to return!
Great service. Great food.
Immaculate! Incredible food, flawless service from the runners, bussers, and server, beautiful restaurant, and a great location. The french onion soup is very, very salty.... but luckily our server was very attentive refilling our water :) Snag a reservation and come here for sure! We had a great evening.
I love Le Dip. I am a fussy person by nature, but I can't find anything less than perfect in our last dinner there. My bourbon Old Fashioned was amazing. The bread basket great. My scallops Provencal superb. Our waiter, Michael, excellent. I will be honest and say I don't care much for the 1:30 hr limit, but I understand this is COVID era and necessary. we probably wouldn't have stayed further, but we used every minute of that 1:30 with dessert and coffee.
Always a fan of ale Diplomate, with COVID restrictions they’ve made the best of the situation. Granted we had our own booth and the best service, sitting in the main stretch of 14th can get noisy. But always happy with everything Le Diplomate pulls out!
Great service! Menu options were great
Incredible atmosphere, incredible food. The bread was delicious. I enjoyed a nice Mezcal cocktail as recommended by the waiter and then a medium rare Steak Frites. 10/10 would recommend and go back.
Wonderful! Service a touch slow at times but that could also be personal preference!
Always love coming back to Le Dip. Loved our service and food/drinks were fantastic as always.
Great ambiance, comfortable given social distancing measure put in place
Hostess was terrible, waitperson was nice, food was very good & the foot traffic and noise levels were very high.
It was such a pleasure to be able to return to the Dip for the first time in a year! We were seated outside at our request at a very comfortable two top where we could fawn on all the dogs that walked by, a special treat. As always, the service and the food were wonderful, easily up to the standards of pre-pandemic dining. We already are planning our next visit. Thank you especially to our server Douglas who was attentive but never intrusive!
Friends in town. Wanted to show them a DC restaurant. No chains, etc. in a neighborhood
Perfect night all around!
Superb food, excellent service, very nice outside seating areas.
Went there to celebrate a birthday, so I wanted to make sure it was going to be a great experience. Le Diplomate didnt disappoint. Was a perfect evening
Loved it. Amazing food. Love the outdoor seating. Perfect meal great service. My favorite DC restaurant!
Lovely beautiful day beautiful experience
Le diplomat is our go to! One of our favorite restaurants in dc! We’ve been there so much and it’s never a disappointment!
The food was fine and the outdoor booths are wonderful. My one complaint is that everything arrived a little too fast, with no spacing between courses, so we didn't feel like we could completely relax and enjoy the warm evening outside. I'm sure they're doing this to ensure they make money during the pandemic, but it's not the "homage to French cafe culture" that they claim on their website.
Le Diplomate is one of our "go to" restaurants in DC. We're particularly fond of the French onion soup and the lobster risotto. The way that the restaurant is set up to meet social distancing during the pandemic - particularly outside - makes for a very enjoyable experience.
