Like the restaurant’s namesake, noted French explorer, Robert de LaSalle, McDonnell set out to explore the uncharted waters of downtown South Bend, Indiana. LaSalle Catering is the off-premise catering arm of LaSalle Grill. LaSalle Catering specializes in all sizes of catered events in a 60 mile radius of South Bend, Indiana. We are particularly adept in executing difficult events in unusual locations. As founder Mark McDonnell likes to say, "difficult is not impossible". It's the little details that count. They make the difference between "a nice event" and "a great party!" At LaSalle Catering & Events we pay attention to all of the little details of your event ... the preparations, presentations and above all the service.

For a nice night out in The Bend, you cannot beat LaSalle Grill, we have other very good restaurants, but LaSalle just feels a little more special, a little cozier, with unbeatable cocktails etc...if you go soon have the Maracuya Cocktail...the pairing of a half glass of wine with desserts was perfect

An exceptional fine dining experience in South Bend, IN awaits at the LaSalle Grill! The historic building, a former hotel built in 1852, has been converted into a beautiful, elegant restaurant on the first floor & a trendy bar & restaurant on the third floor. The crowd tonight was dressed in everything from special occasion to jeans. From the minute we entered LaSalle Grill, the hostess & our server were genuinely friendly and attentive and the manager greeted us, too. The star of the show is the food! Varied entrees and many favorites with delicious sides all cooked to perfection. Save room for the desserts.

The quality of this food and service is outstanding. The appetizer we had, scallops, was delicious and unique. We also had cocktails that were fantastic. The main course… my husband had the filet and I had a fish with coconut rice. I highly recommend! And even with all that, we got the creme brûlée. It was a great finish. Thank you as always.

We expected more for the price. The service was very slow, the salad was wilted, the roasted potatoes with the filet seemed to be left over, although the filet was good and cooked perfectly. The sauce/gravy with the lamb chops was distasteful and ruined the flavor of the meat. It was described as "beet puree" but was kind of a grayish brown color and tasted horrible. The dessert was good. The wine was overpriced. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. We have had much better meals at La Salle Grill in the past. Not sure what happened. It was not crowded. Maybe they were short-staffed. Will think twice before going again.

Everything was just average. We asked for medium rare filet, but it came out closer to medium well done. Service was quite slow. I’m spoiled living in a city with a ton of options, this place just wasn’t up to the standard of a nice steakhouse experience.

We were in town for the evening and LaSalle Grill had been recommended to us. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is classic and we had a lovely table in the corner. Our server, Bradley, was just great! She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! The food was delicious-my husband had the pork chop and I had the chicken. We had such a nice evening and might have to travel back to South Bend to dine there again!

Anniversary dinner overall great experience. They took some extra effort to change our menu to recognize our anniversary as well as provide a staff signed card. All aspects were to a high standard. Price reflective of food quality always could be a little more affordable but we were fully prepared for cost. The quality and presentation was great. Would definitely come again.

Super place and super food. Tony provided outstanding service and meal selection. The food was outstanding and if the chef was available I would have congratulated him with a scene from the great foodie movie “The Big Night”. They made my birthday very special.
