LaSalle Grill, a modern American Bistro featuring steaks and chops and seafood cooked over a live hardwood fire, is born of the dream of experienced restaurateur Mark McDonnell. Like the restaurant’s namesake, noted French explorer, Robert de LaSalle, McDonnell set out to explore the uncharted waters of downtown South Bend, Indiana. LaSalle Grill has set the standard for fine dining in South Bend since 1991

LaSalle Grill is committed to providing guests with unrivaled hospitality and excellent service, great atmosphere, an award-winning wine list and, most importantly, delicious cuisine that is artfully and dramatically presented.

The Grill has been presented with the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award every year since 1996. The wine list is also exceptional with many bottles priced under $75.00. The list has also won the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence sine 2023.

LaSalle Catering is the off-premise catering arm of LaSalle Grill. LaSalle Catering specializes in all sizes of catered events in a 60 mile radius of South Bend, Indiana. We are particularly adept in executing difficult events in unusual locations. As founder Mark McDonnell likes to say, "difficult is not impossible". It's the little details that count. They make the difference between "a nice event" and "a great party!" At LaSalle Catering & Events we pay attention to all of the little details of your event ... the preparations, presentations and above all the service.

From start to finish, we received great service from TC! Incredibly personable, recommendations were on point, and everything was prompt! Both entrees, the duck and salmon, were a slam dunk. Don’t miss out on this great experience!

The food was very good, but the dining room is small and crowded. I don’t like the open door to the kitchen. There was no dress code enforcement, some guests came in gym shoes and sweatpants! Above the restaurant is their more casual restaurant and families of sports teams wearing baseball hats and hoodies walk through the main dining room to go upstairs. When I come to an expensive restaurant for a quiet, special dining experience, I don’t want baseball hats and gym shoes.

Had a great time at LaSalle Grill! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The sommelier was fantastic—picked the perfect Spanish bottle for us. A wonderful spot to kick off our weekend. Highly recommend!

Overall a great dining experience! It’s been a few years since we’re been here after a mediocre experience where our service was lacking. Our waitress was wonderful and re-affirmed the standard I would expect from LaSalle!

Ordered two appetizers and main course Bread service is not free would not recommend paying for it. Filet was ordered medium rare and came out very rare and cold. Sent back to kitchen and came back burnt and charred. Pork chop was very good Baked Brie was dry Bill was over $140 and they did remove filet but will not be going back to this restaurant.

We had a wonderful time. Thanks to Mark for arranging such a great table location. Our service was excellent and timing couldn’t have been better. We were in no rush and thouroly enjoyed our entire evening. Still my favorite restaurant in town.
