Simply an excellent breakfast. Service was exceptional. We enjoyed it immensely.
With all that is going on with the Corona-virus miss information, the restaurant was very slow and we were only one of 3 tables being served during the time we we there. But were greeted and seated promptly, our server was very welcoming and able to answer any of our questions. Plans had started out as a date night for my wife and I but unexpectedly both our adult children were in town. We had the quail, the duck, the chicken and my daughter had the evening special of the salmon. All the meals were well prepared and delicious. For some reason their was no background music until we almost had finished dinner. But the food and service were great, they are very pricey and very overpriced on their wines, but the wine we had went well with our meal. My wife and I plan to try them again when things settle down and do the date night we had planned.
Outstanding experience. Celebrated my Dad’s 87th birthday in a very special way
We were headed to the theater and this was extremely easy access and highly recommended. We were not disappointed. The waiter even asked if we had parked there which we had not. He suggested next time we should as it was free with our dinner reservations.
Lunch: Always good food and service. This is on the river walk but it’s not touristy, not too expensive and it’s elegant with a lovely perch just above the river. Highly recommend. We come here for lunch quite often.
Exceptional imaginative food
Our waiter and all of the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy but quiet and was right near the Riverwalk. Great wine suggestion by the waiter but the redfish dish was not available even though we dined at 6:30 pm. The salmon my wife had was just ok. My filet mignon was tasty and cooked perfectly medium rare but it was somewhat dry, indicating that it may have been prepared too early using sous vide. The redfish ceviche appetizer was too lemony and nothing to brag about. My wife like the creme brûlée dessert although I found it typical. I really loved the cheese board “dessert” that I ordered. It came with plenty of Stilton blue cheese, Swiss and cheddar as well. The mustard seed sauce, honeycomb, and fig jam paired well with the cheeses and walnut halves and dried fruits. A 40 y Fladgate Tawny port made this cheese board spectacular!
Very nice meal on patio by the River Walk. Would definitely come again..
Lovely restaurant. Elegant and refined.
Tomato salad With mozzarella balls & basil ice cream - fresh delish amazing
Venison - perfection
Redfish - perfection
Outstanding experience! Food and service were amazing! Each member of our party of 4 really enjoyed their meals. Parking garage right across the street. I will definitely be returning.
Service and food was great. Low noise level is low for conversations. interior needs a bit of an update. Also, the pathways through the hotel have a neg affect on ambience since it is dark and a bit dinghy with stuff like carts, construction materials etc around.
Meal was delicious, meat was cooked perfectly & very tender. Potion size was perfect to leave room for dessert, which were very good.
The food, service, and atmosphere were perfect for a romantic dinner. The food was delicious and very beautifully presented. We will defiantly return when we visit San Antonio again.
My husband and I dined at Las Canarias for lunch on Valentine’s Day. We had advance reservations and they were prepared to seat us immediately. There was no wait to take our orders and food came out quickly. My husband ordered a steak salad but the steak was totally rare in the centers and he said the quality that he had at other lesser establishments. I got the pork tacos and they were prepared very simply with nothing to make them truly memorable. There was a side of chips and salsa that was also very ordinary. The warm goat cheese we had as an appetizer was good but had the consistency and flavor of baby food.
WE had a wonderful meal and would recommend to anyone to go there.
Excellent dinner. Perfect spot for our 20th anniversary. The restaurant even brought out some chocolate dipped strawberries with Happy Anniversary! written in chocolate on the plate, no charge.
Quality of food seems to have dropped off. Prime rib was dry and tough to cut. Soda was flat and tasted strange. Enthusiasm of staff was dry and lacking. Brunch at Las Canarias is not the same
The food was no where near as good as the last time we dined with them. Mediocre at best. No flavor and dry on the breakfast buffet and we ate at 9am. Disappointed
Great service. Hot bread and salad were outstanding. Beef short ribs and mashed potatoes needed some seasoning to our taste, but no salt/pepper on tables.
6 month anniversary
Was the best date night ever.
Nothing on the menu picqued our interest so we ordered two appetizers and two salads. The salads were small and the appetizers were unappealing. We were surprised considering how good the breakfast is.
Note provided were not adhere or acknowledged. But overall good location.
Best brunch in tiwm
Six of us went to dinner before our play at The Majestic. The food, the service, the appearance was excellent. The problem is and we won't go back until corrected are the chair cushions. I think they are the same ones from Hemisphere. None of us were comfortable and had to lean forward with our elbows on the table. They are completely worn out. Like an elephant has been sitting in them for 40 years. I didn't want to make this review about chairs since everything else about Las Canarias was wonderful, but if your butt hurts it hard to enjoy your meal.
FIX THOSE SEAT CUSHIONS.
Food was good but maybe an off day for wait staff. Service was slow. By the time we received our meal, we had to rush through it so we could make it to musical.
Great service and outstanding food!
Great food and great service. Ask for Ryk.
Service need to be more attentive.
Staffs can be more friendly and the waiter can pay more attention to their tables. It’s our favorite place to go for brunch, but it can improve staffs friendliness
Las Canarias is an excellent place to have an outstanding meal. Great service and excellent food.
Lovely dinner. Great hotel.
What a wonderful New Years Eve meal. 5 delicious courses, live music and dancing rounded out the evening. Our first time to spend NYE downtown, and we will definitely do it again.
Restaurant is dated and worn. Sunday brunch food was just ok. Service inattentive. Definitely not the restaurant and experience it used to be.
Polenta was too salty, ribeye over cooked, duck tough and fatty, short rib was good, white wine served barely cold had to ask for an ice bucket. Sticky toffee dessert and cheesecake we're delicious. Wine list impressive but way overpriced.
My favorite brunch in San Antonio . Celebrated Christmas early on Sunday and they were a perfect setting. And, of course, both the food and service were first rate. You owe it to yourself to go.
Amazing setting with great service and the food tasted decent but the quality of the fish and shrimp were poor at best.
Great food and great service. Make sure you have the stickie pudding for dessert! Wow!!
Yes, brunch was delicious and the service was top notch! So was our weekend stay at La Mansion!
