Came here on a Thursday night. I thought the food was going to be authentic Mexican food. First off the salsa tasted like something off the grocery store shelf. That's usually the first clue. Ordered the chili verde and it was very salty. It had a pile of onions and cilantro on top, had never had it served like this before, ever and we eat a lot of Mexican food. The rice was very basic and so were the beans. Regular store bought tortillas, also thought they would be made in house. They saved the experience by letting us have a shot of one of their best tequilas, Asombroso. Very pricey, but worth it if you're into to tequila. The tequila bar was closed, (weird) because they were not expecting people wanting to go in and taste tequila? This is at a high end hotel. I wouldn't be back. Server was very nice and provided good service. Only patio dining, no indoor dining. It was chilly and they set up the heater next to us. The hotel entrance is very grand and very captivating.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Las Campanas today. Weather was beautiful. The ambience is beautiful, food and drinks spot on, and Ivan, our server was absolutely the best!

The food was good as usual but we sat for 2 hours and15 minutes waiting well over 10 minutes multiple times for chips, water refills, drink refills etc. We had a reservation and a party of 8 got there and sat 30 minutes after us and was done 45 minutes before us. We paid $23 for table side guacamole that wasn’t table side and then had to wait 15 minutes for chips to be refilled so we had guacamole and no chips. Awful service and they weren’t short staffed. Other tables were getting served. Party of 8 so I was nice and paid the exorbitant tip but that’s the downside to the automatic tip… the waiter was well paid for very bad service. It will be awhile before I eat there again.

Ambience and service were good but food was mediocre at best. Lunch fish tacos were salty and poorly breaded. Carnitas were decent. Too pricey for the quality. We won’t return unfortunately.

The restaurant wasn’t busy but it took quite a while to receive our food. Party of six. Overpriced but it’s a very nice location inside The Mission Inn.

Beautiful outdoor patio in a lovely historic plaza. Our waiter Ivan was very attentive and accommodating with us. The food was very good and I really enjoyed the margarita drink and flan dessert.

Las Companas is a beautiful place. We have been going there since it opened. The menu seems to be shrinking in options and the food is acceptable if increasingly somewhat overpriced. The staff, from the hostess who greets you to your waiter, is in serious need of training on the importance of eye contact, smiling and pleasant communication. It was as if we were interrupting them by being there. We almost left before ordering. With all the new dining options in downtown Riverside, I will think twice before going back. It's really a shame!

Carolyn, thank you so much for reaching out. We apologize for the lack of eye contact and service right from the very beginning, that is unacceptable. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and again, we are so sorry. We are absolutely addressing these things.

This restaurant is nice to come to for the ambiance. The food Is decent. You can get much, much better Mexican food at any number of restaurants around town. It’s pricey but you’re paying to eat at a five star hotel. We had reservations and had to wait about 5 minutes before anyone came around to notice us and the hostess looked a little annoyed. Bad day maybe? Our server, however was very attentive and efficient. Our food was brought out timely and hot. I had the steak fajitas and they were average in taste, nothing special. Portion size was plenty. They came with a side of rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream. We had to ask for more tortillas as there was not enough.
