It took far too long to be seated, even though I had a reservation and there were a number of open tables. The hostess kept apologizing and saying that they were cleaning a table. My guest, a wine afficiando, was disappointed in the wine offering and ordered beer instead. The Mexican food was good, but nothing special (nowhere near as good as the food at El Cholo restaurants, for example). The music was distractingly loud at times, which made it difficult to carry on a conversation. The best thing was the outdoor patio atmosphere. The service was fine until it came time to pay the check. We couldn’t get anyone to take our bill, and we finally had to chase down the hostess to get help, which was embarrassing since my guest had another appointment.
Service was a little slow for them not being too busy at 5 pm but overall it improved and the food was wonderful - great ambiance.
Just OK, overpriced and extremely slow and unatwntive service. Bill for 4 was $210. There are too many great Mex restaurants to return.
Venue is great for outdoor seating and food and ritas are absolutely delicious! Great service overall and very accommodating.
My daughter and I were going to a dancing show at the Fox Theater and since she loves Mexican food we decided to have an early dinner at Las Campanas before the show. Everything about this restaurant was 5 Star from the hostess, to our waitress and any of the other employees that passed by and assisted us. The outside atmosphere was perfect for the evening and we had the best pina coladas with our complimentary chips and fresh homemade salsa. My daughter is picky with her Mexican food and she could not stop talking about how amazing her enchiladas were. I had the steak tostada and the filet was cooked perfectly. She’s already asking me when we can go back. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves delicious food, beautiful settings and a restaurant that’s a cut above the rest.
Food was great!
Went here to celebrate my wedding anniversary and the service was subpar. Out server (Luis) made us feel rushed and had to constantly ask for water refills. They forgot our table side guacamole and did not mention our anniversary at all. The ambience is nice but bad service left us with a bad taste.
I have been here a couple times and I am always disappointed. The food is sub par and the service is always lacking. This last visit enchiladas were cold (cheese wasn’t even melted) and crispy tacos were almost burnt. The service is so slow we were constantly waiting for our drinks to be replenished. The only thing it has going for it is the ambiance and the chips/salsa/guacamole. Also, there was a sewer smell that rolled threw about every 20 minutes or so. I saw another reviewer has the same experience.
Wonderful time with my husband and fantastic service and food
Thank you !
Do not make a reservation at 4:30 on a Sunday. The wait staff for dinner arrives at 4:30. The restaurant was full upon their arrival. We were not greeted by a server for 30 minutes after we sat down. Didn’t get food for an additional hour.
Farewell to a friend
Come here for the ambiance. After dark it is all lit up, surrounded by beautiful vegetation, plants and water features. Absolutely stunning. We had the fish tacos, carnitas, and fajitas. The fajitas were so-so, they weren't brought to the table hot and sizzling, which was a little disappointing. The fish tacos were great, although not the best I've had. Cilantro sauce would have really pushed it up there. The carnitas was great for my friend who can't eat cheese. The bartender was excellent, as he/she created a special fruity drink that wasn't on the menu. The value was very decent. We did have to wait about 15 minutes for our reservation, but it was totally understandable given it was a busy Saturday night and the hostess was super accommodating, providing us with continuous updates. This was our second time at Las Campanas and we will return for another special occasions in the future.
Perfect for an intimate setting. Date went perfect.
The ambiance of Las Campanas is outstanding. It may get busy, but it does not feel crowded nor does the sound level interfere with conversations. Our waiter, Roman, was very attentive to all our needs from the cocktails to our dessert. The food was very generous and delicious, authentic tasting. It is a bit pricey, but for a special occasion it is definitely worth it!
Bad food - expensive for Mexican. Not a good combination
The server was not attentive, food wasn’t good, overall service was bad. I’ve eaten here multiple times, brought friends. I was embarrassed to say the least.
Las Campanas is a beautiful place to eat especially after dark and the light are turned on. However, about every 20 minute or so we'd smell a whiff of sewer smell - I'm not making this up. Both my husband and I smelled it and it was not pleasant. I'm not sure what the problem was, but they need to work on it. Also, flour tortillas on fish tacos - really??
Great spot. We love going to the Mission Inn.
The meats were not as good as what we have had in past.
My friends and I had a delightful dinner here and the ambience was great as we enjoyed patio dining under the stars. The service was great and we all enjoyed our Mexican cuisine, including one in our party who had some special requests which were medically required. All were accommodated with polite efficiency. Thank you for allowing us to have a memorable dinner with our friends.
The customer service with the waiters was exceptional. They are very courteous, friendly and were quick. They answered our questions and were very knowledgeable. We definitely recommend Las Campanas to people of all ages. Family, Friends etc.
It is a very nice outdoor atmosphere! I love eating outdoors!
Expensive, but the food is excellent. The outdoor garden-style ambiance is very relaxing, especially in the evening. Your best bet is to go mid-week for dinner, when the restaurant is less-crowded. It’s adjacent to Mission Inn’s “President’s Bar,” which is an excellent place to grab a drink either before or after dinner here.
Gorgeous outdoor garden setting in a old Mission Inn. The service was great, beautiful ambiance, and the food was fantastic. Generous amount for what they charge. Not inexpensive but the quality is great. Got a bit chilly and asked to have the heat lamp above our table and turned it on without any hesitation. So happy we had dinner there.
I hadn't been to Las Campanas for a few years, and I had always found the outdoor patio very inviting. My lunch with friends was no less the same. Though there were a good many people, the noise level was moderate at best which was great for our party. The staff were very kind and appreciative of our patronage, warm and friendly. One of our friends had a little mishap while walking through the tables and chairs and accidentally cut himself. The staff immediately provided him with first aid, as well, hotel management came down to give us further assistance if we wanted. The food was very good, dare I say better than the last time I had visited. It was hot and very flavorful. I would recommend Las Campanas to any of my friends.
Wonderful service & amazing food the bread pudding is so GOOD
We like to go to the Mission Inn for dinner when we are seeming a performance at the Fox Theatre. We also, come here for other occasions as well. The atmosphere is wonderful and I know I am going to thoroughly enjoy myself.
Food had great flavor..however husband's beef fajitas had very little beef. Pretty expensive for what was served.
Had small children at neighboring table that were screaming, running around and scattering food. Not really servers fault but made what should have been a relaxing birthday dinner with friends less pleasant. Not what we expected at the Mission Inn. Realize not an every evening experience...but..
Overpriced and not that great. Something as easy as white rice came out crunchy. Our waiter was nonexistent. Outside venue is pretty but expensive and not worth the money.
Beautiful setting being on the patio. Can get cool at night. Nice bars inside Mission Inn.
I continuously give Las Campanas another chance knowing full well the food is far below mediocre. It's amazing how bad the food could be, since it is in the historic Mission Inn, known for quality and fine ddining experiences. The ambiance lures me back to give the food another shot time and time again. Each time though I'm disappointed and kicking myself for spending the money on overly cooked fish (to the point of being hard to the touch) overly salty guacamole, margaritas that are way too sweet even when I asked for no sweet and sour, and shrimp that is still raw. I'm not sure the owners care about this part of the Mission Inn, since it is not getting better in quality.
Beautiful setting, very attentive waitstaff and the food was delicious. Our party included two puppies-in-training with Canine Companions. The host warmly welcomed us and our pups, and gave us a couple of seating options (both centrally located and away from the crowd) so that the pups ‘would be comfortable’. An outstanding experience!
Could ask for a better time. Server Saloman was great. Our heater didn't work initially but the crew got us another one. A tad pricey, but the outdoor ambiance was fantastic.
My 3rd time at this outdoor restaurant and I really love the ambiance. When eating here it seems like a special occasion each time
The food is always good and enjoyed the Make at the table guacamole!!
The margaritas are delicious
Great food, great service! Would definitely recommend to others.
The menu has been very reduced. The Margaritas are only ok and the food was not great. Service was slow and inattentive. The only positive here is the chips and salsa. I won’t be back.
A lovely evening with family...in a lovely setting
I was disappointed in the fact that I made a reservation and still had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. The purpose of a reservation, I thought, was to ensure timely seating. I brought my significant other to show him how wonderful Las Campanas was and to treat him to a night out. Due to the reservation being a waste of time, we had to rush through our meal to make it to our next scheduled plan. The food was wonderful as always but overall, we were disappointed.
Excellent as always. You can't beat the ambiance of Las campanas. Food is great also.
The food was stale and mediocre. We weren’t impressed at all. Service took forever.
