Las Brisas in Laguna Beach, California, has a long history. It could simply rest on its past laurels, or the incredible Pacific Ocean views, but thankfully it doesn’t. Las Brisas has continued to offer diners a remarkable sea-to-table traditional Mexican menu that once sampled, you’ll want to try again and again. Originally the Victor Hugo Inn, which opened in 1938, Las Brisas opened in 1979. This downtown Laguna location on PCH is a very inspired experience indeed. We had “Tony” at our table, and his partner, “Stan.” They care about their customers, and they genuinely want you to have a memorable experience. I keep harping on this in my reviews: You can’t train people to “like” customers. It’s a “behavior,” and not something you can learn. “Tony and Stan” are the real deal. FOOD & AMBIANCE: So, here we go: Genuine, fresh seafood with sharable portions. We shared the Halibut and the Scallop entrées, and both were exquisite. In short, the food stood on its own, nicely prepared, and with an eye-catching presentation. You won’t go wrong with these. The subtle, casual, semi-elegant ambiance is highly romantic, and truly a great setting for a date, wedding anniversary, or pretty much any special event that you’ll want to savor and remember. PRICES: It’s pricey, but no more than any other fine dining establishment. About $200 for the two of us, but this included two well-made drinks. I’ll stop here. I could go on and on. We’ll be returning for sure!

Many a time customer over the years, yet as the dining frequency increased the visual delight of dining shore line remains the same (suggest waiting for that table with a view) as well as the superior attentive waitstaff. The menu's selection as it should be, abbreviated, diversified and interesting - the more you stray form your ordinary selections the more delighted you will be with the meal. One last suggestion an appetizer and salad make for a complete meal. Bon appetite.

The view makes this restaurant extra special. We really enjoyed the steak and lobster enchiladas with both types of sauces Our server was very friendly.

At the beginning of our meal, the server was fine and friendly. But he or the person he said that we’re bringing our second set of drinks we’re very late and we were already done with our meal. Also, the women’s bathroom was unacceptable. There was no toilet paper and the trash was spilling onto the floor. There are cleaner and better looked-after bathrooms in fast food places.

Not what it used to be. Haven’t been in years, but the food is just plain blah, for what you pay. Great view and our server, Rico I think his name was, was outstanding and funny! So, I guess you’re paying for the view and a good waiter.🤔

Only rated the food as a 3 because we ordered happy hour food and should have ordered off the regular menu. The service was awesome!

The ceviche and halibut were very good. The chicken tortilla soup was perfection! The gorgeous location and service were the icing on the cake!
