Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland.     Wonderful lunch with hummus and calamari to start. Entrees took a bit to come out but that was because two of the party got the roasted chicken which takes a bit to prepare, but clearly worth the wait!

    Went to dinner with a friend and it was an amazing experience! We were able to take our time and enjoy ourselves. Food was amazing and so was the service! We took a bathroom break and came back to champagne on the table! can’t wait to come back.

    I took my son and his wife out for his birthday dinner to Umi. We ordered the seven-course Omikase dinner (it comes with an eighth dessert course). Every single course was a delicious and beautifully presented sashimi or sushi. Enough food, but not too much. We all had a cocktail and a glass of wine or beer with our meals. A fun and enjoyable experience. The service was excellent. My only knock is the price - our total bill for our three people was $460, and that is before adding a $120 tip.
