• Fusion / Eclectic • Downtown
Booked 44 times today
We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.*Last seating 1 hour before close*

Fantastic oysters. The scallops may be the best plate I've had here, and the cocktails are excellent.

I have found a gem in Atlanta! What a fun experience this was. Our first time to Forza Storico and I can't wait to return. We sat inside, though the outside seating looked amazing, it was too humid for our taste to sit outside, so I'm glad I made the reservation for inside seating. Our table was close to the bar and was a great size. Our server, Zan or Zon, was helpful with food recommendations and also mentioned it was his first night on the job, but you would not have known if he hadn't said something. He was great and we really enjoyed chatting with him. We ordered the Caprese salad to start and though it was good, I was kinda expecting it to come traditionally with large slices of tomatoes and this was with chunks. I was also hoping for more cheese and balsamic. It was good, but could have been much better. For our entrees, we ordered Pasta Alla Papalina, which was simply delicious. It was a hearty cream-based sauce and was seasoned perfectly. My partner got the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. It's a classic and tasted delicious, too, though in my opinion I thought it was lacking flavor and pizazz. His plate reminded me of Hamburger Helper. The vibe was LIT and I fully enjoyed the experience. I can't wait to return and try something different. Not about the restaurant, but the parking is tricky and they have lots of rules. I will valet next time because you aren't allowed to back in the parking space and you must pay via the phone app. I did pay on the app, but realized I entered my tag number incorrectly and had no way of changing it. I received a $30 parking violation on my car door on the way back, though I paid $7.25 to park for 4 hours. Kinda makes me mad, but I just paid the damn money to be done with it. It's a hassle for sure and one that will make me think twice about parking in this lot again. I'd much rather a parking garage with toll booth style than the current setup.

This was an experience!!! We always loved JCT and missed it terribly. The atmosphere gets a 4/5 only brcause it’s the same. BUT, the food is EXTRAORDINARY!! I have never in my life had frites like these. And the olive oil, butter and bread situation is out of control. I didnt care if I had anything else. Between those rwo items, def among the yummiest things I have eVER eaten. And the fabulous onion soup, souffle and cheesecake…. All OUTRAGEOUSLY delicioua!!! A must spot to dine…. Even when the rain comes down over your heads at an outside table. Staff quickly got us under cover to enjoy the evening. Firat Class ALL the way! ❤️
