There’s a saying in Japan, ‘Ichi-go ichi-e,’ which means, every moment is one-of-a-kind and something to be treasured. This is the philosophy of our neighbourhood restaurant FUMI, located in the centre of Brighton. A slow restaurant in a fast-moving city, FUMI is a place where flavours, service and interiors are harmonious.A simple Japanese inspired menu driven by the seasons, our moods and by whatever is fresh and exciting in the moment. At FUMI, we source all our produce, meats and fish from small, local suppliers. Nothing is mass-produced or served out of season, with everything we create coming directly from the farm to your table. Each meal at FUMI is a celebration of bountiful harvests, beloved community, and our favourite pairing of food and friends. We hope you enjoy.

Great service and food as always with Bills Brighton. They have been brilliant when dining with our daughter who has serious food allergies. It means we can all enjoy a rare meal out together.

Food was overall quite good. Decor is amazing. Wok fried greens and chilli noodles weren’t great but the salmon teriyaki, mushroom gyoza and chicken bites were yum. Green lantern wasn’t worth it - very creamy - not really a cheesecake. Yuzu mochi were good. Service was really good - we booked on a Thursday and it was super busy so lucky we did!

To celebrate our Anniversary we were at the Ivy yesterday. Everything was just perfect: greeting & cloakroom staff, waiter, the food & drinks were just perfect and delicious, ambience ideal & quite lovely, noise not too intrusive (as it has been before) , everything was just perfect! A additional treat was the delicious chocolate choux buns and Happy Anniversary chocolates strawberries & raspberries , given to us at the end of our meal! Thank you very much indeed, what a great thing to do! ! What a special place The Ivy truly is!
