The Hoffman House restaurant, in the scenic Hudson Valley, opened for business in June of 1977. The building is a fine example of Early American Dutch rubble architecture featuring wide planked random width board floors, a fire place in each of the main rooms and many small multi-level rooms.The Hoffman House is located at the corner of the historic Stockade district in Kingston NY, and once served as fortification and a lookout. Today the Hoffman House serves a continental fare, featuring steaks, fresh seafood, pasta specialties and homemade artisan desserts.     Went for a birthday dinner. Service and servers were outstanding. Lovely ambiance and quiet thought to be fair we were there very early evening. Oue sausage appetizer was delicious and a 5. I was slightly disappointed with the half roasted duck. It may be I am spoiled as we have eaten duck all over the world and the best duck I have had, the skin was crispy little to no fat with moist meat below. My duck dish though tasty did not have a crispy skin and the breast meat was somewhat dry. Dessert was classic apple taste and is was good. Overall good experience.

    The staff was very friendly and the manager ( I did not get her name) was extremely helpful and was on top of making sure we got service. Although bar was under staffed they tried hard to accommodate.

    Food was good , had many options to choose from. Server was great. Cute place. Town is nice but had 2 mins left before 6pm thought we would be ok and we received a $25 parking ticket. They were just waiting for us, :/
