"Overall it's a great place, and was a really good find. It's not a big place, essentially divided into two rooms. Both sides are set up in such a way that there's a bench seat along the wall, with single chairs on the floor on the other side of the small-ish tables. Because of this, I wouldn't call it a romantic place. You sit quite close to your neighbors.
The food is fantastic. I had a blackened catfish with collard greens and creole rice. The food was nice and hot. The spice was very good! The blackened seasoning had a nice bit of kick to it. My date had that night's special, which was various shellfish in a linguini bed with a very good sauce. She loved it. The beer list is OK, and the cocktails are good but expensive. $13 for a spiked lemonade? Ouch.
Not so good:
We were seated just as the live music started, and we were right next to them. Very loud, so we asked to be moved to the other room. They happily obliged us, but it didn't help the noise level. While the band plays, you and your companion can't hear each other without shouting. Big downer, but it's not enough to keep me from going back.
Really not good:
Pay attention to your bill ! Nowhere on the website or on the menu is it stated that there will be an entertainment charge added to the bill, and we weren't informed of this as we were seated. We thought our bill was very high for what we had. On inspection we found a $10 "entertainment fee" ( 2 x $5), and then an "event gratuity" of 20%. We caught this after we were about to leave a tip on the total bill, not realizing the tip had been added in already. That seems very shady. I'm fine with both practices, but it's obvious that this should be spelled out ahead of time."See more
"The food was local, fresh and creative. I loved the seafood appetizer, especially the littleneck ceviche. The craft cocktails we're excellent. We really enjoyed the casual ambiance and the laid-back atmosphere combined with the outstanding cuisine. Thanks."See more
"We had a very nice dining experience at King's. Very attentive wait staff and manager.
Only disapointment was the limited dessert menu which has been changed to feature only ice cream and shakes"See more
"We came for the skate wings...only the skate wings as you are the only place in the area to have them.
Our waiter told us they had sold out 30 minutes prior too our order. I was very disappointed. and ordered other "stuff." I asked for a rain check jokingly to our waiter, who was lovely.
Alas, nothing."See more
"A different approach to burgers with lots of variety - beef, lamb, turkey, veggie - on a bun or over a choice of salads. Fun, friendly service, interesting drinks, and delicious food, especially the salads."See more
"We ordered a number of side dishes as well as entrees. Everything was well prepared and there were unique flavors in unexpected dishes such as the carrots. The calamari with cauliflower was perfectly done. We visit Boston from Delaware each summer. Looking forward to returning and eating here."See more
