Even though Olivine is a wine bar, I mostly go there for the delicious food. The steak, chicken, terrine & pate, the brussels sprouts (swoon) and fries are all great. The wine's always good too. The fitout looks lovely, but sadly the designers prioritised form over function - the cell bench seating is really uncomfortable! Nevertheless, the ambience is great and I like the idea of us all collectively creating a new, more positive cultural memory to sit alongside the history of the place. If you haven't been, I definitely recommend a visit. Do leave time to check out the historical info in the unrestored cells; it feels important to honor and try to understand the story of the place while we're there.

We have dined here 3 times now Lunch, and dinner twice. Service is always impeccable, the girls are the best, (we have only had female wait persons). Drinks are served on time. We usually order cocktails, beer and spirits. Good value for money I believe. Lychee daiquiris are the best but are only available on special. Food is awesome, very authentic I believe, large plates. We have had 3 courses, all being outstanding. Bar is well stocked. We are customers for life and will actually hope to dine this weekend again! Thanks to everyone.

What a hidden gem! The food was delicious – I particularly loved the Arrosticini which were delicious! Our waiter (The Tasmanian! 😜) was incredibly attentive ,funny and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was casual & comfortable. I highly recommend , I can't wait to come back!"
