The food was what you would expect as we've dined at Gar Woods numerous times. Food was well-presented and taste was good. Ambiance and views on the water were great. The restaurant wasn't as crowded as one would expect on July 4. Parking was easy. Service was great. Overall a nice evening meal on a holiday.

We had a reservation for 6:30pm and got there earlier than expected and they had no problem accommodating us. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great all around. I definitely got the small town warmth and welcoming. It was a pleasure and a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend this restaurant and visiting Virginia City, NV.

This steakhouse is awesome!! And becoming our favorite in Reno!

This place is always a good place to go but the past few times we've gone there seems to be a problem with the kitchen. Last night the staff and managers were apologizing for the delay in food delivery which was not a big deal for us but also they didn't have a bowl for the soup we ordered so it came in a small cup with the offer to refill as needed... which was also fine because we were in no rush... but this seems to be the way of the restaurant the past few times we've gone. I can only imagine that they are short staffed in the kitchen. It looked as though there was plenty of wait staff and managers.
