The Ferry Inn is a serendipitous country public house with welcoming staff, character rooms, candlelight, open fires, real ales, popular foods and fantastic sunsets. A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank. Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. The main bar has hop-draped painted beams, a green dado, and stools against the bar where they serve a beer called Oxney Ale specially brewed for the pub by Westerham Brewery. The food was very tasty, the restaurant was lovely and the staff were attentive and friendly. The only bit of slightly negative feedback is that the portions are quite small. I had the Lamb and paid £28 for 4 or 5 small mouthfuls, with mash and broccoli. I was expecting something slightly more substantial for the money. But overall a very nice meal.
