Everything was wonderful. The schnitzel was outstanding. The unusual item, duck schnitzel, was also very very good. German beers and wines, what is there ever to complain about there? We will be back. Service was excellent.

We LOVE Zatinya - the food and even the cocktails don't disappoint. My only criticism is that last night, given my reservation reflected that it was my birthday and the host even mentioned it - I was surprised to be shown to what is probably the worst table in the restaurant - basically between the entrance to the very busy bar and the front door - zero ambiance or good vibe. However when we requested a change, since we agreed to wait, the host was great and we got a MUCH better table ---the birthday celebration dinner was perfect in the end.

I have been going to The Monocle since I was 12 years old. I'm 75 now. For many years I was my neighborhood spot. And even now that I live in Boston I continue to work in Washington. I have probably have more than a thousand meals there. Every single one of them has been perfect. Delicious, fresh food prepared with love and provided by a staff that defines what service should be. There's a reason this marvelous establishment has been a part of my routine for a lifetime. It can't be beat. Five stars are not nearly enough for this gem.
