- SSeanBaltimore / Maryland •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoTruly an experience worthy of a Michelin star! The staff are extremely nice and accommodating. The menu items are all very creative and use vegetables with different tastes to keep you guessing. It's easy to want to order another plate of something because it was so good. My fellow diner and I are vegetarians; we normally eat a diet of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. We were impressed with the variety and creativity of the dishes. Our favorites were the sopa (soup) and the wild rice pilaf with capers and a roasted beet. Beets are a staple for us anyway, so this was like comfort food, but they put a fascinating twist on it by coating it in a beet vinegar reduction. It was a rainy night without a lot of customers and they treated us extremely kindly and patiently. I would definitely return. I do hope that they change up their menu seasonally so we have the opportunity to experience a different menu if we go to the restaurant a few times a year.More infoMitaPrice: Very Expensive• Latin American• Washington•4.8

So from there considering it was mother's day weekend brunch HalfSmoke gets 4stars. I didn't read reviews but my mother (-in-law) did and unfortunately HalfSmoke performed as many reviews (per moms) said they would. Personally everyone had a good time even if we had to wait because it appeared the wait staff were too involved in their own convos. This is our second visit (me and the Mrs. A mother herself celebrating with her mother). Sat at the bar the first time and it was the same experience. Great food. Great ambiance. Attention to customers requires some adjustments I will go back, fully understanding what service I will receive.More infoHalfSmokePrice: Moderate• American• U Street Corridor•4.2

Food is simple but amazing; I’m a southerner and the fried chicken passed my test. Servers and vibe all top notch. Great people watching if you sit outside. Absolutely love this place. - SSteveNew Jersey •10 reviews5.0Dined on Mar 14, 2025Stopped in for pizza the night before the Rock n Roll half marathon and were quite happy with the choice. I saw a lot of other reviews citing service issues, but our experience was great from greeting to server to management. The food was solid. Started with a shareable Caesar salad that was a little overdressed for me, but I tend to like less dressing. Taste was great. We shared a regular size pizza which was just enough for 2. Good Detroit style with nice crispy cheese edges. I’d recommend this location for sure.More infoEmmy Squared Pizza - Shaw DCPrice: Moderate• Pizzeria• Shaw•4.5
