However, I was pleasantly surprised. When I walked up, the signage was very beautiful and classy. I walked through the doors to a dark, but well lit restaurant that felt like a castle’s dining room. The golds, black and greens within the restaurant complimented each other to create a very romantic environment; I’m now thinking about bringing my husband back. My friend and I sat at a high table and, again, the chairs were tufted, table decor was elegant and the back wall seating were comfortable and beautiful. Our waitress was wonderful! Attentive, knowledgeable, funny, and very supportive even after the tabs were paid and we continued talking. It was our first time there, so we looked at the menu to see what we would try. Our waitress recommended the artichoke dip, but we declined. My friend got a drink, looked yummy, and I had a Pepsi with lemonade. For food, our waitress told us about the steak, chicken, and shrimp scampi linguine. We both went with the latter and it was AMAZING! You could tell by the smell, texture and flavor that everything was fresh. The noodles were perfectly al dente, with a buttery garlic flavor, but also a kick of spice to it. The pairing with the colossal shrimp and shutters garlic sauce, again, was a heavenly combination on my tongue. I could not eat it all, the portion was plentiful and presented beautifully. So we both took our food home. Because we indulged in the servings we had, there was no room for dessert, however the menu will be used when I bring my husband back. This place was well worth the 45 minute drive there.More infoBronze DoorPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Grosse Pointe•4.5

The food and drinks were solid, but the real standout was the service — genuinely friendly, attentive, and made everything easy without being pushy. You can tell they care about creating a good vibe. We’ll definitely be back.More infoThe Whiskey SixPrice: Expensive• American• Detroit•4.5
